"Family Friendly Resort"
The resort is quite large with a Beach side and a Bay side. Our stay was on the Bay side. The room was nice and clean with hardwood floors, a mini fridge and kitchenette, a small table for eating or using your laptop, a small TV (19"-21") and DVD player, a large bath/shower, two queen sized beds and balcony patio. Had I intended to stay more than one […] night, it was a perfect setting for a pleasant stay. The weather was not on our side, else I would have loved to have some friends stop by to have drinks or breakfast on the patio! The Grande and surrounding buildings are breathtaking. Beautiful landscaping and well kept grounds and golf courses throughout lend to the true resort feel and a feeling of really 'getting away from it all.' The bay side of the resort also has BayTowne Wharf and the Village, an inner tourist city with shops, restaurants, bars/pubs, and entertainment for all ages. Children of all ages will enjoy even a short stay in this resort. And if you're here for a longer stay, the surrounding area in Sandestin and Destin have plenty to offer as well! "Nice hotel very quiet. Great view"
It is a very big and beautiful area. We were there off season, I guess because there really wasn't any hotel staff. However, when we called they were very responsive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Absolutely Horrible Service"
This resort charges $130 for cleaning departure fee. For a room that I booked for $189 throught hotel.com . I asked why because when I made my reservation I already pay for tax and resort fee already. The lady in the front desk started be rude and we asked to talked to the manager and then she said that she was the manager. She said that $130 is for […] cleaning fee take it or leave. The overall stay was fine. A clean place with a comfortable bed and a million dollar view of the gulf from the 5th floor. The room needs some serious updating...faucets leak, tub doesn't drain properly, refrigerator has paint peeling off. However, these were minor inconveniences. The property is beautiful and well maintained...just not this particular […] unit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful. Just beware of Housekeeping fees."
Really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I didn't realize is that they charge additional housekeeping fees for stays in 2 bedroom suites and above starting at $75 for the 2BR and it goes up from there. But even with that unhappy realization I'm still giving it an overall 5 stars.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Almost good! but bath room was not clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
No free internet. Room don't have beach view. No breakfast as well. Resort is good but expensiveGenuine Expedia guest review
"Leciel was a freshly painted dumpster"
The room was a good deal. Baytowne was beautiful and so were the surrounding hotels. I stayed in the Leciel, which you could easily tell was the oldest building there. You could tell there was a recent attempt to modernize it but it still was old and dirty feeling. The walls were thin and the cleaning staff was noisy and loud all day long.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice, but off the beaten track"
If you book the L'Ceil you need to know that you are on the other side of the lake from the village, restaurants, and activities. There is only one breakfast/ lunch restaurant in your area. the ANOTHER BROKEN EGG IS EXCELLENT, PRICED RIGHT, BUT CLOSES AT 3. This hotel serves the conference center. The rooms are very nice and right on the lake. Housekeeping […] rarely comes before pm and does the absolute minimum. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

When you see the pictures of Sandestin you are wowed! It states it on the beach. Be aware there are actually several places you can stay in this resort. I didn't realize that when you rent here you can possibly not be staying on Miramar beach! I was under the impression I was but ended up staying on the bay side. Just make sure where in Sandestin you […] are staying so you won't be disappointed like me. I stayed in the LeCiel hotel in Sandestin and I have to say I was not impressed with the room.. It was not as nice as I would've expected. At this hotel there is no one at front desk ever and they did not come fold bed or change towels. No ice or vending machines, I guess you have to go out somewhere else on resort for that.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A very positive experience. The room was all that we needed and well worth the expense. Location is superb with easy access to golf and shopping. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return very soon. ThanksGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great food, entertainment, & activities near beach"
We went to Sandestin Resort for our honeymoon in December and the temperature averaged in the 60-70s. It was perfect for fishing at any of the 72 ponds on the resort (catch and release) and relaxing on our patio that faced the bay. We went to the beach and relaxed one day and another we spent the whole day at the village as there is SO much to do there. […] The resort was quiet with mostly locals there so we never had to wait and the service was amazing at restaurants. Rum Runners dueling piano bar and MooLaLa's ice cream and deserts was our favorite places. We also went to a nearby Publix grocery store where they had a large selection of wine. Ovation Dining Club was also great. It is a movie theater where you can have beer or wine and someone brings out appetizers or unlimited popcorn right to your seat. This would be a great place to come back to in the summer for a family vacation with children. The spa was also amazing as we got a couple's massage and relaxed in the sauna. I would definitely recommend Sandestin to everyone! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice two bedroom cottage."
The two bedroom cottage was great. Had everything we needed and made it easy to have family over to entertain. Would definitely stay here again. Resort had a lot to offer and is in great location near everything. We were on the Bay side but a shuttle ran from 10am till 10pm. Great place and got a good price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"we will be back!"
I'm a Sandestin resident./ I booked the room for my daughter & son-in-law with 2 children for a Thanksgiving visit. Tehy were here from South Florida. The original room had an unpleasant odor. We contacted the front desk & within 10 minutes we were switched to a perfect room! Clean & great view. The check in process way easy & pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel view description a bit flawed. No services at hotel. No one to ask for extra coffee/towels, etc. No one on site at LeCeil. Way too expensive for nothing special. Hotel 8 would have been better.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money, even with the special deal."
I got a special deal on the hotel, but still was not worth it. 1. There were no employees checking people in at Le Ciel. I had to drive to the Grand Sandestin, and wait in line there to check in, then drive back to my hotel. 2. After prepaying through Expedia, I had to pay an additional $15 in resort charges when I checked in. There was nothing to warn […] me of this, or even that it was a possibility. I have booked many hotels through Expedia and this is the first time I had to pay extra when I checked in. 3. The tub was extremely small. 4. When paying that much for a hotel room, I'd like to have breakfast. Even some cereal and a bagel. Because Le Ciel wants you to spend money at the resort restaurants, there is nothing for breakfast. I'd suggest paying to sleep at Holiday Inn, have free breakfast, then go play golf or shop at Sandestin if I want to. 5. Aside from the view of the bay, there is NOTHING special about this room. 6. I mentioned that was mine and my wife's wedding anniversary. (Note: We stayed in this hotel in November on a non-holiday weekend. Le Ciel had a special going because they just needed to fill rooms. They were not busy at all.) So what special thing did Le Ciel do for us on our anniversary? They printed "Happy annivers" on our room key. When I've mentioned such special occasions to other hotels, we've gotten room upgrades and even complimentary chocolate strawberries and champagne. Thanks for the room key. "Not what i expected!"
I was very disappointed in the condition of the lobby and furnishings in the Le Ciel. In need of a makeover. If you stay in a room make sure it is Bayfront. I was first given a room that faced the parking lot, after calling the desk i was moved to a better room. Also there is no one at the desk at this location. we had to check in at a different location […] then drive to the LeCiel. Dining at this location is only until 3pm. If you eat later you will have to leave this location and eat at the Wharf or dine somewhere on Hwy. 98. Had to cross Highway to go beach side. Not a hotel for a family with kids. "Watch out for additional charges!"
We really liked the two bedroom condo style place! It was very clean and more room then we thought for our family of four. The rest is not a great review. I was disappointed that "beachview" was a view of a small pond with a water fountain. It was a good 15-20 minute walk to the Gulf and we could not see it at all from our room. The free tram service […] to surrounding shops and venues was also a good 15-20 minute walk from our room. It is a good thing we are young and in shape. There was nothing about the distance when we booked our room. I was just thinking about what if I took my grandparents, we would of had to change rooms or cancel. There was also no daily housekeeping, we were told it was an additional $15 if we needed more towels or beach towels. The housekeeping people did come by the morning of check out asking when we were going to leave. We had until 11am. It was only 10 am. I thought that was a bit rude! When we checked out, we were charged an additonal $130.00 for house cleaning. It is a hidden charge, watch out for that! I would suggest if housekeeping is going to come by maybe they can look at the room and see if it needs to be charged a fee of that amount. We left it pretty decent. I love Sandestin, but would not stay here again. :( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful winter get-away"
My husband and I made a weekend get-away to the Sandestin Golf resort to check out the area. We really enjoyed the resort and nearby Baytowne Marketplace. Highly recommended, especially at off-season rates.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My family stayed at a Linkside cottage along a small lake and the golf course. The home was absolutely beautiful. I was a little concerned after reading a lot of the negative comments about this property. Don't believe everything you read. I also took the time to check out the entire Sandestin property to see other nice places to stay and I was impressed. […] Everything looked great. I don't live far from Sandestin so when I am looking for somewhere to go close to home I will definitely come back. Also I checked out the additional costs before going to the property so there were no surprises. A cleaning fee was tacked on as well as a 14% resort fee which added up to $144. It was worth it. I would have paid $127 for a two bedroom at Residence Inn but only paid $128 for a two bedroom house on a lake with a kitchen, living room, two bathrooms, washer/dryer, dining room, and deck. Be aware you do not recieve any housekeeping which was fine with me, I don't like people in my room when I am not around anyway. Finally, I called the resort to see what property I would be staying at and the lady was really helpful. She helped me choose the property that was the best fit for my family and circumstances even after booking on the expedia website. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dirty Rag on bed!"
The room was very nice!!!!! Unfortunately, there was a dirty rag on the white comforter! The media console in the bedroom was dusty. I found a long strand of hair in the bathroom. I'm wondering what the $75 cleaning fee is for because our room was not as clean as what I thought it should have been. We stayed in the Luau 2 on the 6th floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful Facility - Fun for all"
We chose this facility after comparison of similar hotels in the area and customer reviews. We were looking for a nice hotel to get away to that is close to the beach, offered alternative entertainment and great restaurants. Little did we know how much our expectations were going to be exceeded when we found this little gem. The website does not do […] this property justice. "It's Been 5 Long Years!"
It has been five very long years since I have been on vacation. After several hospitalizations in 2008 and then again in 2010, it was wonderful to finally be well again and to be able to take a vacation! I had only heard of Sandestin but had never been. Well, this was a very memorable trip and only in a wonderful way. The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort […] was something out of a commercial and provided very nice accommodations. The staff was exceptional, as were the folks with Expedia! But I must admit...that ocean and it's crystal green waters and sugary sand is very hard to compete with. We definitely hope to visit again soon, no...make that very soon. Thank you all very much! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"This resort has all the ammenties anyone could wan"
This resort was phenomenal, the room was fantastic, the bed very comfortable. The resort was a city inside of a city with anything you could want without having to leave. Check out BAYTOWNE I had a great time there with the bars and restaurants. With over 20,000 acres of property you could easily get lost. I did a few times. The security staff were […] very efficient in giving directions. Would definitely staff again, can't wait to go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice and private townhouse. Had several roaches but at least they were dead. Grounds were pretty. Kind of hard to find everything there on campus. Baytown wharf was really nice. Marina area very pretty. Biggest issue we faced was the hotel charging us a hefty hotel tax on an already expensive place. We'd made our reservation through Expedia and they […] did not disclose this very large fee when the reservation was made. We found out about the hotel charge as we checked in and the woman at the desk was clearly unwilling to make any adjustments on our bill. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a place that I would stay again"
The resort itself was beautiful but so large that you had to drive to get to any other part of it, they had trams that ran but being in their off season did not run frequently. The building that we were assigned to was very old and musty smelling except for the room itself. The bed was very comfortable and room was nicely appointed. There was no staff […] in our actual building so had to call on cell phone and wait a long time for someone to come over and bring us new keys when our room keys did not work. Overall, unless you can afford to stay in the much higher priced part of the resort I would not stay here, we definitely felt like the 'red-headed step children' Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Needs some maint work"
Okay, had a bed that sunk in the bed so made back hurt worse. Shower had no pressure. Ac didn't really cool like it should. The le ciel building needs lots of maint work. Rotted wood work, wires hanging out of ceiling, paint is peeling, the ceiling is discolored. Needs new carpet but I would switch to tiles. When it got dark, the lights took a lil longer […] to come on so we tripped outside. I have seen better condos for sure. Now the rest of the resort seemed more kept up. Front desk gal at the grand could have been nicer. The resort is bigger than a Ritz and should have service like a Ritz. "Nice hotel, good location"
The hotel has several units in one general area of the resort. We stayed in Market Inn, which was a great location. It was about a 3 minute stroll to the restaurants and shops on the boardwalk. The boardwalk has good restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating; you can by buy a drink at Rum Runners and keep strolling around the boardwalk or walk on […] the pier...very nice and relaxing. There is also an arcade on the premise and a spa. Lots to do! There are complimentary shuttles that run every 30 minutes to take you to the beach (Hilton hotel area). "All is not what it appears!"
When we first entered the property we were please with the resort and it's environment. Until after we checked in. We we at the back of the resort in a hotel that I can only equate to an upscale Super 8. We were not able to cool the room off to a comfortable temperature after several attempts to contact the property management. The 11pm lockdown was […] funny. I guess they feel you should enjoy your day but curfew is at 11pm. There is nothing really interesting to do on the property itself. That's surprising since it was extremely large. All-in-all I would rate this property at 2 stars. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Come for the amenities, not the hotel"
Hotel Rooms were small and uncomfortable. Coffee maker was broken and dust in toaster set off smoke alarm. If we had stayed for more than a night, this hotel probably would have been great, strictly due to the amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for Family Set-Up"
This resort is sort-of a mixed bag of what you see versus what you get. The units are actually owned by individuals and then leased out by the Sandestin group. Some units may be awesome and others may not be. They are roomy and certainly great for families and the beach. The beach located behind the resort is the shining pearl at this place. There are […] certainly other time-share rentals available and just as good, so consider all of the options. That being said, if you collect Hotels.com points as I do, then there was an added bonus for staying at Sandestin. We then use the points for the places that we really want to stay at, such as Hawaii. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the money!!"
Not worth what you pay. The rooms are not kept up. When you pay $500+ you expect perfection. There were rubberbands holding the shower curtains up. There were no bell hops to assist with luggage.
