You literally don't have to leave this resort.. Loved itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful place. Lots to do. We only didn't like the carpets in rooms at a beach set up . The shuttle service in the evening was also an issue. One blond lady drove the shuttle holding a radio, a phone and sometimes had no hands on wheel:)Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The resort is very nice"
Would have loved to play golf but time did not permit it. Checking in was a little of a challenge, the part of the hotel we were staying in did not have a check in, had to go to the Grand hotel to check in and then travel back to our hotel. We had a great view and the next morning went to Another broken egg for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We really enjoyed the resort and it's amenitys. The beach was awesome. The hotel was clean. Would definately return to this resort. The wharf was fun and definately kid friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older small room - Nice golf grounds"
Photos of 'hotel' show modern furniture, etc.. which existed in the lobby area but rooms were much older and less than expected from photos. King size bed requested not available, ended up with two old full size beds in tiny 'suite'. Not 'true hotel' as check in desk was about a mile away and no 'room service' type amenities appeared to exist. Older […] gym/facilities, moderate pool, but very nice and huge golf/property grounds with shuttle available. Highly suggest staying on South side by beach than bay. "Lack of Direction"
The resort was great, but two things really bothered me. First, you get a price on Hotels.com, but when you check in you are charged an additional $50 (or so) as a "resort fee". This should be included in the price and not be a surprise at check in. Secondly, the resort is amazing, as well as all the amenities. Problem is the map they provide is horrific, […] with no assistance of pools, tram stops, location of parks, etc.. Once you walk around and figure everything out, it's great. "Great place but not worth another stay"
The place was great . The resort had great amenities. The only downfall was the location was a bit further than I would have liked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Be aware which room the allocate. We had a room next to the main entrance, positioned such that all guests of this apartment building had to pass our door, as the elevators were positioned passed our room. It is a nice resort. The activities are not very suitable for young children,5 years. You need a golf cart, everybody has one. Umbrella at the beach […] was $45,- a day? Paid another $100 for amenities, we did not used. But if you play golf, and don’t want to entertain your children yourself, come to Sandestin Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful gulf view, but there very little else"
The view was beautiful. The room was badly in need of an upgrade, peeling doors, scruffed walls, dingy looking carpet, terrible bed linens. We were put in a room next to the ballroom where a wedding was held, loud music, vibrating walls and loud guests into the night. Checkin and any hotel staff was miles away. Nearly ruined our 30th anniversary ce […] lebration. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money"
I paid over $200/night for a studio and found myself wasting money. I do not feel the hotel room was worth the money. The room itself was unexpectedly hotel star level 1 material. It had a cheap design to it. The carpet was disgusting and I could tell it had not been shampooed, if ever. The staff at the kayak rental was awful. We kayaked Tuesday morning. […] She was extremely rude and essentially said in 2 mins, "Here is your kayak, your peddles, any stuff you would like to leave here - you have an hour." Okay thanks lady! On the bright side the landscape of the resort they call it is beautiful. Well maintained! Just wish they would spend some time updating their "hotel" rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed at Le Ciel which is a 6 story large building but there is no one on duty at any time in the entire building. The only front desk people were located at least a mile away. Pool area was littered with cans in the morningGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small Rooms and Front desk not functioning"
We booked a room for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The room is very small with one bad. The Sofa that supposed to be used for the kids is uncomfortable. The package include cleaning of the room (Towels, bad fixing and empty trash). Although we spent most of the day on the beach, the room was not cleaned by the time we get back to the hotel. We […] called the front desk and they said they will send someone. This never happened. Also, the shuttle to the beach does not come very often and have very limited capacity, on one of the days, we spent around 50 minutes to get to the beach Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"View of the ocean?"
We were misled about "view of the ocean". Through 2-3 buildings and 1/4 mile away, we could see water. Couldn't check in until 4 PM. Our mistake for not reading the fine print. Had we, we wouldn't have stayed here. Arrived in FL at 10 AM in hopes of getting settled and enjoying the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, but you have to drive to the beach"
Next time we will stay at the Hilton across the street which is walking distance to the beach. This hotel is bayside not beachsideGenuine Expedia guest review

Took a long time to check in, room keys didn't work and the pool bar closed at 5pm.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our stay was pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the grounds for the first time. As we are not golfers, the resort is very pretty, but visitors must understand that unless you are an avid walker or cyclist, driving is a must to get around the resort areas and to the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Remodeling amd bad service"
There was no mention that the Village Condo were being remodeled on the outside. The entire was scaffold and you can not use the large balcony. The scaffold blocked the view to the beautiful trees. When I checked in they gave me room keys to an already occupied room. Thank God the tenets were not in there doing many panky. How embarrassing to walk in […] a room with someone else's cloths, computer, money on everywhere. I backed out of the room and called front desk and they wanted to go back to the front desk for a new room keys. I asked nicely if the bell man can bring me new keys with a new room? She finally relented but she was going to make me pack my car again to drive to the front of the hotel. How lazy is that! It doesn't surprise me they didn't offer a discount or meal ticket or upgraded room for their huge mistake. The scary thing is the bellman didn't even take the old room key. I still had access to those mystery people. I don't think the service is good or safe for customers. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place !!"
This place was beautiful, easy access to a lot of shopping, dining and things for the kids. Didn't get to the beach the first day because the Tram never showed up. and the worse part was we got back to our room after going to eat, and the key wouldn't work so we sat in our car for an hour and half waiting for someone to come let us in, because even […] the second key didn't work. "Pretty much as expected"
I have stayed in various different townhouses in the Sandestin resort from time to time. This time the townhouse was in the Beachwalk group. It was a very nice condo. My only complaint was there were no paper towels supplied with the townhouse. Now that really isn't a major complaint but I was forced to use towels for small cleanups. I was only there […] for 2 nights so it was hard to justify a trip to the grocery store just for paper towels. I would have purchased my own if I had been there longer. "we could have got a cheaper hotel its the same"
I find out Sandestin is for the rich everything is very expensive you could have a better time at places when you first get into destin is there a better night clubs restaurants and yes it is pocket friendlyGenuine Expedia guest review
La Ciel is one of the resort's bayfront properties, so you need to take a tram ride to get to the beach. That said, it cost considerably less to stay at this property than others at the resort and you get all of the amenities -- free bikes, kayaking and tennis and the run of Sandestin's 2,400 acres -- for your money. Very convenient to shopping at the […] Silver Sands Premium Outlet Mall. Other properties on the resort are condos, but this one is more like a standard hotel room. "40% tax and fees?!"
Booked the room at an agreed rate, taxes/fees at about twelve percent, ok fine. Then after paying, on the receipt "And the hotel will ask you to pay $xx.xx", about another sixteen percent, ok notified, fair enough. Actual charge was over twice that and billed as cleaning fee. Total came to about forty percent more. I can't recall every paying forty […] percent taxes and fees anyplace in the world, even 7 stars or whatever ratings they use. We wanted to grab a shower before our dinner plans at 6:30PM and check in is at 4PM. No problem... well yes a problem. The room was not ready and they said they would call us. Ok 5:36PM rolls around, so I call them. They said they called and left a message. Out of curiosity I checked and my phone number was correct and I did NOT have a voice mail. Lying, not good, but not really a big deal. We get in the room and getting ready in a hurry, when Maintenance shows up because we do not have a light switch in the bathroom. Well he has the wrong size, so he leaves again and says he will be back. We throw the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and rush to get ready. Also the balcony way taped off with plastic because they are painting. Paint was all over the balcony floor. I know where they need to spend the $48.89 cleaning fee. I think this warrants a warning to others. So beware. And while mine was included "Luau and Beachside studios receive trash and towel housekeeping for a fee." I really wonder how much more they can add. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice resort, room was okay"
The resort was great, the room that we had was decent. Pillows on the bed were pretty flat and there was stale water in our shower until we cleared the pipes by running the water. Otherwise it was a good stay. The lobby forgot to give us wristbands that you are required to wear and some staff at the pool gave us crap about not having them, but it wasn't […] to annoying. Overall, it was a good experience and I look forward to going back again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just Okay for the price!"
We were originally checked into a room in a very old building on the resort with two full sized beds when I had requested a King bed. Our stay was during the flood and everything was closed in this section and there was no cable. The room and building were old, outdated, and depressing. My husband called the front desk and they moved us across the street […] to a different building and a much nicer room and location. The entire facility except for the main building where you check in is very old and outdated and not in my opinion worth the price that we paid to stay in this resort. Entire experience was just okay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in a great location (on the bay, not beach) and the resort has many amenities but the hotel is older and in the process of being remodeled. We enjoyed our stay and it was quiet and comfortable but be aware that it is not fully restored.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything would have been perfect but we stayed at the Luau when an alarm clock in the next room started chiming around 5:45am. Service folk couldn't show up to turn it off until 7:00am!! Besides that sub par service the place was really awesome. We will return...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful room, great view!"
Great visit. Room was very clean. The bed could have been a little firmer. Will be back though!Genuine Expedia guest review
Our vacation was wonder with one exception. My six yr old daughter wanted to attend the kids club kz and on two days it was closed. Saturday they were having Easter festivities and this was acceptable, however Monday during normal posted hours no one was scheduled to keep children. It says you have to make advanced reservations but due to the club being […] closed sat and Sunday I could not do so! I then was allowed to drop her off with a very nice hotel attendant at 915 in order for me and my kids to make it to our scheduled 10 am appt that was 30 mins away. Well then I got a phone call stating I needed to come get my daughter that no one would be able to keep her. What!!! This is BAD service! But I did! She was so disappointed! She was the one who wanted to go! The hours are M-S 9-2, so not sure why this happened, especially when a paying guest wanted to use their service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room and hotel were fine, my only complaint is the towels were quite worn out and ragged. If you plan on showering here it may behoove you to bring your own towel, otherwise you will end up with white fuzz all over your body.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice quiet area"
We stayed in the LeCeil area and it was pleasantly quiet, clean, and our room looked over the bay. The restaurant next door, Another Broken Egg, was fabulous and we ate there every day! If you wanted more activity, all you had to do was go to the beach area or to Baytowne Village. We were impressed with the entire property.Genuine Expedia guest review
