Cleanliness was fare, we had a problem with the sofa beds that need more attention on cleanliness and also the lack of maintenance of the hotel. For example the light fixture in the bathroom of our room was lose and ready to fall down. There was water leaking from the ceiling and after four days it was still not repaired. I understand we were there in the offseason. But there was constant jack hammering from 9 am until evening. Otherwise everything was perfect. Great view, clean comfy rooms. Cheap room service! Nice staff. Easy access to cabs and close to a supermarket.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only complaint that we have is that after New years eve the Jacuzzi was milky white. The staff monitored the levels however it did no clear up before we left. (2 days later)

My wife and I stayed here for one night. The staff is very friendly. We had a bellhop help us take our luggage to our room, and he explained pretty much everything we needed to know about our room and hotel. The room itself was very spacious. Modern looking. A quick walk to the back of hotel leads you directly into the marina, where there are several shops and booths set up. There is a restaurant and a couple of bars, too. There are also some boats that offer sunset cruises. Inside the hotel is a small convenient store. They have snacks and some souvenirs here. Prices are a little more expensive than other stores down the block. They do offer wifi, however, on the 3rd floor where we stayed, it was spotty. All in all, this was a great hotel to stay at. The hotel was lovely. The front desk was cooperative about changing our room when the deck below it was being jack-hammered. However, at first the front desk did say that they would be quitting at 6 - it was 3 at that point! Our friends had come looking for us and the front desk told them we had no reservation. When we got there, they said no one had […] asked for us even though there was a note at the desk for us. So, while they were unfailingly polite, the customer service left a bit to be desired. In terms of overall value compared to other cities, such as Mazatlan at this time of year, the rate was perhaps not a great value, but San Carlos is a bit out of the way, with a limited selection of hotels. The dive shop recommended this hotel for our diving trip to San Carlos. They were absolutely right. It's walking distance to the marina where we took our boat every morning. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 5:45 p.m. Beds very hard. There was a loud noise that came from upper floor, like a toilet being flused non stop. The housekeeper did not clean the room they just left towels and soap. Staff was not very helpful , they seem bother when they were asked questions.

we stayed 2 nights at the martinaterra & enjoyed every moment. we booked a suite on the first floor that opened out onto a patio that walked out to the pool. It had a bedroom with doors and 2 futon-type couches in the living area. The full sized frig, sink, and the stove top (we didn't use) was great. We were traveling with a group; the hotel had one person to register 20+ individuals. It took a long time for all of us. It was an inconvenience to have to sign out the air conditioner and television remotes. The safe was very quaint. The restaurant was GREAT!

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and would go out of their way to help when we needed them. For example, our car broke down while we were there. We had just left the hotel to go looking around, and a short distance away, the car quit running and I had to coast off the road. I walked back to the hotel, and they sent their maintenance men […] to help us out. After helping me look over a few things (as I didn't have any of my tools with me...which won't happen again), they towed us back to hotel parking lot and spent the rest of the afternoon helping me work on the car. Turned out the timing belt had broken, but the bellman knew a mechanic that came to the hotel and worked on the car. It took two days...but it got fixed and for less than if I had taken it elsewhere. A modern hotel with all the amenities right on the marina. The local bus stops in front of the hotel for trips to downtown restaurants or to the larger city of Guaymas (15 miles). The ground floor can be noisy. I'll get a higher floor next time.

The Marinaterra Hotel was better than we expected! It was clean, clean, clean, comfortable and very well situated. We were on a driving trip through Mexico, and staying at this hotel gave us plenty to do without having to get in the car and drive around San Carlos. Several restaurants, bars and two beaches w/in walking distance. Plus just looking out […] at the mariana boats and lights from our balcony (we paid a little extra for the view) was fantastic. When we couldn't figure out how to work the heat control, the maintainance man showed us, then offered to get us ice. Friendly service everywhere. I've stayed at the Marinaterra two times so far for business. The accomodations are comfortable and clean. The desk staff speak very good English. So, checking in, checking out and getting any help is not a problem for those who do not speak Spanish. However, the maids do not speak English, but that's no different than most of the hotels in the US nowadays. […] The only problem I have is the location. Our two-double room (which was not upgraded), was adquate for our one-night stay before a dive trip, beginning the next day. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and tried their best to speak English (while we tried our broken Spanish.) Beds were a little hard/uncomfortable, but not the worse we've slept on. The balconies on the 3rd and 4th floors […] are tiny (accomodating one chair), but still nice view of marina and pools. Never got to use the pools, but they looked clean and well-maintained. Our traveling companions, who had a king room and a large patio on 2nd floor, actually had a worse time as there was construction going on in the room right above them. When they complained to the staff, nothing was done about it. The white construction dust floated onto their patio (and our breakfasts the next morning) and even went so far into the room. During our stay the were in the middle of major rebuilding construction which created lots of dust and noise, with the occasional concrete chunks falling on our deck. If we had been aware of the construction we would not have gone to this location. Overall it was not that enjoyable.
