When in great budget, travel to Bern would come light in the pocket when one stays at the Metropole Swiss Quailty Bern Hotel. It's but a 7-minute walk from the main train station and located in a busy section of the Swiss capital. My room is spacious and clean with well pressed bed sheets and fluffy pillows. Breakfast includes freshly baked bread, cereals, cold cuts, some local cheeses, yogurts and coffee brewed on the spot by its lady attendants. Travel to Switzerland has since become expensive but there are places to eat without breaking one's bank account like in Migros that comes with a restaurant and supermarket that offers fresh food, drinks, snacks,etc...There's a Migros just across from the Metropole. Bern is easily navigable by foot, so take a stroll, enjoy its fabulous sights, do a bit of shopping here and there, choose a cafe and order tasty pastries and at the end of the day, relax in comfort at the Metropole.

Locate in walking distance to the main train and metro station. Minutes walking from shops and restaurant. We got a nice room on the top floor and staff is friendly. I really want to give this hotel 5 stars however, if you are a light sleeper like I am , this may not be a good choice and this is why I only gave 4 stars. Both my husband wake up by loud noises around 6 in the morning and later we found out it was the noises from unloading the truck for the convenient store downstairs. The second night we could barely sleep . People were gathered drinking and parting below our building. It was so loud we could not sleep even our room is on the fifth floor ( the top floor) . The screaming and yelling finally ended at 3 am then 3 hours later the trucker unloading noises started again . I really want to like this hotel , convenient location , decent room and friendly staff . But because these noises, I don't think I will stay there again .

The hotel is well located right in downtown Biel. The building needs to be refurbished but the bed was comfortable and everithing was clean. Breakfast was CHF 20 and althaugh at 9am the dining room was empty I could not find a tables new set.Overal ok for a short stay.

Very nice hotel. Good value especially for Switzerland. Would stay here again. The only negative is Biel is pretty boring to visit. Recommend staying in Neuchatel if you have to be in the area. I was here for business and had rental car.

This was a good hotel. I'd stay there again. We (Americans) were able to get from the train station (gare) to the hotel via the bus system. The bus comes within a block of the hotel, which is an easy bag drag. Nice clean room, and our room had a balcony. The staff was great and helpful, too. The only down thing was the shower head clamp would not […] stay up. So, the shower head was about my waist, and when I needed it higher than that, I had to hold it. Other than that, this is just the type of hotel my wife and I look for when we are traveling. A nice, clean place to stay with comfortable beds and a water pot so we can make coffee or tea. The highlights of this hotel were the free minibar and wi fi. The mini bar was stocked each day with 2 waters, a coke and an orange juice. The wi fi was free only in the lobby or bar but this was fine with us and much better than most of the rest of Europe. The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the cozy neighborhood. cons: no air conditioning […] just a fan and our room was on the side by a busy street. The shower also had no door. The stay is comfortable. Room are clean and the bed is comfortable. And service is good. Unfortunately the gym is too small to advertise to have gym facilities. A little misleading.... Only one track mill and 2 bicycle machine. I am a little disappointed.

The hotel itself was fine but I ate with a group of colleagues in the Restaurant and the service was very slow, frankly I think they weren’t up to the job of serving more than a handful which was pity as the food was OK when it arrived (after about 2 hours).

Ich war überhaupt nicht zufrieden mit dem Service in diesem Hotel. Dies begann schon an der Rezeption. Da ich hier keine persönlichen Details erwähnen soll, kann ich auch nicht mehr dazu sagen. Sicher ist: ich werde dieses Hotel auf keinen Fall wieder buchen.

Leider hatte ich ein Superior Zimmer gebucht und bezahlt, jedoch ging dem Hotel nur die Buchung über ein gewöhnliches Einzelzimmer zu. Da das Hotel aber aufgrund einer Laufveranstaltung gut ausgebucht war, gab es kein Zimmer der gebuchten Kategorie mehr. Wir waren aufgrund der Bieler Lauftage 3 Nächte im Mercure Plaza. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich, die Zimmer sind sauber, nur die Ausstattung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Keine 4 Sterne nach deutschem Standard, aber auch für einen mehrtägigen Aufenthalt empfehlenswert, wenn man keine zu hohen Erwartungen mitbringt.

Gut gelegenes Hotel. Freundlicher Empfang, schönes Zimmer. Angenehme Sauna im 6. Stock. Auch die Bar ist gemütlich, Restaurants in der Umgebung. Alles bestens und komfortabel - vier Sterne Niveau eben. Tolles Frühstücksbüffet, jedoch muss man früh aufstehen, damit man davon profitieren kann ... leider zu knapp bemessen. Warum die Aufzüge nicht bis in die Tiefgarage führen (Aussteigen im EG, dann Treppe), ist mir ein Rätsel. Dålig "fart" på duschen, annars var rummet OK, tyst, lungt och skönt, eftesom vi hade rummet mot innergården. Vi hade tur med bilparkeringen, drekt utaför hotellets entre. Bra och gratis!!!
