AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN - Giddings

I've been coming to Giddings for several years to mentor kids at the state school. Over the years I have seen this hotel transform into a really nice place! The rooms have lots of space and are quite clean.

Americas Best Value Inn in Giddings, Texas was so disgusting that we left immediately after entering the room. The smell of cigarette smoke was so over powering that we felt sick to our stomachs. Very simple but clean. Staff very kind and friendly considering my 1:00 am arrival and my request to stay an extra 1/2 hour in the morning, would stay again. Recommend the hotel purchase new towels or tell customers to bring their own, the ones I got were very small and very thin.

When we approached the Hotel, it did not look very attractive. Very old, and kind of needing some good painting. But the room was all we needed to spend the night. It was clean, with all the essentials. There were not very many guests, so it was very quiet. For breakfast, maybe go to a donut shop in town, we saw a lot of them!

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. The room and common areas were clean and well cared for, if fairly old. The room had been renivated and the bathroom in particular was very nice. I stayed with my family here a few weeks ago. The only reason we stayed here is that every other hotel was booked. It is an older drive up motel style, which is fine for the price. It was relatively clean. The beds were fairly uncomfortable, but nothing you couldn't put up with for one night. However, the customer service was quite terrible. They were […] snappy and abrupt and seemed annoyed that I was bothering them. It was quite cold and I went to ask for a second blanket for my children's bed. The manager asked what was wrong with the one that was on the bed and didn't see any reason why I needed another. I explained they were cold and he literally tossed a blanket at me. My friend and I stayed here for a night before a charity bike ride. We were a little skeptical about what we would find in a small town, until we walked into the room. It was very clean and quite roomy. We were able to bring both of our bikes into the room overnight and did not feel cramped. Room appeared to be recently renovated. Room was nice size with accompanying bath that you could actually turn around in. Some cleanliness noted in the bath (side of tub and commode) but overall - very nice. Thank you for accepting dogs even with the additional fee it was appreciated.
