"Close to Cal Poly"
We would stay again. It was conveniently located. The in-room fridge , microwave, and table were very helpful to not have to go out anytime we wanted to eat or drink something. In walking distance to many shops and restaurants, too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No, no,no. This place should be avoided."
This place is way beneath Hotels.com standards. We booked on the phone, so I couldn't see photos. It was the most dismal room I've seen. Dirty, tired, old. The beds were ancient. The bathtub was gross. We lost two hours of our time in San Luis Obispo getting out of this place and finding something else. Hotel's.com was helpful. This place should not […] be included in your roster of hotels. For the same price we got a really nice room at the Lexington and were very, very happy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We chose this hotel for our 1 night stay because of the price. This hotel was truly one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The gentleman was rude when I went to check in, he actually sighed when he had to get up off the couch to check me in. It smelled very strong of some type of air freshener trying to cover smells. We had to leave the windows open […] for hours to dissipate the smell. They advertise the pool being heated, it was freezing! It was so noisy we struggled for hours to get to sleep. The only nice thing about this hotel was the nice flat screen Tv.... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to everything"
excellent location, inn was outdated and old looking on the outside but safe and friendly staff. Would definately stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bathroom and shower looked newly remodeled and were very nice. The room itself had an odd but, not unpleasant smell. Room itself looked old and bed was bit too firm for my taste.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very clean, comfortable bed, quiet. Building needs some maintenance. When I checked out, the guy wouldn't wake up, so I had to call him and leave the key on the counter. Other staff were very nice. Super close to campus. Great stop when watching football or attending a concert where you just need a place to sleep close to the action.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't waste your money!"
The service and room were terrible. I've never been in a room with such an overwhelming bad smell of disinfectant. The location was right under the freeway so it was continuously noisy. I had to leave after 10 minutes and was refused a refund. I recommend you remove this motel as an option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"3.5 Star 2 Star Hotel"
This place isn't a 3 or 4 star hotel. But it is a really good 2 star hotel. Front desk staff were polite, if not overly warm. Room was dated, but immaculate. Housekeeping staff was polite, friendly, and VERY efficient with a surprising attention to detail. The place is at a very busy intersection, adjacent to the freeway - so you hear a lot of car noise. […] Other than that, it isn't loud and rowdy. It looks sketchy, but it's totally safe. I stayed alone (female) and wasn't terrified. I came to get some writing done for a book project and it met my needs. Wifi was excellent, I could walk to someplace different for each meal. Only real drags were 1) the pool wasn't open and 2) I was on the second floor and there's no elevator, 3) the parking lot can get a little tight. If you are in town for a short stay and on a budget, give it a shot. You could do a LOT worse. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Poor. Stained sheets, blankets, towels, and chairs in room. Room didn't feel "clean." Room key didn't work initially. Last minute resort...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I wouldn't recommend it"
When we arrived in the evening, the lobby had an overwhelming curry odor in it. The clerk was okay, spoke broken English. We received one key, on the way to the room was a path littered with cigarette butts and trash(gross). When we entered our room, it wasn't the cleanest. The bathroom had a used bar of soap and wrapper in it, the curtains had some […] unidentified substance splattered on them. The bed was actually comfortable, that's the only positive. The "continental" breakfast is a joke! muffins quartered and coffee. They should call it was it is, cut up muffins. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else, its worth it Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Dated, no frills, not a romantic place. Bathrooms/ shower not very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was friendly. That is the only good thing about this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a great deal. Room was nice and had been recently remodeled Location was perfect and close to everything I needed in SLO. Front desk was helpful. Neighborhood was quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location, but a little dated"
Right off the 101, a 5 minute walk to downtown SLO, which is hard to beat at this pricepoint. You quickly realize though that you get what you pay for: doors that have trouble closing; dated carpets; grungy caulk in the bathrooms; even an old CRT television sitting in the corner, opposite the flatscreen mounted on the wall. I think the sign says continental […] breakfast, but we could find no such ammenity. I'd stay here again, but that's because I don't know of anything better, and it could always be worse. The soap and shampoo containers were not cleaned out of the shower from the previous guests, therefore, we did not shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to downtown and Cal Poly, but also to 101"
The three things I want from a hotel room are hot shower, big towels, reliable Internet. San Luis Inn got two of those right, but the towels are the kind you expect from a $50 room. It's well situated between Cal Poly and downtown SLO, but so is the freeway, so I imagine one's stay depends much on sensitivity to the sound of trucks rumbling by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fine if you have very low standards"
There were paint spots on the walls, stains all over the chairs, what looked like black burn marks on the mirror, and black stains all over the white bath towels. It doesn't cost much so It's fine if you have low standards and just need a bed, shower, and toilet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"San Luis Inn And Suites"
It neds to improve its outlook and cleanness of beds and bed sheets.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close in, inexpensive, clean and courteous"
A nice clean spacious room with a better than expected granite shower. It's very close to downtown and easy on and off the freeway. I came in on a motorcycle on a VERY cold night and the room warmed up pretty quickly and stayed toasty until I left. Not the Taj Mahal, but for the price, it met and exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here […] again the next time I come down on business. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
2 problems (1) The fire alarm went off at @am waking EVERYONE and it took 10 minutes of ear piercing pain to turn off. On the bright side everyone is assured it works and can wake the dead. (2) We checked into our room. Used the bathroom but accidentally pushed in the lock so locked ourselves out of the bathroom. Room service did not have a key or know […] how to unlock it so we had to pack up and move to another room. The key we were given did not work, so another trip up front to get mgt. to open the door. "NOT MY FIRST CHOICE"
WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED AT 9:30PM, I WAS TIRED FROM DRIVING, BUT FOUND THERE TO BE NO KLEENEX. I HAVE ALLERGIES SO USED TP. CALLED THE OFFICE AND TOLD THEY DON'T COME WITH KLEENEX. ABOUT 10 MINUTES, A MAN CAME AND BROUGHT ME A BOX. ALSO FOUND THE MOTEL WAS SUPPOSED TO COME WITH CABLE (DISH NETWEWORK) BY THE DISH ON THE BUILDING. PICTURE WAS SNOWY AND HAD […] TO TURN ON BY TV, CUZ THE BATTERY WAS MISSING FROM THE REMOTE. NEXT MORNING WHILE WAKING AND GETTING READY FOR MY DAUGHTERS' GRADUATION FROM CAL POLY, WENT TO OFFICE TO TELL THEM AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE (MGR.) DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO WORK IT, GAVE ME ANOTHER REMOTE, AND WAIT FOR THE MAN THAT BROUGHT THE KLEENEX THE NIGHT BEFORE. HE FOUND THAT PICTURE IS STILL SNOWY UNLESS U WATCH HIGHER CHANNELS. I COPED. Ok for an overnight stay of only 1 day. Great shower, great WIFI conncection in the room. But very noisy, old carpets and furniture, not very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Some were like new ( Toilet, bath tub..) but toilet was stuck, I couldn't use. Breakfast was free but I didn't eat (wasn't good), coffee was too bad (it seems to be too long time in the pot). This hotel wasn't bad because it was good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Never Again! Do Not Stay Here!"
Do not stay here unless you plan on partying all night. We didn't get any sleep! People were up, outside our room all night. The management did nothing. It was like that for 2 nights in a row. The beds are uncomfortable, the bathroom was grose. I think I had a rash from the chemicals in the bed, my eyes burned everytime I laid down in it. We were very […] unhappy with our stay. I wish I would have spent an extra $50 for a better hotel. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hard beds make for a rough night"
They have upgraded some of the decor, the the beds were so hard it was uncomfortable to sleep and made the stay unfavorable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only thing good about this place is that it is close to the freeway and downtown. The room smelled like baby powder and was musty. The bed was as hard as a rock. The bathroom was tiny, shower had nasty seals around the edges and the baseboard was held to the wall with blue masking tape. The included breakfast was never mentioned at check-in and […] I had to call back to the front desk to get internet connection information as it was also not offered at check-in. "Great Value and Location in SLO"
If you're looking for a "Motel 6ish" motel in central SLO which is close to Cal Poly and the downtown then this place is perfect for you. All the rants mentioned in the previous reviews are pretty much accurate such as the limited parking, the scary breakfast (so just skip it all together), and some noisy patrons (the low room price attracts college-aged […] kids so they tend to come back after the bars close very happy and extremely vocal). Overall, this motel is a good value so it helps to remember the amount you would be paying for other motels in the area when searching for a parking spot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ok for the money"
We planned a last minute trip and didn't want to spend too much seeing as the hotel was just for a shower and sleep. Location is good, right next to the 101 freeway. Rooms are a little dated and basic. The carpet was ripped in some spots, patched hole in the bathroom wall, and the shower drain was plugged so I stood in about 6 inches of water while […] showering. There is not a lot of parking so if you have small kids prepare to lug them and your bags a little distance if they are busy. Beds very pretty hard but the sheets and towels were very clean. Staff is very friendly and polite. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not happy at all.....cracked tiles under the sink, trash from a previous occupant in the bathroom window, mold in the bathroom window and on the ceiling, walls were thin and could hear everything. My room had a connecting door to the room next door....came back from brunch with some friends and smelled marijuana by that door.....in my room! Those same […] neighbors decided to have a knock down, drag out arguement, including a guy hitting his girlfriend IN THE PARKING LOT FOR ALL TO HEAR......and no one, not even management, bothered to call the police or tell them to keep it down. The room was clean and neat. It suited our needs, the only thing is we were looking for some coffee when got there late at night and there was no coffee maker in the room seems petty but an important factor especially early in the morningGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK if you need a cheap place that's mediocre"
This hotel has streets on two sides, and the freeway on the third side, so it's far from quiet. If you can deal with traffic all night long, it's probably worth it since it seems to be one of the cheapest places to stay. The room was superficially clean but it's an older place that hasn't been kept up. The whirlpool tub was broken. The continental […] breakfast is a joke with only coffee, OJ, and cheap muffin cut in 1/4's. There was supposedly cereal on some days but they didn't put it out because they were out of milk! "Only if you are desperate for shelter"
Why would the bedding(sheets, etc) be thrown out side on ground in corner of stairs..not in a laundry hauler or anything!!! "Close to Downtown"
It was close to Downtown and walking distance to the City to the Sea Half-Marathon start line... Yes, it is near Highway 101 but so were similar priced hotels. Yes it is an older hotel but I just need a place to sleep not a afternoon spa treatment... No frills, clean bed, working shower, etc. Just the basics.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Parent's Weekend @ SLO"
The hotel is conveniently located, rooms are a bit sparse (frig & microware, but no coffeee pot) bt batroom area has recently ben renovated and is very nice. Continental breakfast is coffee, juice, raisen bran, and quartered muffins....not so great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fine for a one-nighter."
Not enough onsite parking for the number of guests. Had to park on the street overnight ... not too comfortable with that. It was okay for an overnight stay. Pool looked dirty and unattended.Genuine Expedia guest review
inside rooms are cleaner than the way the hotel looks from the outside. for the price of lodging in San Luis Obispo, it is reasonable. free wi-fi. the remodeled bathroom and sink area are nice and clean. The carpet is old and dirty (do not go barefoot). the Inn has a more motel feel about it. really great locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to freeway, close to downtown. Old hotel, old stuff, toilet seat, towels, comforters, etc. Managers nice and helpful. Quiet surroundings.. For what you get it should cost less. But if your not going to be in the room that long it's just ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok but needs work"
The bathroom was in poor condition. No coffee maker either.Genuine Expedia guest review
The bathroom is nice which is kind of important to me. I also liked the mini fridge and microwave. The carpets need to be updated. Was very impressed with the quality of hotel based on the low nightly rate we were paying. Main complaint was the parking lot as it was very small and had very tight spaces once it was full.
