Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Met our needs throughout, decent stay!"
11/19/14 Mark T Irvine, United Kingdom
Just back from a long weekend at this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Before I start I would recommend getting a private transfer to Lloret as we were at the hotel within 20 minutes. Check in was easy and our room was on the first floor so easy up one flight of stairs or take the lift if you have a lot of luggage. We arrived about 9pm so still had time to have a few drinks and popped out to a local bar to watch the football. Staff were not of a great help when we asked where the nearest bar would be showing football, but did point us in the right direction eventually and local bar Rabbies is great with very friendly staff. We returned for a few drinks in the bar at the hotel a bit later and were staying on an all inclusive basis. We were given cards when checking in, which you swap for a 'glass', which is plastic and you have to take back to the bar every time you want another drink, then when you are done swap back for a card. There are signs saying all inclusive is from 1pm check in to 1pm on the day you check out so not great if you have a late flight home, but think this tends to be the norm. The food in the hotel was ok with a large selection of salads available and various hot selections, usually pork and obviously plenty of fish with it being a coastal resort. I am not the biggest fish fan, but tried a few with various success, but just be careful of bones. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The clientele was mostly elder Spanish guests with Saturday being very busy. I suspect a day trip was in and we had to queue to get into the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast on Sunday morning. Our room was neat and tidy and only used as a base to sleep, but was cleaned each day. There was a safe, but we did not use this so I am unsure of the charge. The hotel itself had a large games room, which the kids used often. I would recommend that they change the pool tables to one euro rather than two and more people would use them. Outside there was a volleyball court, which caught the sun between about 11-2pm so was useful. There were also table tennis available and a large kids play park. The pool area was the most intriguing as it was a large swimming pool with a small kids pool, but was clearly closed for the winter. However, there was no signage to say so and it was not cordoned off. It was just visible to the human eye with the amount of flies and dust and leaves in the pool that it was no longer being cleaned. This was a disappointment as despite the pool likely being too cold anyway, the weather was nice in the afternoon so it would have been helpful if the kids could at least have dipped their feet in the small pool without fear because it was so dirty. Next to the bar there was a nice outside seating area that caught plenty of sun in the afternoon and was good to have a couple of drinks. However, beware of the cats. There were about 8 roaming around and I would not recommend eating in this area. I seen a few guests with packets of crisps and suddenly their table was surrounded by the cats. Not for me. The snack area for the all inclusive guests consisted of one large rectangular pizza, burgers, hot dog type sausages and crisps. I felt this could have been shaded better as it was in contact with the sun for most of the afternoon as it was placed right next tot the window. The food was lukewarm, but there was a microwave next to it. The kids appreciated the crisps. There is a separate area for all inclusive drinks and sometimes I felt as if we were not priority for the staff, who would often disappear and despite the bar area being relatively quiet you could wait a good few minutes to be served. Downstairs to the hotel there are signs for Victory Pub, but this was closed during our visit so I am unsure what this place would be like. The only time it was open was for a private party, but the toilets are the nearest to the bar area. Overall, the hotel met our expectations and the weather was decent for our visit so I would use again.
"A solid 3 star European hotel"

The hotel offered clean rooms of adequate size, reasonable location with a short walk to the main shopping area, easy access to a small beach, and adequate food. The food is not memorable, but adequate in its preparation and selection. I was traveling with a student group. The price offerings met our needs.

Dirty & smelly rooms. Beds very plain & hard. Bath had lots of marks in. We were on the 6th floor and the room had lots of ants. No A/C in room. Food not nice, plain, fish on menu all the time. Tables were always full, so had to clean table before sitting down for food, which the hotel people should of done. Unfriendly hotel.
"Absolutely shocking customer service"
11/03/14 jacob387 London, United Kingdom
The hotel itself may not be that bad - 3 stars is all what I would give it though- but the customer service one receives when dealing with staff here is just shocking. Not only a guest is treated here with an absolute lack of any care but also a respect required for a person who paid for the holiday. You try to get a basic stuff like a clean towel or soap to your room - good luck, not to even mention the treatment you get at the reception desk from ignorant staff members who try very hard to be as unfriendly, incompetent and oblivious to basic customer needs as they can. I would hardly recommend to stay away from this location as far as possible!
"Lovely Hotel & Area"

I had a great time here, don't know why people complain about this Hotel. We found the staff very helpful. We needed access to a fridge for our insulin cartridges & received a card key for this cupboard in reception area which had 2 fridges, one for medication & one for baby food. No problems. The food was excellent, Abdul on the grill station makes a mean omelette & the roast veal we had on our last night was absolutely fantastic!!! There was plenty of salad, fish dishes, chicken & pasta along with grill station where a different protein was cooked every night. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the king prawns! We asked for a room near the lift & got one opposite it, new beds but still needed the bathroom update but it was cleaned every day with clean towels, just follow the rules of leave them on the floor, try to be eco-friendly like them. If like us you have walking difficulties then keep this hotel in mind, there is a local bus the L2, which runs to & from Lloret de Mar via Fenals every 20 mins until Nov. The fare is 1.30euro's each & it is a circular bus which means you get on & off at the same stop or any stop on the prom etc. It takes you to the bus station in LLoret from there you can get the bus to Barcelona or Girona. It makes a nice round trip which takes about 45mins. One final thing, if you don't think your food is hot enough, there are 2 microwaves in the dining room for your use, opposite the bar! so no further excuses please.

One star from me is being very generous. I don't know how this place has a 3 star rating. The rooms were tiny. Four beds side by side with no space between. Two plugs in the room just not enough and one was for the "TV". Poor selection of food, went to McDonalds or Burger King downtown every night. Room was just an enlarged cupboard. Security guard was very ignorant and almost blew down our door and threatened to call the police for making noise, when it was the people next door up all night. Wasn't much of a security guard, wouldn't do well chasing after someone. On another occasion he searched my pockets for no particular reason. No free wifi.
"Do not believe the moaners!!"

We were dubious after reading some of the negative remarks but we were pleasantly surprised. We went on a shearings all inclusive as a group of four 50 year olds. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful all spoke English. The buffet was something we were concerned about but we always found something to eat and were never hungry, plenty of veg on offer plus a selection of meat dishes, They served fried eggs or omelettes at breakfast despite comments there were none. The rooms were tired and basic but were cleaned every day along with fresh towels beds were firm but not uncomfortable.Yes they could do with a coat of paint but lets be fair you only sleep in them not spend the day . The entertainment was mainly dj's playing a variety of music to get the dance floor filled, it was ok.As soon as the entertainment finished ( our room was above the dance floor ) the hotel became quiet and we had undisturbed nights sleep every night. The very worst thing was the snacks on offer through the day, they consisted of crisps and uncovered pizzas and burgers ( no burger buns but dry sliced white bread ) flies had a field day on them and we never touched them. My advice steer clear.we were pleased with the drinks, measures very generous. Had a swim in the pool which was nice and clean. You get what you pay for , we went on a cheap and cheerful break and were happy with what we received. Met some lovely people and laughed from start to finish, a holiday is what you make it folks, enjoy.

first of all this hotel is not a 3 star hotel, its filthy! went for a week at the beginning of October and room is super basic (12" TV!) food ok but not great, my girlfriend got food poisoning two days before coming home and so spent last 2 days in bed! considering that was the only place we ate due to all inclusive! Bar staff Ok but one drink at a time rule is annoying! receptionists were unhelpful and grumpy to say the least! pool area needs updating as not nice at all and also people were using the emergency pool equipment with no-one stopping them! Overall spend a another £50 and you could get a much nicer hotel!

Wasnt expecting much after reading some of the reviews on here about the hotel so when we arrived I was pleasantly suprised! Arrived mid morning with shearings coaches so a lot of us checking in at once but it all run smoothl, got our all inclusive wristbands and reception staff where lovely! The hotel is ideally situated (although on a hill), short walks to both beachs, the shops and the strip! All inclusive drinks was run on a card system so you gave your card in exchange for a drink and took your plastic beaker everytime you wanted a drink where they will give you a fresh beaker for your drink (read on here they dont) plus the bar staff were friendly and not tight on the measures of spirits either :) The entertainment was different to at home but as for people saying there was no english at all the majority of songs where in english and sung in english, there was some in other languages but they were catering for a mixed audience! There was also a reptile and parrot show! Meal times are very busy and I would recommend finding a table before you get your food, but there is a lot to choose from and something different on the grill every day! The quality of food isnt bad but its not 5* either, but its tasty and filling and for what you pay is more than expected! The rooms are basic with a balcolny but are cleaned to a high standard! House keeping staff where brilliant, beds made everyday, fresh towels, even tidied up all our rubbish and folded clothes! Your holiday is what you make of it and we had a fantastic time! The weather for time of year we went was better than we thought, would definately recommend late September as the resort is still just in summer season so 95% of everything is still open but the resort is a lot quiter! Which also ment that the hotel although fairly busy was a lot quieter than what I imagine it would if been in summer and a brilliant time to take children! The pool was clean and plenty of deck chairs for everyone and there was also a children's outdoor play area! Would just like to mention how brilliant and stress free travelling with shearings was! (We are already planning out next trip) Yes the hotel could do with a lick of paint on the outside but why let that bother you, overall we had a fantastic week in lloret, the hotel was excellent value for money and we would definately go again!
The Samba hotel was clean and the staff were friendly . Food was good and plenty of it along with the drink. We got what we paid for . The location of the hotel was good every thing in walking distance .Had a great time lots of laughter
