I won't be hesitate to stay there again. The staffs are very friendly, very helpful and polite. It's located at the good environment, so it's secure there. The stairs are a little bit narrow and tiny, but it's fancy. But it could be the best place with it's price.

Plantage hotel is in a nice quiet area about 15 mins walk from the centre of Amsterdam, or a couple of minutes on the very closeby trams. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. The room was basic as expected but perfectly adequate and clean. The room came with a private wetroom, TV, two twin beds pushed together, and a window with a nice view over the main street in the Plantage area. Overall, I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind walking a bit into the city centre.

It is close to transport but the downside is the noise of the trams that is constant.

Bed was comfortable, staff were very pleasant and helpful, quiet location close to centre. The stairs are very steep, and the the attic rooms get very hot in the sunshine, but I would definitely consider staying here again

me and my partner and a group of friends visited amsterdam, the plantage is about 15min walk from the red light district but the fresh air was good lol, would def go back!!!

Good hotel for the price and easily accessible both by walking and the tram. Friendly staff.

If you don't mind walking a little this hotel is perfect and the staff is very helpful. Be mindful that you have a key to come and go and the staff never enters your room while you are there. Smoking is allowed (all substances) and it may affect your stay, but our room didn't have much of a smell and it's right across the street from the zoo!

The hotel was in a good position. We didn't expect it to be fantastic, just clean, but when we arrived it was very cold and we went to get the extra blanket which was filthy. It was covered in a disgusting brown stain and the pillow cases also looked old and stained. The staff said it would be replaced the next day, but this wasn't done. When it was eventually taken away it was not replaced. There was only one very good member of staff. The rest were very lax and didn't take responsibility for any of the complaints. They don't really cater for couples as we had twin beds that we had to put together, but wouldn't stay together, so that was a bit impractical. It wasn't awful, and if it was a bit cleaner and the staff were a bit more responsible it would have been ok for the price.

Very friendly at front desk. Nice little place close to the Zoo and in a good neighborhood. Tram stop just out the front door. Very steep winding stairs to get to room. No real lobby/formal entry (kind of hidden)- so press the intercom to access building the first time. Outside key to come and go as you please. Not disturbed during stay.

The staff was very friendly. They directed us to all the nearby coffeeshops and went out of their way to give us other local information. Avoid bringing heavy bags or big suitcases, as you'll have to walk up a few flights of very close, narrow stairs. This place desperately needs an elevator. Great hotel though if you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Amsterdam. Hotel had a PC terminal there as well, which you could use 24/7.

THE ROOM THEY GAVE US AT THIS HOTEL WAS TERRIBLE, WITH A MOLD SMELL SO BAD WE COULDN'T USE THE BATHROOM. WHEN WE COMPLAINED TO THE DESK CLERK, HIS RESPONSE WAS "IT'S AN OLD HOTEL". THE BLANKETS WERE DIRTY AND SMELLED LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKE AND SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS IN THE ROOM DIDN'T WORK. ONLY WHEN WE ACCIDENTALLY RAN INTO THE OWNER OF THE HOTEL TWO DAYS LATER DID HE AGREE TO MOVE US INTO A DIFFERENT ROOM THAN STILL HAD A MOLDY SMELL, BUT NOT AS BAD AS THE FIRST ROOM. I WOULD AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. ONE LAST THING: THE SAME DESK CLERK MADE US PAY AN EXTRA 10 EUROS FOR A "CITY TAX" WHEN WE CHECKED IN AND WOULDN'T GIVE US A RECEIPT...HE TOLD US IF WE DIDN'T PAY THE TAX WE WOULD HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY.

Close to the City Center and easy acess to transportation.

Location was good - right in front of a tram stop. Short walk to major attractions/easy access to transportation. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Also - there is one computer in the lobby to use the internet. Helpful staff!

The Plantage is in a nice location and convenient to public transportation. There are several restaurants in close vicinity. Unfortunately the hotel itself was a disappointment. You enter through an inconspicuous door on the street and is faced with narrow steep stairs to the second floor where a small reception area is located. The person attending it was not friendly and looked unhappy to be disturbed. I was assigned a room right next to reception and it was noisy at times but not intolerable. The room condition - two small single bed (comfortable enough) and nice shower/WC, but the curtains were torn, lighting inadequate, the safe box did not work and electrical extension cords are strung to several places.

This hotel was a great place to stay for my boyfriend and I. While this hotel is not in the center of all the activity it is a short walk (safe for a girl like me to do at night) to all the amsterdam night life. It was quite and clean and had internet for us to use. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The only negative is that you do have to cary your luggage up a winding staircase but overall it was a terrific experience. I would def. stay there again.

Our room was an 'efficiency', unexpected and welcome huge space by Eurpean standards. There is no elevator and a steep spiral staircase, so beware if you have large heavy bags. If the other rooms were like ours (#22) this would be an ideal hotel for an extended stay in Amsterdam; you can store food in the fridge, and there is a small dining table as well as desk. We got i/net wireless in our room. The owner/manager speaks excellent English and was quite helpful in arranging a cab and in giving city information. He is a treasure.

Alt var dårlig. Det mest irriterende var, i tillegg til hotellets dårlige standard i forhold til pris, at jeg måtte betale "5% tourist tax" i tillegg ved ankomst, selv om hotels.com anga total pris inklusive skatter og avgifter ved bestilling!

Hotellet ligger en 5-6 stationer med spårvagn från Centralstationen, ca 10 minuters färd & precis vid tågstationen Plantage. Mycket trevlig personal, mycket informativa & rummen är rymliga, rena & hela! Kan absolut rekommendera det!

hotel viellot,peu ou pas entretenu,escaliers raides et étroits,moquette tachée,pas d'ascenseur,salle d'eau avec un trou d'évacuation au milieu qui n'évacue pas,un balai est d'ailleurs à disposition,siege toilette mal fixé,odeur de renfermé,pas central donc pas pratique mais trams proches,fenetre qui ne ferme pas,dans un recoin un eme matelas par terre et deux oreillet donc cette soi-disant penderie inutilisable.Lits tres confortables et propres .Le patron parle francais et reste sympathique.Chambre trente et un à déconseiller !!!!!

Hotellet bærer preg av være ombygget boligus, med maksimal plassutnyttelse, smale/bratte trapper, ingen fellesarealer, nokså slitt, men hadde med enkle løsninger fått inn grunnleggende fasiliteter/funksjoner. Badet var trist. Men beliggenheten var god i forhold til restauranter og off. kommunikasjoner (bl.a. trikk fra dør til dør til/fra Sentralbanestasjonen). Rt greit og billig alternativ for gjester som ikke er nøye på standard, og ikke har behov for å oppholde seg mye på hotellet.

J'ai été obligé de payer des taxes supplémentaires et ça, ça fait pas vraiment plaisir pour une réservation supposée être TTC. Pas de petit dej. Les toilettes qui fuient. L'horreur!!!

Absence de propreté, chambres mal odorantes, je ne suis pas resté et pour le même prix j'ai pu trouver un 3* à Amstedam Down Town. On a pas le droit de proposer ce type d'hôtel sur le web, l'entrée de l'hôtel ressemble à un coupe gorge. état général de l'immeuble déplorable. Ne ressemble pas du tout à la publicité faite sur le site.

Auf den ersten Blick etwas heruntergekommene Absteige, aber gute Betten, blitzsauberes Bad und ein sehr hilfsbereiter junger Mann an der Rezeption. Kühlschrank und Fön im Zimmer funktionierten, Heizung auch, Münz-Kaffeeautomat auf dem Flur auch. Vom Hauptbahnhof gut zu erreichen (Straßenbahn vor der Tür)
