Hotel Tugu Bali - Bali

There is nothing quite like Tugu Bali. While Canggu Beach leaves much to be desired, Tugu is itself a destination worth visiting. I only wish I had had more time to take it all in.

We chose this hotel as it was close to a good surfing beach. We also stayed for one week on the Bukit Peninsula. This was a bit remote and we had to have a driver (complimentary) take us to some destinations such as Kuta and Seminyak. The drivers spoke English very well and were quite accommodating. The room was beautiful. My only complaint was that […] the bathroom floor should have been mopped. However, I don't mop my own bathroom on a daily basis. The plunge pool was big and very private, but did not get sun since it was covered. The beach was nice, with the exception of stray dogs. The hotel should consider some sort of deterrent for the stray dogs. There were always staff members posted at the beach loungers to provide any service you may want. We took full advantage of the afternoon tea service (complimentary) and huge breakfast. This breakfast was outstanding and always too big to finish. We loved having our private romantic dinners in a different location every night. This hotel was very special and the staff made it very memorable. We never once saw the housekeeping service working, but our room was always refreshed by early morning and the turn down service was lovely. Every meal was a work of art. It was so relaxing to take our time during dinner and enjoy it without being rushed. If you want an authentic cultural experience, visit the market- not for squeamish people or those accustomed to shopping at Whole Foods. Read more

Could not speak more highly of this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating to all our needs and the layout and decoration of it was spectacular. It is a little out of the way of the main town but the hotel is happy to arrange free transport when they can, and reliable taxis all other times. Everything about this hotel is magical. It started with a free airport pick up with cool towels and fruits, and then arriving into the Bale Agung Hall was romantic and breath taking. We stayed in a Dedari suite which was private with its own plunge pool, and outdoor bathroom surrounded by koi carp pond. The turn down service and constant yet invisible […] restocking of towels and water was thoughtful and well measured with flower displays and beautiful notes left everyday. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and very well kept. The location is right by the beach, and its very tranquil. The spa is amazing and we were given free massages as we stayed for a week. The new year celebrations were super, again the thought and effort was incredible. The staff are by the far the best I have expereinced in any hotel, and organised us personal itineries for visits with lots of helpful advise. The best hotel I've ever stayed at! The room was stunning, modern but with a local charm that made you feel like you were somewhere exotic. Waking up to the sights and sounds of the ocean everyday was what we were after The staff were all so friendly, from the gardeners to the hotel manager. Always there with a smile and a hello. The location was away […] from the crammed tourist joints, and was so much more peaceful for it, but it was only quick cab ride to get amongst it when you wanted to. There were a few great little local joints to eat at that were walking distance, most notably was Deus Ex Machina for a great coffee and to see their locally made surf boards and bikes. the location of tugu was good. its smack on Canguu beach and you can take lovely strolls to see the surfers up early doing their thing. HOwever, the hotel is rather dark and a little spooky. despite it being a bright gorgeous bali day outside as soon as i arrived at check in i was a little worried about my decision to stay here. it's dark and a little […] dank and musty, becuase of it's museum hotel everything is rather old and tho beautiful, just dark and musty. however, my bedroom was really good. Dont take the downstairs rooms (dark) but upstairs is great. The view/room service food is fab. Un des plus beaux hotels que je connaisse ou le service client est poussé a l'extreme avec raffinement sans être trop pressant. Proche du temple Tanah lot et pas trop loin de l'aéroport de Denpassar ce qui évite trop de voiture pour aller ou venir de l'Aéroport
