My partner and I chose the Pearl last minute to come for 6 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best however there were still plenty of activities at the hotel to entertain us. We recommend doing the Lovo traditional night. The food was wonderful and the dancing very entertaining. We will […] definitely be back for another visit very soon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just what we needed."
We enjoyed our stay at the Pearl Resort in Pacific Harbour. Highlights are the friendly staff and pleasant, well tended grounds with a wide array of activities available. This was our first trip to Fiji so I have listed our opinions of some pros & cons in choosing the Pearl against other choices. Pros : Friendly & helpful staff. Stylish surroundings […] in the building. Pacific Harbour is a centre for adventure activities so there are plenty of activity choices based here, & the resort maintains a good daily activities list, quite a number are free. Good food at the 2 restaurants on-site, plus a variety of other eateries at the Arts Centre 10 minutes walk away. Nice pool. Clean, quiet, white-sand beach, but the water was a little murky when we were there. 50 mins drive or frequent buses to Suva. Close to Beqa Island & lagoon for snorkelling & diving on the coral reef. We tried the riverboat trip upriver to Namuamua & also jetskiing which were both great. Cons : Pacific Harbour is about 3 hours drive from Nadi Airport, meaning long transfers at the start & end of a visit. The weather in Pacific Harbour in June seemed to be a bit cloudier than on the west coast nearer Nadi. The Pearl is good for couples & families but younger holidaymakers wanting to party till late might do better elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"very relaxing and great adventure lovers"
They forgot to arrange our pickup but aside from that all else went well. Travellers need to allow for the 3hr drive from Nadi airport (costs approx $200 FJD) and if arriving after 5pm you don't see much of the countryside. The proximity to the beach and to activities such as the Jetski Safari (next door), river rafting and shark dive is definitely […] a big +. The golf course linked to the hotel also very good and very affordable. Also enjoyed the fact that it is right away from more hectic Nadi and Suva. You get to meet real locals who are the friendliest people you'll ever meet. The hotel pool and range of free activities and food was fantastic. Bear in mind that it is slightly cooler down this part of Fiji and rains a bit more than Nadi - even inthe dry season. Coral Sun coach offers very good service to and from Nadi ($20 FJD p/p). Stops just outside the resort entrance (100m walk to the resort). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel - would definitely recommend it"
Overall we thought this hotel was great. We would recommend to couples, families, and corporates. The common areas were lovely and the grounds were superb. The staff were overall very nice and a particular mention to some staff who just went above and beyond for us and were ever so friendly. The food for Fijian night was delicious. Aside from that, […] the food generally was nice (not outstanding, but nice) having said that, it was very well priced for a resort (as were the drinks). The only slight issue was the room - it was adequate but nothing special - certainly not the worst we have stayed in but far from the best (but considering the amount we were paying per night compared to other resorts we can't complain). The shower was a bit of an issue though with no shelves to put anything on and it flooded the bathroom floor every time we used it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"" THE PEARL""
The shower on two separate occasions stopped working mid stream. On the second time this happened we threatened, should this happen again, we demanded to be up-graded to another room. It never happened again,& the pressure actually improved. The bed had a very loud squeak when-ever there was any slight movement. On the positive, the staff were very friendly […] and the general layout along with the amenities the resort offered were good. Picked this resort based on some of the reviews on this site. Am very pleased to add to the positive comments too. My wife and I celebrated our marriage on the hotel's beach. The staff there made the whole day special and stress free. We are planning on making it a yearly visit to THE PEARL because of this experience. We visited two other hotels/resorts […] after our PEARL stay and was always comparing services and the staff especially. THE PEARL pretty much won hands down regardless of the fact we got married there. If you like value for money, the quiet and friendly staff as well being within good distance to Suva by bus then THE PEARL is for you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not good enough, cold crap food, everything closed"
Mostly staff are wonderful, until nearer the end of your stay when cracks start to appear. The food is simply awful. I was served cold food twice, all food is repurposed and reheated (ie. left over dinner gets served for tomorrow's lunch) and burnt pizza twice (once burnt so badly they cut the edges off and served me a square pizza! Not a word said!) Nice […] location and on the sea front but not as plush as it looks. Showers are grim though hot and rooms generally tired and worn. They make most of their money through conferences so close facilities every day. I.e don't think you can get away from the crap food by eating in the posh mantarae restaurnt, it's closed almost every night for a function! When we left, no one asked how our stay was, they aren't interested in feedback. They know the score. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel and location."
Fantastic hotel and location. We would stay there again. About 2 - 3 hours from Nadi Airport. We went with private transfer for a more direct trip. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Lots of staff around, always. Excellent beach, well-protected and great for swimming. Perfect location for doing all the activities Pacific Harbour has to offer. […] Freedive Charters (for snorkelling/gamefishing/spearfishing) leave from the dock at the Pearl and have an office near the pool there. Jet Ski Safari and Terra Trek are a 5 minute walk along the beach. Zip Line Fiji was a 30 minute drive. Shark dive was also accross the road. The restaurants were great. The Mantarae, fine dining, was well priced. The food was very high quality. The hotel also had lots of ran lots of activities and theme nights. There were also a couple of mini-marts accross the road. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Choice for a Fijian Experience"
We spent 5 nights here at end of May 2013 & as our first time in Fiji, the resort & it's staff made us feel very welcome & really want to return. The rooms are generous size for 2 adults, & a child, or 3rd person, rooms have a king & single bed - which would be fine for someone who is not 6 foot tall. The staff are so very friendly. The moment we walked […] into reception, it was smiles, all around & they couldn't have been more helpful. No request was too much trouble (not that we are very demanding anyway), we felt like we could ask for anything, (unlike some hotels/and resorts who make you feel guilty for asking a simple question). The food was 'scrumptious' with good variety & excellent presentation. The bistro has high quality meals & the cocktails were always varied and 'yummy'! The prices were also very fair with the mains mostly $25-$35 Fijian (about $14-$20 Australian), and these were meals far superior to what you would expect in an Australian 'Bistro'. They had a couple of themed nights when we were there & we recommend going to the 'Lovo, traditional feast' where the food is cooked in a pit the Fijian way and they have traditional Fijian music and dancers performing while you enjoy the buffet. The resort is beachfront, they have a wonderful range of free & low cost activities on-site and you can walk 10 minutes up the road to the only Fijian Cultural Centre on the island to take in the Fire walking, Kava Ceremony and Temple Tour, or shop for souvenirs & food Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I was new to the 'laze around in a Fijian resort for a week' thing, so thought I'd try the Pearl. First thing is that is ages (over 2 hours) from Nadi where we flew in, so make sure you arrange transport. The hotel staff are welcoming and helpful, There is a nice reception area. Our room (garden view) was tidy in its decor and best of all it was AIR […] CONDITIONED! The bathroom was good, but somehow the floor gets very wet every time you shower. Bed was adequately comfy. Room service was excellent. The resort itself has its own sandy beach, as well as a nice pool (with poolside bar). The restaurant was excellent, as was the complementary breakfast. Only problem I had was that after a few days, the cost of the bar and the excellent restaurant (which seemed to set its prices based on what it would cost in an Australian restaurant) added up. Not only that, there weren't a lot of activities at the resort (without paying Australian sized prices), and it did seem a bit quiet at the time we were there. There is a village just outside the resort though, and it has restaurants and shops of its own - good enough for us. It is about a 45min bus ride from Suva, but buses seem regular enough. Overall it was a comfortable place to stay, but either have activities planned, or be prepared to fork out for them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good despite the cyclone"
Despite starting to show its age, this is a good hotel. Location is a killer with the beach 50m from your room. Breakfast is good and dinner meals are above average. The gym is well equipped and must have one of the best views you could get whilst sweating. Definitely do the following; take your own alcohol & snacks for your room & when the bar shuts, […] take good books and music as there is not a lot to do (other than relax), take inspect spray, visit the cultural centre (two vgood restaurants, killer local massage at the back, supermarket and bank - don't change $'s at the hotel) Also after dinner take your partner and new friends to the deck behind the beach bar, (don't forget your own alcohol, snacks & music with portable speakers. It started as our secret spot but ended up party central. Enjoy Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"100% recommended accommodation in Fiji!"
We spent the last week of May 2013 at the hotel. We are a middle aged couple who were escaping busy work schedules and teenage children for a week. Also at the hotel were families from all over. We were very impressed with how the hotel and the staff catered for all groups of guests in such weather so well. It poured with rain for the 6 days of our […] stay and it was very difficult to participate in usual island activities. You wouldn't have known it when dealing with the staff though. The hotel is very well staffed making for very prompt service at all times. The staff always had a smile on their face and nothing is a problem. The two restaurants provide varying menus and beautiful local and more international cuisine. There was always a wide choice of meals and again every meal or drink is served with a smile. The hotel's spa is excellent with top quality treatments. Miss Fiji International was going to be held at the hotel on the day that we left and there were many extra staff in to set up for the wet weather at late notice but existing guests were still treated with the utmost care and attention. We would absolutely, positively recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great value but some areas need to be updated"
We booked a flights and accommodation package but had we booked these separately then we would have looked at flight options to Suva as Nadi was a two and a half hour drive away from the resort. Overall the resort is nice and excellent value for money for the rate we booked through expedia but definitely in need of a coat of paint and some finishing […] needs updating as it's a bit dated in places i.e rips in furniture, overgrown areas of the path and uneven floor finishing in places. These are all just cosmetic though as the main thing is that it is spotlessly clean and they seem to have a huge number of housekeeping staff. The staff were all very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.Personally the most disappointing area was the spa as I booked two treatments and both ended up being with the same employee who must have just had lunch before the first booking as she burped and coughed during the hour and that cough clearly progressed to a flu by the second booking as she coughed, sneezed and spluttered throughout! Lastly then, if you want to purchase water during your stay then either buy it in the hotel shop (not the bars) or alternatively visit the small convenience shop just outside the resort as the prices range from 2.50 Fijian dollars in the shop outside the resort to 6.95 Fijian dollars in the resort for a litre bottle of water. "beautiful resort with average food"
when i arrived i was expecting tuquoise water and white sand, like is in the picture. i was a little disappointed and it was explained that the turquoise water and white sand is not there anymore because of the clear cutting on the mainland. an excursion to one of the smaller islands is where we found the white sand and turquoise water. the hotel itself […] is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. the food is just slightly above average with the variety being the downside: there isnt a lot of variety. We had an amazing week at The Pearl. Beautifully maintained gardens, grounds and pool. Even the beach is tidied daily. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, lovely to be looked after by people who genuinely love their jobs. The in-house Spa is gorgeous and reasonably priced. Plus the hotel organises activities during the day. Loved the Happy […] Hour band and of course the cocktails. Buffet breakfast also is included. "My breakfast experience at Pacific Pearl Resort"
I would not recommend this resort to any one, mainly for one reason. My breakfast experience was very disappointing. There was not much variety of food, and the one that was offered was very uninviting, not up to the 4 star resort standart. We've had a buffet breakfast one morning at the Intercontinental Golf Resort in Natadola Bay, paid only F$ 12 […] more for it, but the food there was superb. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The location of this hotel is great in that it eliminates the stop over in Nadi that you often have if travelling to an island. The room was amazing (French provincial), food and cocktails great, and the staff friendly and professional. The beach is great for swimming (not so much snorkelling) and is good at both high and low tide. My favourite thing […] was probably the spa, amazing! My only complaint, which was not of the hotel, is that the snorkelling in the area was not as good as other parts of Fiji we have been to. There were plenty of fish, though the coral was all dead. "A Great Stay, and Experience for First-Timers"
The stay at the Pearl was great. It was really great just to relax, and do nothing. There is always something going on around the Pearl. The beach around the hotel was a little more murky, but a worthwhile swim, with the water being a lot more warmer than the hotel pool. You can grab dinner, breakfast, lunch, by a table, or bungalow on the beach. The […] bistro had excellent food, my Fiancee, and I were quite impressed. Take advantage of the Inland tours, it is a great experience, and a good way of getting to see Fijian culture, within a day. Also take advantage and take the Pearl's excursions to Yanuca Island for a bit of beach relaxation, and snorkelling experience. The water is a nice bluey-green, swimming was excellent. Also spend a little time at the Arts Village in Pacific Harbour, in order to pick up some decent handicrafts, beautiful fijian made dresses, and sarongs, which are all safe to bring back through Australian Customs. Just ensure everything you buy in Fiji is treated hardwood, that is stamped, has a sticker placed on it, or has a reciept with it. Australians beware of Suva, which is 45min form Pacific Harbour. The Fijians, and locals here arent as pleasant as the rest of Fiji. No one here helps, does anything, or GIVES anything for free. They will take advantage of your honesty. If a Suva - Fijian reckons that they know you from the hotel, and offers to show you around you, don't agree to it, he doesn't know you. Stick to the main shopping malls of Suva. Such a beautiful place! Had a wonderful time and the staff are so amazing! Eddie, Kini and Masi were great to talk to and they were very professional, along with the other staff. The GM and her husband seemed like they did not want to be there though. The food here is a bit pricey but just across the road from the resort is a little Indian restaurant […] which does decent food OR a ten minute walk further up is a little shopping area called Arts Village and it has a few eateries. "Happy holidays in the green garden"
Check in - we got dropped off on a main road. We had no idea where we are, when a hotel employee who happened to be there kindly called the reception and arranged a pick up for us. It was raining like anything and she looked like a goddess to us. Thank you. Room - all good, except for few minor requests such as an extra garbage bin in the room, a desk, […] a luggage area (we had a double room with garden view). We had a couple of nights where we had no water in the room due to the weather interrupting water pressure facility, but the reception staff brought up a big container of water to the room Food - excellent. Bit overpriced(Fijian$12.50 for a glass of wine, $10 for a beer, entree $24 etc), but good quality food. Inconsistency in portions size (Believe me, we ordered same menu every day :) Very friendly waiting staff(with few exceptions). Aussie head chef didn't seem too happy, or did't appear to be matching our smiles or greetings. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Few minor complaints such as lack of freshly squeezed juice(even if we had to pay extra dollars for it), coffee was not even ok. Would have been nice to see a fresh apple or two. Facilities - garden was maintained immaculately at all times. We really enjoyed admiring it. Activity team members were all very friendly and polite. Overall - we highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and would not give a second thought about coming back. All the friendly staff are assets to the resort. "The complete Fiji experience"
Lovely resort and the people were very friendly. The resort is situated right on the beach and has a beautiful outlook and breath taking sunsets. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a problem with the water 2 times for short periods but this didn't put us out too much. Staff supplied water to our rooms if we wanted it. Apparently the water gets cut off […] sometimes. Food was excellent and the happy hour well attended by us most afternoons. Very easy to book tours at reception. Our only bad experience was going out on a budget tour when the swell was too big so we didn't get to do the things we paid for like fishing and snorkelling. Not a reflection on the resort though. Taxi drivers were friendly and very accommodating especially driving to and from the airport which is 2 1/2 to 3 hours from the resort. Would recommend the local village tour (Galoa) and the arts village tour at Pacific Harbour, both can be booked through the resort. The resort has a large media room which would be good for families although they could use a few more DVDs to choose from. The day spa has plenty for packages which we used on our last day to finish off our Fiji experience. Would definately recommend the Pearl. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
