This is a nice property, and fairly priced. There are lots of hotel options in La Fortuna ranging from less expensive to much more expensive. This resort was a nice middle ground. The breakfast was very good and the location was perfect since we had a car and could easily get into town. Loved the ambiance and gorgeous view of the volcano and surrounding lush plant life. The rooms were fairly secluded and ours had a great view of the volcano in the back porch. Good location in Arenal. Short drive to activities and the local town. Very nice landscaping. Nice room although a bit dated. Matresses were hard. Nice view of the volcano, but was cloudy during our two day stay. Friendly service. 2-for-1 happy hour. Restaurant was decent. Good breakfast.

Very good value and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean with back porch opening to tropical garden. They have a big hot tub to hang out in during happy hour. Every day we walked into our room with one of a kind towel art embellished with tropical flowers.

This hotel was great ....big rooms, good breakfast, beautiful pool, and view of the volcano. Staff was very friendly, massages are reasonable at the spa. Staff helped book our massages as they were closed and left a note for us after dinner saying they were booked with no problems. I would definitely recommend .

The Volcano Lodge and Gardens is a beautiful place to stay. The surrounding gardens around the lodging are just amazing and really adds to the ambiance of the lodge in general. The spa treatments I had were very professional and good, too.

Good location for all types of outdoor activities. The restaurant food quality was ok, but could be better. The large "hot tub" became a good place to meet others and is definitely unique. Staff was great and always helpful.

Stayed there from Dec 8 - 12, 2012. Great hotel with great service (english speaking staff), delicious restaurant (might be the best in Fortuna) and a fantastic view of Arenal volcano from the back of almost every room. Will definitely stay there again if I visit Arenal. Only downside was that it is not directly located in La Fortuna, but it is only […] a 10 min drive away. This is a simple hotel easily accessible to all the activities available in the La Fortuna/Arenal area. Nice pool and jacuzzi - although the jacuzzi could be warmer. Basic buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, gallo pinto, pancakes. Happy Hour 2-for-1 prices with a fairly good drink menu.

Very clean, gated hotel/resort. Staff very polite. Close to the Vulcano Arenal and just minutes away from the La Fortuna. Easy to find. Spa amenities a bit on the pricey side though. Overall, a very stay and would recommend it to anyone:)

We stayed two nights at this hotel. Very close to La Fortuna, and convenient for lunch and dinner. In the town, there were a lot of restsurants you can choose from and souvenier shops. Baldi hot springs is also very close, about 5min drive from the hotel.

We were very pleasantly surprised to find such an outstanding hotel for an affordable price. Everything was perfect! The grounds were absolutely beautiful and we were given a very large, well-appointed room with a gorgeous view of the volcano. The front desk staff, waitstaff, and bartenders were the best I've seen. I was with my 18 and 28 year old nephews and they loved this place. The breakfast was the best we have had thus far. The room was spacious. M y only complaint is the size of the property. Be prepared to walk.

I had drink orders forgotten on multiple occasions and the staff might not stop by the table for half an hour. We stayed here for two nights on our vacation before heading to the beach, and we had a wonderful time! All of the staff members were so friendly when we arrived, and we were amazed at the beautifully manicured grounds. We were upgraded to a room with one of the best views on the property. This is truly the best value around. We had a better stay here […] than I think we would have at one of the five-star hotels, and many of the most expensive hotels don't even have a view of the volcano! Staff was very friendly. They spoke English which was very helpful for me. The blocks of rooms were spread out around the grounds but the paths were lit and I felt very safe walking around even in the dark. Not once was I worried about my well-being.
