Days Inn Atlantic City Oceanfront Boardwalk

My wife and I did a Saturday night on the town in AC in January 2012 and just wanted a reasonably priced, clean comfortable place to sleep so that we didn't have to drive back home to central NJ that night. The Days Inn fit our needs very well with a great off-season rate, and the boardwalk location is a bonus as we walked to our destinations once we […] checked in. Parking is in a gated lot within the hotel property at no extra charge. Our non-smoking room on the 4th floor was clean and spacious, and the carpet looked and felt new -- no socks required. There were a couple of minor dings: the bath towels were rough, the bed pillows were much higher and firmer than we like, and the elevators smelled a bit of stale smoke. We also had a very noisy neighbor -- not the hotel's fault -- whom we had to ask to quiet down at 7:30 Sunday morning (and thankfully they did). But overall we were very satisfied with our stay, and we would be glad to do it again in this price range. For a longer trip, however, we would probably go for more upscale lodging (with softer pillows). Read more

My husband and I had an overnight stay at the hotel. We arrived on Saturday, October 27th and left the following day before hurricane Sandy approached the area. Upon entering our room, we noticed a rather strong smell that reminded us of really "stinky feet". After opening the sliding glass door to the balcony, the fresh air took care of that problem. […] Our oceanfront room's balcony provided excellent views of the waves rolling in on the beach. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. The food was good and the staff friendly yet professional. The front desk staff was very reassuring regarding our safety in light of mandatory evacuations that were to take place Sunday afternoon. Overall, it was a great, short trip. I'll start off by saying that I fully acknowledge that this hotel is not meant to be a 5 star establishment. My husband and I wanted to take a spontaneous weekend trip and so I picked this hotel based on the location and the price, and trusted the Days Inn name to provide a low cost, no frills, clean place to stay. I was very disappointed. When you […] walk into the hotel, it does not feel like a Days Inn, it feels like a little mom and pop shop and I do not mean that as a compliment. The people at the front desk were not helpful or friendly. We actually saw a prostitution arrangement as we walked into the hotel to check in, right in front of the front desk staff, who did not intervene. They do provide free valet parking, which was nice. The rooms look like they were from the 1950's which would be fine, if it wasn't filthy. There were shag carpets that looked like they had never been cleaned, the bed had springs poking out, and the towels had specks of lint and dirt all over them. The only reason i stay at this hole in the wall was because. I was by myself and i needed a place to lay over one night for a fishing trip. The Furniture is out dated. You need a gas mask because of the smell . I ask could I change rooms . Front desk said we will sent you up a can of odor killer.

We were right near the Tropicana & access to the boardwalk was right there. We were pleasantly surprised the room was so clean and accomodating being we did not pay alot. Given the price of the Hotel, we did not expect too much. Much to our delight, we were thrilled with the accommodations. The room had a great view of the ocean and boardwalk. Although there were no chairs on the balcony, it was a true balcony to open your doors to let the sea air in. That is not something you see too often in AC! This was the first time that i stayed more than 1 day in Atlantic City. The location of the hotel is convenient. The scenery was nice (the balcony was located directly across from the beach) and the price of the room was extremely budget friendly. Parking was free (which is a great asset). The room was clean and the elevators were to my liking (not […] to small). The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the staff in the restaurant. The restaurant staff barely spoke English and when I did order out I was charged a mandatory gratuity and the only thing the waitress did was bring my food in a bag and the order turned out to be wrong. we arrive at the hotel and there were no rooms available. after being told check in was at 3pm. the hotel attendant ask for our telephone number and says you can leave your luggage here while u go take a walk down the boardwalk and we will call you when we have a room ready. Never called we checked back at around 5:30 pm hoping they had a room available […] because we had 7pm diner reservations. we finally get a room and there was no shower curtain in the bathroom. Had to wait another half hour for someone to bring a shower curtain. The staff were not friendly and the room was not the best room in the world. cigarette burns and scent everywhere mind you it was a non smoking room! never again! Read more
