Upon arrival found that hotel was overbooked and there was no room available. Very stressful situation as all neighboring areas were also with their hotels full. I picked Extended Stay based on the experiences I had in the US, but this place was really disappointing. I even tried switching to a different hotel, but unfortunately most hotels were booked. This hotel was musty with old carpets and stains all over. I was practically choking the first night I was there in the musty room I got. Convenient with shuttle from airport. Hotel is up hill from downtown but very walkable. Parking is limited, if you have a rental car, parking is limited but free so you may want to get in and parked early if youre going out on the town. Best feature of this hotel is location. It is walking distance to downtown... although the walk back is exhausting because of a very long and steep hill. This is a few dollar taxi ride to the downtown (George St). Thrity dollar taxi from airport. Book shuttle ahead of time as it runs only as booked. The hotel is going to be smoke free for Sept. 2010 but the hallways stink of stale smoke. The rooms have kitchens and there is laundry facilities.

It's a very convenient location,close to downtown,hospital,convenience store,drugstore,and major grocery chains open 24 hours. The hotel was just okay. I did not like the room setup. I felt like I was sleeping in the kitchen. I know prices fluctuate but based on the price I paid, there are much better value hotels in the city. It's not that the hotel was bad, it was just that they charge for a 3.5 star and give you a 3. It was good that they have a laundry.

Perfect for appointments at St, Claire's Hospital as just beside it so no need to drive. Poor pillows were the only discomfort. Had trouble getting a parking spot as we arrived later in the evening. Otherwise a great place!

We enjoyed our stay , cooking a few meals for ourselves was a good way to help save ourselves some money . Staff were friendly and helpful. Located a short distance from downtown . Centrally located so if you wish to tour around St. John's you were in a good location to travel any direction.

It seemed to me that the interior generally did not match the new(?) exterior facade. The interior makeover could well have placed two Queen beds in a room as standard, instead of one Queen and a hide-a-bed., even if the charges would have been higher. Otherwise it was good value for money, though the exterior parking is somewhat limited.

I was quite pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and I would rate the location as satisfactory only because we hadn't had our rental car at that point of our trip. Room I had was equipped with almost a full kitchen as these are extended stay rooms. I stayed for 3 nights, but was here for a wedding so did not utilize the actual kitchen too much. The location of the hotel is very accessible and the staff was very friendly. Our room was large and had all the expected amenities, but it was located in the basement and had a strong, unpleasant odour. The parking lot was much too small to accommodate all of the guests' vehicles.

Hotel is very functional with kitchen facilities included in each room. Getting downtown is not a problem as you are going down hill but would not recommend this hotel if individuals are not capable of the very steep hills you have to climb to get back to hotel. It is about a $10 taxi fare from downtown back to hotel.

The hotel is a walk of about a mile from downtown, with an uphill climb on the way back. No problem for a healthy person. The rooms are comfortable. I would have liked a more comfortable chair or couch from which to watch TV - I ended up sitting on the bed to do so. One of them (Danny, I think) got an award recently as the best employee out of the 10,000 employees of the Extended Stay chain. The breakfast is also basic but not bad for a free benefit. The staff were willing and able to fulfil small requests. The room rate offers good value for the money although the 'Deluxe' part of the name is somewhat puzzling. The only problem I had with this hotel was parking. We were driving around for the longest time and only way you could get a place to park was if someone else left. I ended up having to park on the road where I could have easily got a ticket! Not impressed.

My wife had an appt at St. Claire's Hospital which was adjacent to this hotel which was convinient. There was a nearby convenience store and a drugstore. Also only a 10 min walk from the downtown with shopping, restaurants and the harbour.
