First visit rated a 3. This was our 2nd visit. After a long fun day in the May sun, returned for a nice shower and dress for the evening. Very disappointed to find a trickle of cold water to shower . I booked this room due to location and price, but the place wasn't in good condition at all. Everything was so old it smelled musty- like an old house. I do believe it was cleaned as well as could be, but because it was old and run down things just presented as dirty. The door hinges were rusty, the linens were thin and old, the tile and walls were […] deteriorating and the fixtures were old, run-down and outdated. There was a burned out light bulb in our light, and stray hairs in the washclothes. Finally, the outdoor light bulbs in the parking lot were so bright our room was lit all night, even with the drapes pulled tightly. If my reservation had been for 2 nights instead of one I would have stayed somewhere else the second night. Read more

This hotel was great for what we needed. A clean room close to down town. You can't beat the price and the location. This mom and pop hotel is a glimpse into the past and it was a great view. We walked to downtown to listen to some great country music and grab a beer. The room had enough outlets to charge all of my electronics. The bed was made with […] clean sheets. I was worried about that from some of the other reviews. All in all it was a great trip and the hotel was a big part due to the inexpensive bill. Best part they still use a key. It was the worst, I expected unmatched decor from other guests reviews, but nothing prepared me for stained bedspreads, threadbare sheets and general feeling of neglect not to mention the huge sag in the middle of the bed. We asked for a different room and got one that seemed cleaner and the sheets seemed from this century. Place was old, but it did ok since all we did was go back and sleep and showered... Hotel is not upscale, no extra amenities and I don't think there was a pool. Hotel was close to downtown, but we still drove in and enjoyed our time in Fredericksburg... I would stay there again, if there was nothing else available...

For the rates offered, it was good. Perhaps a more neutral bedding and curtain (do not really care for floral designs). Desk staff was very appropriate and polite. Could use some adjustment to the bathroom door so it won't open spontaneously and perhaps more comfortable washcloths and towels so they won't feel so ruff. You get what you pay for. The desk clerk was hard to understand due to speaking broken English. The hot water in the shower barely came on. No electrical outlets in the bathroom. The room was small and all the furniture was out of date. There was no place to stand in the bathroom when you closed the door but in the corner by the toilet. UHG! I signed up for 2 rooms and they put one room by the road--the road noise was very noticeable. This was not a good experience for my Uncle, Dad and myself. I couldn't wait to leave.

When I'm in Fredricksburg, I'm only in the hotel to clean up or sleep. This hotel was everything we needed. Clean, friendly, well maintained. Safe on main street. Easy to access. Good A/C, hot water, even a frig and micro.

I have never in my life had a worse experience at a "HOTEL". This hotel is a maze of add-ons across the street from broken down cars littering the front of neighboring mobile homes. We checked in to find out that our exterior access room was armed with a hollow core door that appeared it had previously been kicked in a few times. After entering the […] room and discovering the air conditioning did not work the owner said he would happily call a repairman for the next guests. After 20 minutes we decided we would rather drive 1.5 hours home than stay overnight. When I went to retrieve my payment the owner announced that "we had 15 minutes to decide if we were going to stay or not" and we were 4 minutes beyond our time limit so no refund. Being a road warrior I've stayed in some nasty places including "motels" that people who were just let out on parole and the state gave them a pass for a few nights at the place. In all my years of staying in a different place 47 weeks out of the year for my job I have never encountered a place such as this. Save your money...you will be safer sleeping in your car!!!! This place was dicussing, the shower was covered with mold from ceiling to floor. I checked the bed for bed bugs the mattress looked to be new. Everythings else I was afraid to touch.

Well thats what I get for looking for a room at midnight the night before I need to stay and on a holiday weekend. Room was dark, bed was uncomfortable, shower curtain was full of mold, you can only use either cold or hot water in the shower, water would not combine to a reasonable temp. The towels were as soft as sandpaper.
