I was pleasantly surprised with the superior quality of this hotel. I had never stayed at one before and did not know what to expect. I was specifically looking for a smoke free place and this one was wonderful. A large bright expansive lobby welcomes you. Large ample area for breakfast ( tho the waffle maker was broken ) and even tho we checked in late, the worker allowed my son to go in the weight room and my son commented that it was very nice.

"Our new home while our son is at UGA"

Clean beyond belief. We both commented when we walked in how wonderful the entire hotel smelled.... obviously being a smoke free facility from its opening. The room was perfect and the staff very accomodating. We were just over the Liquor Store and had read other reviews about the noise... well after a Fri and Sat night we can say that we would never have known it was there if we hadn't known to look for it. Put this one in your TomTom and keep coming back.

"Time of stay"

This is a good place to stop in and maybe stay a night or three. The soundproofing room to room is good (I took a nap in my room while my cousins were all visiting next door. They're VERY loud) so no worries on that score. There IS a liquor store right next door so if you're worried about strange characters here's your heads up. The immediate area is otherwise relatively good and extremely convienent to campus (turn R, 2nd light turn L) like within about 5 minutes drive.

"Noisy and needed maintenance"

We were on the secong floor. The ice machine at the end of the hall was not working, but had been left plugged in, making a tremendous racket. The vending machines at the end of the hall were empty. Loud conversations in nearby rooms could not be understood, but were definitely loud enough to be disturbing.

The room we had was excellent in size and cleanliness. Very nice for the price. Beds were comfortable and temperature was easy to set. We were staying several days and location was good for our visit to the university.

The only thing that was disapointing was that the workout room was not open 24 hours. Everything was was above what I expected.

Great Hotel, nice amenities, good hot breakfast, one of the best. Cleanliness was excellent even on a busy night. Highly recommended, however our credit card was charged for one night in addition to what we paid to hotels.com. This was corrected once we noticed the error on our monthly statement by the staff with no problems.

New and clean and a straight shot to UGa. We were worried that it would be out of the way, but it is not at all far from downtown with no turns to make. Breakfast was not as good as some places, but that was not important to us.

The hotel is very nice but is right next door to a busy liquior store! Other than the noise from their customers the hotel was fine. They provide a very good breakfast selection and the hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and the pool was nice. Good place to stay if traveling with children.

Overall everything was fine. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We only stayed one night for college orientation and didn't eat the complimentary breakfast the next morning. My husband noticed a moldy smell immediately upon entering our room - I didn't. I mention this because several other reviewers have said the same thing. I checked the bathroom but couldn't find any evidence of mold. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

The free Contential Breakfast was not very good. I've had better and to top it off the juice was sour. I didn't have time to tell them, we were late and had to leave. It bothered me that it was a place to buy alochol and wine right where you turned off to the hotel, but it did not seem to be a problem. Thanks, F. O.

The bathroom had a moldy or stale smell. The room was very large, which was nice. My main complaint is that there were evidently unsupervised children in the room next door who were up banging around and yelling until well after 1 a.m even though I called the front desk twice before that time. I heard the night clerk tap on the door but it didn't do any good.

Our room smelled like mold or mildew, and there was a great deal of mold and mildew buildup in the shower area. It was quite disgusting, not to mention unhealthy.

"Pretty good hotel"

Comfort Suites Athens is about a mile from the area adjacent to the University of Georgia. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. The treadmill in the exercise room next to the pool needs repair (it slips and someone could fall) and the exercise bicycle is a cheap model. The staff was personable, friendly and helpful.
