Hilton Munich City - Munich

No free or cheap internet. Who will pay 30 dollars for 1 day of internet. Hilton should have internet free or fairly cheap. Internet is no longer a service...is a comodity. The hotel is kind of dirty, old. The lobby is shinning though. I will never step into a Hilton for quite a long time.

Located right off the Metro line. Clean, nice hotel. Needs some updating, but for the price and location, you cant beat it. Its two stops away from the city center. Location is quite convenient because we went to a concert at Tonhalle, which was about a 10 minute walk. Same distance is to city center with the famous city hall and shopping district. There's parking at the hotel, but not included and no discount for hotel guests, so it's 22 EUR per day. Wi-fi is also a surcharge - 9 EUR for a mobile device, 20 EUR […] for a computer. Everything was great except for the charge on the wifi. This was the only hotel in Europe out of 8 that charged us for internet. The staff was outstanding, however. Housekeeping, concierge, and front desk were all extremely helpful and friendly.

A fairly spacious room, although we were given a room with accommodations for disabled folks. They tried to sell us on pre-paying breakfast for 20 euros ... down from 28 euros at the time of actual breakfast. Hotel is looking a bit worn, with scuffs on the walls and places needing paint. Ventilation fan in the room squeaked. Clean and nice, however. […] Very convenient to the city center via the U-Bahn -- the station is below the hotel and its only a couple stops (5 mins or less) to Marianplatz. The rooms were large enough to accomodate 3 adults. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Did not have free internet. We were able to walk to Marianplatz within 15 minutes. The hotel is close to a grocery store and a couple of blocks from an several restaurants and bakeries.

Front desk staff very friendly and check in process smooth. Room size great for a European hotel. Had a room with a nice view of the front street. Concierge wasn't too helpful with suggestions for things to do. As usual, we had high expectations for a Hilton hotel but we were disappointed with the high level of smoke odor in our room and on our floor. […] (It was a non-smoking floor, so it really should have been smoke odor free). Internet was an extra charge: 9 Euros/day for smart phone only, or about 22 Euros/day for laptop device. In this day and age internet should be a given. I rather the room charge be increased and have the internet included than have to make a separate transaction. With so many hotels offering free internet it seems like a way to nickel and dime us to death. Breakfast was great, good selection, great service. Location excellent, connected to subway system and easy to get around. A separate elevator takes you from the lobby to the Rosenheimer Platz metro station. When you arrive, follow the signs to the hotel. If there are no signs, you're at the wrong exit - just go back down to the train platform, walk the length, and go up the other escalator where you will see the Hilton signs. From the hotel you can walk to the tourist area (15 minutes) or take the train (2 stops). Read more

The main advantage is having the underground station in front of the hotel. I had to ask to change my room because the first one was smelling funny, and then I got a noisy one (facing the street). After upgrading I got a very confortable quiet room.

As a diamond member I was upgraded but to a smoking room. I was not even asked if I wanted the room or not. Was a great room minus the smell of cigarettes. Had an executive room, the Executive club was great, good breakfast, great place to stop for a drink in the evening. Staff all great. S8 train from airport to terminal under hotel makes it very convenient for 10 euro. Marinplatz a 10-15 minute walk or a two stop ride from the terminal below.

Comfortable and convenient hotel. Lobby connects directly to S-Bahn for easy access to city, but it is only a 15 minute walk to the center for anybody who wishes to go by foot. Nice breakfast buffet. Air-conditioning system a little subpar but not a major problem.

Best thing about this hotel? Amazing breakfast buffet! Absolutely delicious. Hotel was very modern and clean, check in and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the concierge desk was less amicable, almost to the point where they seemed bothered that people were asking questions. Luckily we didn't require their services, […] so we steered clear. Location was ok - just outside of the city center, and everything in Munich is within easy walking distance. We were very happy to have a regular queen-sized bed, as we'd been staying in smaller European hotels with little beds. Hilton never disappoints with comfortable beds and abundant pillows!
