Baymont Inn and Suites DeKalb - Dekalb

When returning for the night, there was blood on the "clean" sheets. After taking them to the front desk to get new ones, we were given sheets that were covered in hair. The third set of sheets were finally clean, but still skeptical about that. Despite being a low cost hotel, it doesn't mean they can neglect basic cleanliness for their guests.

I got the room at a "discounted" rate. The pictures looked nice. Unfortunately it was not very clean. The hallway lights were filled up with the carcasses of hundreds of box-elder bugs. Public area in lobby neat and tidy. Lame breakfast. Hallway and elevator floors stained, sticky, nasty. Room comfortable. But for the price left MUCH to be desired. I would stay somewhere else next time

The hotel was clean and comfortable, however on the second night of our stay there was a restaurant/bar next door and they had an outside band that played and it was right below our window so we were not able to go to sleep until 2 am. We won't be staying at this hotel again.

Overall I had a good experience. I had a few "nats" in my room but I think it is because of the place next door. Staff were great, but room could be cleaner. For the price and location, I cant complain.

Wrong type of Room-Room smelled--Moved to another -Was supposed to be handicap accessible, but no grab bars by the toilet. Inexpensive, but not well kept. No thermostat on the Air Conditioner. Air not on when we arrived, and it was 98 degrees out. Took long time to cool down. Dining area for Breakfast, the floor was dirty.

There were stains (urine looking)on both of the beds (double) sheets. The place is on a good location just needs some minor painting and landscaping on the outside. There were maybe 5 cars in the parking lot at all time. The hotel next door was booked up..they need to look into doing more to promote people to stay at their hotel.

The staff were great and very friendly. The location is fine, but the other reviewers are correct in that the train is quite loud. The room was not as clean as I would have liked, but I was only there for one night so I didn't complain. The breakfast in the morning was terrible. First impression..nice enough...got to room and there was a black ring in toilet around water level and a spider climbing around..found crumbs and piece of candy in the dresser drawers. Went to breakfast at 0800 and the area was a mess, nothing wiped off, out of things..we asked for more syrup and felt like we had asked for the moon. Fitness room was […] a guest room converted with 4 pieces of equipment..one in working order and no remote for the TV..even after asking. Absolutely the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel and our rooms were very dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable. The hotel is on a train freight line and all night long we were kept up by the roaring sounds of passing trains. The hotel staff was extremely rude and unaccommodating.

Our room was dirty there was hair on the bathroom floor and stains on the sheets and they should let you know that the train goes through every hour.The breakfast was awful the fresh fruit was rotten and the waffel batter was thin liquid the orange juice was sour and when asked to replace it it was brought back sour. The night we stayed there was a […] snow storm and the parking lot had not been plowed it was covered in ice. Also the swimming pool had chemicals just put in it and it had to be in for 24hours. The frunance in our room ran all night on and off because there was a draft in our room 214. The lady the night we checked in was great very helpfull but the next day we checked out there was a lady who you can not underswtand very well at all. We were going to get another hotel for the next weekend but since I couldnt understand the lady we went somewhere else. Not having someone who specks english very well is very bad business. Stayed one night for nye. Front desk switched me to a non smoking room free of problems. Room was clean and beds were nice. There was a train or 2 that I could hear pass by that was a little loud but couldn't be heard over the heating unit. The bathroom floor had a hair or 2 behind the toilet but that was me looking to be picky. Bathtub had a chip towards […] the top. I would not recommend using the pool. The front desk service from quick, friendly and efficient. The property itself was in need of some 'deep cleaning' i.e....carpets, chips in bathtub ceramic...I would stay again if it was for a one night stay but might look somewhere else if an extended stay was called for....a small fridge in a room would be a big plus, in that case.

After recently moving out of the DeKalb area, I needed a place to stay for the night. The carpet had stains. The bed was uncomfortable, but the sheets appeared clean. The water pressure SUCKED, the water was super soft, and I fell in the shower. There was no ice machine on our floor. Luckily I found a coupon for hotels.com, so it was a bit cheaper. […] For one drunken night in DeKalb, I'd stay here again, but I obviously have pretty low standards when it comes to hotel rooms. I appreciated the service at Magnuson, but the bed was awful. They cleaned the room daily, except on Sunday when I didn't leave the hotel until 10AM. They skipped that day.
