I enjoyed all aspects of my stay although the shower leaked over the floor. I failed to notify the hotel but the room cleaners should have recognized it.

I loved this hotel. Great location. Easy to find. Great view from the balcony overlooking the harbor. My room was in the new wing and was absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff was highly efficient and very friendly. Even the room service was great. I highly recommend this hotel.

Located close to the ferry, you can walk but it is up hill, may not be a good idea with many bags or if your older. Staff very friendly and helpful, nice pool on the 4th floor, fresh water, big but not deep (1.3m). Breakfast is good, salads and a hot station with eggs/potatoes/sauges. Room overlooked harbor, very nice view back to Camino and Malta. […] Hotel has two sections, old/new, we stayed in the new, very nice room and bed, modern bath. Only issue is our room had a portable A/C that was very noisy, ask about this if you need it at night, not all rooms have this. I can not wait to return to Gozo. I was there for only one night but the staff and hotel were all wonderful. Just beware of the taxis at the ferry offering to take you to the hotel for 10 euros! The hotel is literaly at the top of the hill. I was totally scammed! But live and learn. Stay here it is worth it!!

My girlfriend and I spent and weekend break in November. The hotel is at a very nice location. When we checked-in we felt welcome by the hotel staff and we were offered a welcome drink. The receptionist guy helped us with our luggage and showed us the way to our room. The room was clean and we had a very nice and big terrace. We were a bit disappointed […] because we couldn't let the terrace door open due to loud noises from outside because of construction works moreover we couldn't stay in the terrace because of the noise. Our room was exactly near the lift and during the night you could hear the lift going up and down and people getting in and out of the lift. The hotel states that there is free Wifi in the hotel, and although we were given a username and password upon our arrival, there was no connection in our room (609). We were expecting much better for a 4 star hotel, because at the end of the day we went there to relax and we had no relaxation at all. Lastly, although we knew before but good to point out, there is no indoor pool! Yes, a 4 star hotel with no indoor pool !! Hotels.com stated I would have a sea view with a balcony and thats why I paid an extra sum of money compared to the non-sea view apartment. Now, this hotel is situated on a hill and the room I was given was literally eye level with the road with people passing by able to peer into the room. We had no choice but to keep the curtains closed the whole […] time. Not that it would have made too much difference though as our shared balcony (yes, shared with the apt next door) view was obstructed as we were so low down. Unfortunately for me, after I complained, the receptionist informed me that the hotel was full. Lesson learned: speak to reservation about the room before booking. Upgraded to a seaview suite. We have been at this hotel quite a few times now. Excellent service, value for money, with stunning views. Staff very helpful an all round hotel. Pity the pool is not somewhat bigger. Be back for sure. Always recommended.

We booked a last minute getaway in Gozo for five nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms, including the bathroom, are very spacious, clean and comfortable with a large bed and plenty of cupboard space. The air conditioning was very effective although we didn't use it much. Sea view rooms look out over the harbour and Comino Straight (or […] Gozo Channel?). Staff in the hotel were helpful and courteous as you would expect. Breakfast was also excellent with a constant supply of tea/coffee and more than enough food to suit all appetites. There is a good swimming pool on the 4th floor overlooking the harbour but with the sea easily accessible we didn't need it. The location of the hotel is very convenient - an easy walk from the harbour/ferry port for trips to Malta or Comino and with bus stops nearby on routes for most of the island. Read more

We had an internal room, to make things cheaper but it was a very dark and dingy room with no wireless internet signal. It was very dated and had a musty feel about it. Bathroom was clean and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed one night and it was in a very handy location, staff were pleasant.

This was my first and my wife's third visit to the hotel and we both enjoyed it immensly. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much for them and by the end of our stay, several of them were almost like family. As a base to visit Gozo and Malta, with fantastic views over the harbour (always go for a seaview room), it really cannot be bettered.

We were a little disappointed as led to believe the hotel was on a beach, which it certainly is not. There are few sandy beaches on Gozo, with the nearest a 20 minute bus drive away. We were also led to believe the hotel has indoor facilities, which it does not. However, the staff were pleasant, some more helpful than others, as we did not really find […] out about the centre of the village being just round the corner until our last day! Also, we did not know about the free bus to the Capital every day, and were instead directed to the local public bus stop. The food was good, if a little expensive, and the drinks from the bar were quite expensive, which we did not realise until paying our bill! I loved this hotel. It could not be more perfectly placed for a stay on Gozo, but what made it special was the superb service provided by the staff. This hotel has not one but two restaurants in the autumn and apparently a third en plein air in the summer months. I sampled both the food at Il Migiarro and also the cuisine their new Thai restaurant offers […] and can assure you the quality of the food alone was 5-star (in a 4-star hotel) but you have the considerable added value of a most delightful restaurant manager who not only offers service of the highest quality, but also does so without arrogance or intrusion. He even helps his staff clear tables at breakfast and serves piping-hot, strong coffee himself at breakfast - something I have never seen in France, Germany or Italy for example. The reception staff at the hotel are also excellent. They aren't perfect and mistakes (as we all do,) but go the extra mile for every client. The icing on the cake is probably the courtesy minibus service, provided by the inimitable George. The hotel will bus you, free of charge, to the capital, Victoria on a daily basis and also runs a shuttle between the two glorious sandy beaches - Ramla and Hondoq. I was on a budget, so stayed in an internal-facing room. I would heartily recommend one of their superior rooms if you can afford it; they are superbly appointed, have huge superking beds, attractive bathrooms and spacious terraces with stunning views of the harbour and Gozo straits. This hotel was by far the best one we stayed at on our Malta/Gozo trip (in total 5 hotels). At a very reasonable cost we got a nice, clean, modern room (towards an alley, but hey we weren't there to look at the view) with a quiet AC that worked perfectly. Free WiFi (just ask for it in the reception), garage parking underneath the hotel, a really nice […] breakfast, friendly staff, tasty food in the restaurant in the evening, a comfy bar...what more could you ask for?? We did not look at the surroundings at all and did not spend any time in Mgarr at all since we were travelling by car all over Gozo during the day, so I cannot say anything about Mgarr. Unfortunately our first day and night was to our disappointment ruined by loads of water seeping from under the tiles in the bathroom and faulty air condition in our room (actually the a/cs of the whole block weren't working) We spent the first night in terrible heat and awake! Our room was changed in the afternoon the […] following day upon our several complaints. However they downgraded us to an inferior room since none were available. This downgrade and our troubles were compensated with a bottle of wine and a complimentary dinner at the hotel restaurant. Signs of work going on, the standard room are a bit below standard for what we paid no tea and coffee making things in our room I requested to have them put in the room twice at reception but no joy. Hotel web states wifi in rooms but not ours! This was our second visit to The Grand and our last.

I was very pleasantly surprised with both the surrounding setting and also with the Hotel. The Hotel was in a lovely location, just minutes from the small harbour of Mgarr. The standard of the 4 star hotel was excellent, with extremely friendly and helpful staff, very tasty and well priced food in the restuarant, and a great location just near the Gozo ferry terminal. An excellent choice when visiting Gozo: overlooking the harbour with its busy traffic, good communications by bus to explore Gozo, or across the channel to explore Malta.
