"Cozy but quirky"
08/30/14 Drocton Oak Park, Illinois
My wife and I stayed here two nights en route to Yosemite. Our room faced a sizeable space that had chairs, benches etc. We enjoyed sitting out, and we could listen to the combo that played by the swimming pool. The bed in our room was a bit on the lumpy side, and the bathroom was similar in size of those found on an ocean liner. The overall layout is unique, and the management seems to maximize the good points of the property and tries to minimize the faults. Probably would not stay here again. Travelers with children would enjoy the cute outdoor pool.
"Last hotel of a nine day trip. The worst."

The staff was very helpful and cheery. The grounds were well kept up and open space to relax. But----the bathroom was the worst. Small. No place to put toiletries without them falling into the stool. Only a shower. No grab bars outside the shower or in the shower. No place to hang a used towel so it could be used again. The floor?? Continental breakfast had no wheat bread for toast. The waffles were fine. An apple and a orange for fruit. Bagel were plain white, no variety.

The accommodations at this hotel were perfect. I travel in different states racing my car and I just have to say, the parking ( my truck and race car 28' trailer) the room, the restaurant, the breakfast everything could not have been better. And special shout out to front desk employees Mercy, Kelly, and Hector. They all treated me like family :) :) All under the direction of Terri Rose. I will be back for two weeks next year!!
"Charming and a trip to your past"

This motel is built somewhere in 1950 to 1960 and is clean and neat with a wonderful staff. There are large grass areas in the garden area with a lovely and well kept pool. Breakfast is a small buffet and is included in your room charge. They have Wi-Fi and cable TV. I stay there quite often and always enjoy my visits. Ask for a room away from the freeway. Easy on and off of the 101.
"Extremely poor value"

I'm am just wrapping up a second stay at the Inn Marin and all I can say is that I am glad my work is footing the bill. For a hotel that charges $150 plus a night, this is a major rip off. The freeway noise is out of this world. The TV reception in all rooms is horrible. The walls are paper thin so much I can hear the people next to me snoring and their entire phone conversations. It is clean but that is about the only plus. Oh and the restaurant is good. There are far better options in the area for the same price. Extreme disappointment.

Let me begin by saying that the Inn Marin use to be our "go to" place. Loved the old-time feel and the convenience of working across the garden area to eat a wonderful meal at Rickey's. However, based on our last stay, we won't be going back. My husband and I stayed in room 110 in December 2013 for three nights. When we arrived at our room, the exterior entrance to the room was cluttered with dried, cut bushes. We had to move them to keep from tracking them into the room. During our stay the cuttings were never picked up. But the real deal breaker was the cleanest of the room. We had two double beds. The top sheet on one bed had a tear in it and the bottom sheet on the other bed had a stain. They were clean but clearly worn out! The bathroom had a hair on the ceiling and mildew spots on the ceiling of the shower. When I closed the bathroom door, the woodwork on the back of the door was filthy. The hair dryer had been removed from the wall but management did not bother to paint the area where it had been so there so there was an area of mismatched paint. There was also a broken and used Q-tip on the front door sill when we opened the door to leave to dinner. When we checked out I pointed these things out to the person at the front desk but they didn't seem to care. Unfortunately, the place has become run down and attention to detail lacking. We still love Rickey's but will not be stay at the Inn Marin again. Too bad, we use to love this place.
"Our wedding was perfect!"

My husband and I got married here a year and half ago. The event planner was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! The kitchen gladly made changes to the menu for dietary needs (everything was naturally gluten-free) and the chef was even willing to make an ethnic dish that we had requested. The location was great and the service was flawless. We had a wonderful time with no complaints. We highly recommend this location as a wedding venue, for its restaurant or for its overnight accommodations.
"Hidden little slice of paradise for you and your dog."
We got a puppy and now we have to find locations that accept dogs. Inn Marin is perfect for you and your dog. The rooms have a front and back door and all are on one level so easy in and out for walks and personal business for your pup. We ordered room service from the restaurant that is on sight called Rickey's and it was very good. There is a pool on sight and a huge grassy courtyard with benches and tree swings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was very easy and located right in front of your room. We will definitely stay here again.
"Short drive for time travel..."

We stayed one night as it was written up well in reviews. Our upgraded Garden Room did have an attempt to modernize recently but nothing was done to the actual structure so the 1950's glared through the cosmetics. A bamboo floor covered the slab but could not hide the rolling slope of the bedroom floor. Everything was very low to the ground. The seating, desk, toilet, bed height, etc. were all child-height. Doorways are narrow and short. Ceilings are low. The room was clean, The staff was gracious. The walls are paper-thin. We adjusted and just had fun and laughed lots.Room and property layout leaves much to be desired..
"This is not a hotel you should spend over $100 on."
04/03/14 TropicalTommy11 San Francisco, California
This hotel is old and outdated. It is noisy and you can hear the other people in the rooms next to you. The walls are thin, the bathroom apt size and old. The best part was the restaurant next door Rickey's . I like comfort class and quiet. Inn at Marin did not deliver. Not for the price anyway. For the same price you can stay in the Best Wester or Marriott Courtyard which are much nicer. Maybe for $60-80 but not $138.00
