"Worst People "

I was trying to book a night and the person answering me was yelling at me and telling I didn't have a right to ask about rooms or prices and clicked on me twice and told em not to call back. Horrable people, can't even call to book.

Great place. Friendly service, good facilities, ample parking, clean rooms, hot spa, suitably manicured gardens, close to freeway, free creamer, back and front entrances, nice sign, extended checkout, lampshades were nice, blue pool towels, excellent cucumber mojitos!

"The amazing renovation of a 60s era hotel"
08/15/15 robert s Ada, Michigan
This week I stayed at a newly renovated hotel in Novato Ca named Inn Marin. This hotel is a classic 1960 north of san francisco style . It consists of first of all a site layout which shows that the original developer of the property, who was from zurich switzerland, had a great deal more success than anticipated. He just added another row of rooms moving back away from the original structure. The result was a very nice once level development on about 20 acres of land . The initial phase of the development included a white tablecloth restaurant. The restaurant has a nice pool nearby and you can dine outside poolside in a beautiful interior courtyard formed by the original hotel complex. The good part is that the rooms away from the freeway, that is to say most of them, are very very quiet. The second good part is that this place has an amazing restaurant, including remnants of the original owners 5,000 piece art collection. The restaurant has amazing food and a staff that has clearly been trained and run to european standards. Try the ribs, and anything on the menu, and you will be very impressed, as I was. Now the third part. The restaurant is filled with Stickley Furniture. One presumes most of this is from the original hotel , since the rooms are also filled with Stickley Furniture, all of which is in perfect condition. Ditto for all public areas in the hotel. Finally, the last part. The entire place is fully renovated. The rooms are beautiful. Way beyond what you would expect in a renovation. This place has several hundred rooms, and one cannot imagine what time and careful effort went into this. So there you have it. Great location, World Class FOOD, and a green renovation of a tired old girl who escaped destruction and learned to dance again. One more thing. The staff is very kind and helpful. I am going back to this place for years to come.

"Good value for the location"

I guess we weren't expecting motel-style accommodation (we probably should have looked at the website more closely) but the room we had was clean and well-furnished. Although the hotel is located right beside the super-busy 101, the rooms are quiet because they are located at the rear of the hotel. The reception staff were not particularly warm, but nice enough and efficient. The continental breakfast buffet is pretty basic, but does the job. A good base for exploring Muir Woods, Sausalito, etc.

"Time for total renovation"
08/08/15 caballeros2013 Santa Barbara, California
This facility is worn at best and needs a total makeover. With exception of two front desk staff and the housekeeping staff, the rest of the employees seemed as tired as the hotel. The attached restaurant isn't worth the time unless you're hanging out in the bar area at game time. Almost no amenities in bathroom, save the shampoo/rinse containers stuck onto the shower wall. Furniture looks like cheap warehouse sale. It's a hodgepodge of past 'trendy' ideas in a facility across from a highway and at the end of a weird, transitional half-closed retail area.

"Great stay"

We had to vacate our house due to some major renovations and found the Inn Marin just a few miles from our house. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small but functional. The staff very friendly and helpful. We loved swimming in the pool, ordering food on the pool side and hanging out in the garden area. It was great for our 6 year old boy. It actually felt like a vacation :-) The breakfast is complementary and kind of has what you need. (Fruit, cereals, toast, jam, boiled eggs etc) Don't get too excited but it will get you going until you find a nice cafe.

"nice treasure!!"
07/26/15 Sinalcohol San Francisco, California
We wanted a nice, sunny place to stay not too far out of San Francisco and a pool was a must (so thrilled deep end goes to 8 feet deep). I'm an avid Trip Advisor researcher and all the tips came in handy when making our choice. I LOVED this Inn!! It was a busy weekend with a lot of people there with guide dogs for the blind being trained which in no way interfered with a casual, relaxing day by/in the pool. Appreciate that the pool is not filled with a grand amount of chlorine, in fact you could tell salt water was part of the mix - another plus!! Very clean, comfortable rooms and bed - we stayed in room 155 a bit towards the back. Bring a blow dryer if you need to use one, though I'm sure reception can locate one for you. Freeway is visible and you can hear the cars but not enough to inhibit your stay. A swing in one of the 2 swings attached to a HUGE magnolia tree is a must - felt like a kid with no cares... Make sure to eat at Ricky's Restaurant for dinner. Great food at reasonable prices. Staff super accomodating and know their jobs - both in the restaurant and reception. Kid and family friendly - WE WILL BE BACK if not just to stay the night and hang by the pool and listen to Jazz on a Friday or Saturday night :-)

"Not worth the money"
07/18/15 Randy W Seattle, Washington
For the money the Inn Marin is not worth it. It is an older inn and not in the best of conditions for the price. For starters the room my wife and I had, we had to kill multiple spiders. The refrigerator didn't work in the room. The finishes of the room where cheap (fixtures, shower head, flooring). The bed was broken and felt like you would roll right off of it. We were traveling with our dog, and the pet fee was the highest we paid on the trip, and the designated area for taking her for a walk was a major joke, it was a tiny little area (about 100 square foot if that) that was overgrown with dead weeds that were just trampled over and blocked by a large pile of debris. The associated restaurant with hotel was way overpriced for the quality of the food. For the price, the quality should have been much higher.

"Enjoyed our stay"

We were very impressed with friendly staff, good food and comfortable room. The pool and patio was clean and inviting. I highly recommend you check them out. Very accomodating with a lot of flexibility to our stay as well. It is difficult finding hotels with such great customer service.

Family friendly. Great garden court yard. Our room was at the back, nice and quiet. Rooms were clean and quaint. Breakfast is okay but same fair daily. They don't put a lot of energy into it. We didnt get to try Rickys, but it seems to be nice. Staff was friendly. I wish they would have told us that they have a shared kitchen for guests to use. We had no idea until late on our last day here. We would stay here again. Very close to the Sonoma Raceway. Easy to find.
