"Great stay"
07/28/15 Fleischy68 San Rafael, California
We had to vacate our house due to some major renovations and found the Inn Marin just a few miles from our house. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small but functional. The staff very friendly and helpful. We loved swimming in the pool, ordering food on the pool side and hanging out in the garden area. It was great for our 6 year old boy. It actually felt like a vacation :-) The breakfast is complementary and kind of has what you need. (Fruit, cereals, toast, jam, boiled eggs etc) Don't get too excited but it will get you going until you find a nice cafe.

"nice treasure!!"
07/26/15 Sinalcohol San Francisco, California
We wanted a nice, sunny place to stay not too far out of San Francisco and a pool was a must (so thrilled deep end goes to 8 feet deep). I'm an avid Trip Advisor researcher and all the tips came in handy when making our choice. I LOVED this Inn!! It was a busy weekend with a lot of people there with guide dogs for the blind being trained which in no way interfered with a casual, relaxing day by/in the pool. Appreciate that the pool is not filled with a grand amount of chlorine, in fact you could tell salt water was part of the mix - another plus!! Very clean, comfortable rooms and bed - we stayed in room 155 a bit towards the back. Bring a blow dryer if you need to use one, though I'm sure reception can locate one for you. Freeway is visible and you can hear the cars but not enough to inhibit your stay. A swing in one of the 2 swings attached to a HUGE magnolia tree is a must - felt like a kid with no cares... Make sure to eat at Ricky's Restaurant for dinner. Great food at reasonable prices. Staff super accomodating and know their jobs - both in the restaurant and reception. Kid and family friendly - WE WILL BE BACK if not just to stay the night and hang by the pool and listen to Jazz on a Friday or Saturday night :-)

"Not worth the money"

For the money the Inn Marin is not worth it. It is an older inn and not in the best of conditions for the price. For starters the room my wife and I had, we had to kill multiple spiders. The refrigerator didn't work in the room. The finishes of the room where cheap (fixtures, shower head, flooring). The bed was broken and felt like you would roll right off of it. We were traveling with our dog, and the pet fee was the highest we paid on the trip, and the designated area for taking her for a walk was a major joke, it was a tiny little area (about 100 square foot if that) that was overgrown with dead weeds that were just trampled over and blocked by a large pile of debris. The associated restaurant with hotel was way overpriced for the quality of the food. For the price, the quality should have been much higher.

"Enjoyed our stay"

We were very impressed with friendly staff, good food and comfortable room. The pool and patio was clean and inviting. I highly recommend you check them out. Very accomodating with a lot of flexibility to our stay as well. It is difficult finding hotels with such great customer service.

Family friendly. Great garden court yard. Our room was at the back, nice and quiet. Rooms were clean and quaint. Breakfast is okay but same fair daily. They don't put a lot of energy into it. We didnt get to try Rickys, but it seems to be nice. Staff was friendly. I wish they would have told us that they have a shared kitchen for guests to use. We had no idea until late on our last day here. We would stay here again. Very close to the Sonoma Raceway. Easy to find.

"Basic and Clean"

Marin Inn is an older property that could probably use some renovation, but met all of our needs for a one night stay. The room was clean and had what you will need to get going the next day. No frills - just the basics. It is conveniently located near lots to do in the surrounding area. Which made it as a good base for the night.

"Not bad for a quick stay"

We were looking for a place to stay for one night to help break up a long drive and decided on Inn Marin. Front desk staff was friendly and the room was cute and clean. An in-room Keurig was a nice touch. Only complaint with the room is that we could hear the TV from the room next-door as if we had ours on full blast. Luckily they decided to go to sleep around the same time we did otherwise it could have been a huge problem. The hotel grounds are large with an open grassy area and tree swing/chairs. We used the hot tub which was nice and hot but had an odor to it as if no one had added chlorine in a while so we didn't stay in very long. The on-site restaurant was great and they offer a complimentary continental breakfast. Would stay again if we ever find ourselves in Novato.

"Safe and Clean"

Inn Marin was suggested when we planned a trip to see family. While it was very close to their home, it was also close to the Highway. However, if you select a room at the rear of the complex, there is little noise. Parking is directly in front of your room. The façade of the building is rather stark, however the inside of our king suite (room 142) was spacious, clean, fresh smelling, and recently updated. I enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub after a long, stressful day. The bed provided excellent sleep but the center of the fold out sofa bed was sprung and "felt like sleeping on jello." The pet friend grounds are well maintained. Children and dogs will enjoy the large grassy area beside the pool. We noticed at least two pet waste stations on the property. Swinging chairs below the an oak are also a nice whimsical touch. We had hoped to have a drink at Rickey's bar when we returned at 9:30 pm but they were already closed. Breakfast the next morning was utilitarian- boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, apples, oranges, bananas, and a make your own waffle station. Newspapers can be found in the lobby near the front entrance.

"Zero Stairs to Climb and Pet Friendly Too!!!"

We had a super trip to SanFrancisco and opted to stay in Novato, because the prices were way cheaper than they were in the actual city. It was only about 20 miles/45 minutes to San Francisco from the Inn Marin. Our stay at the Inn Marin was very pleasant and the breakfast was included in the price of the room. On the menu for breakfast was waffles/bagels/oatmeal and yogurt with coffee or tea and REAL Whipped Butter-Yum!!!

"Not alone"
03/02/15 JLBabbitt Bend, Oregon
Friendly staff at check-in. The room was nice; obviously an older property that has had some recent attention. Bathroom was adequate, although cramped and with only a shower - no tub. Breakfast was sufficient to start the day; nothing stellar either good or bad, but good for a morning start. I do have to admit to a negative mindset from almost the start, however. As I pulled up to my room and parked the car, I witnessed a heated argument between two people just down the way. I asked the staff at the front desk about this; they admitted to having several "long term guests" and offered to speak to them if the noise "got too bad". Obviously this was not a new problem...I felt very uncomfortable and would have been happy to have been able to check out. For the $$ of the room, I'm surprised people are able to stay long-term. I won't be staying again.
