"Convenient but hard to access from the south."
Overall, we were satisfied with the staff the cleanliness of the hotel and our room, and would have rated our stay higher but for one thing: we paid for our room in advance and did not purchase anything while we were there. Still, the next day our online credit card statement showed we were charged $50.00 for something we did not buy. When we called […] the hotel, the clerk said we would have to call back Monday and speak to the manager (Sandy), which we will do. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
When we arrived the put side was cute. In the lobby was also nice and clean but once in the room it was very dirty the clean remote was not so clean it had something all over it. Needless to say this was the worst room I've stayed in. The beds only had two very flat pillows and forget about taking a shower the towels looked very used no longer worth […] drying off along with fighting with the faucet to pull down the knob to get the shower to work. Overall I would never stay at this hotel again I'd rather take my chances and continue to drive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Easy to find, easy to get to."
Room clean and adequate. Not much for a view, Location fine. Staff helpful. I give a higher rating than the 3.4 listed. Remember, this is Alaska.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room for the night."
Hotel was clean and comfortable. There are very few amenities, so I recommend for people needing a place to sleep for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
For the high price, this mostly unfilled hotel had a magnificent view, but the pool is out of service (no mention in ad), and no breakfast of any kind to offer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Over priced with paper thin walls!!"
This hotel is "just ok". There is very little choice in the area and this hotel is the only option if you want to get some sleep. The beds are not good quality so prepare yourself for mattresses with the comfort of a sleeper sofa. Get to know other hotel guests by way of the paper thin walls! Had trouble sleeping due to the guest next to us staying […] up all night talking!! The front desk was able to relocate just before midnight to a room with no guests on either side of us. As an Alaska resident, it is frustrating how much to cost of a hotel goes up in the Summer! WOW! 4X!! Makes tent camping a great option. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and clean place to stay"
It was clean and well decorated. Easy to find, but hard to get to. Pillows were a little flat. Overall a good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All the Staff were very nice, I would definately stay here again in the long term suites they have a full kitchen with Stove Oven, Dishwasher, Full Refrigerator, a comfortable pull out bed and a nice Queen, there was even two TV's one in the living room and one in the bedroom, I thought this place was great for the price. The Lounge serves good food […] at night and has Karoke on the weekends. Great Place to stay and the View really is GRAND!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pretty okay and decent."
This hotel is about one hour drive from Anchorage. Wasila doesn't have any attraction except the dog trail headquarters. This hotel is pretty decent and relatively clean. This is the cheapest decent hotel you can find near Anchorage!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand view Visit"
Very adequate for the area, pleasing decour outside and inside. Room furnished one pillow per person, one hand towel, toilet little crusty under the ledge. Also TV did not line up well with sitting area or bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand View Inn and Suites welcomed a large dog!"
Although the entrance to the hotel was not the easiest to find, the stay there was fine. With a large dog, there are no other hotels allowing pets to stay. This was a great convenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked our stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We do have a couple suggestions. it would be move convenient if the pet room was on the first floor to make walking them easier. We do appreciate that they do accept pets. it would have been nice to have had a writing tablet and pen in the room to take telephone messages. We did regret there […] was no breakfast available. Also it would have been nice to have more gravel on the parking lot with all the icey conditions. We will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have worked in hotels and i have never had service, the front desk women had no idea what they were doing and to be honest a bit rude, the hotel was under construction the whole time, i wasnt informed the pool wasnt available and that was the main reason i pick that hotel, and the walls of the rooms were scuffed and dirty, the parking lot was in a […] very inaccessible location as well as poorly plowed, and having to drive threw a restaurant parking lot in the evening is horrible! "Grand View is spacious and comfortable."
The GrandView does have a grand view -- on the south side of the building. The room was very spacious and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Signage is needed up along the Parks Hwy to indicate you must turn into the Chili's Restaurant to access the hotel. Carpet could use a thorough cleaning, like behind the door and under the bed stand. Overall was acceptable room but certainly not worth the room rate they ask for. The pool has been closed for 3 months.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay stay not worth what we paid for it"
The clerk failed to tell us what the password was for the wi-fi only to find out the wi-fi works only in the lobby. No guest information book. Workout room had no heat, everything was broken. The pool was closed. Only two towls and one wash cloth were in the bathroom. Only one ice machine in the whole building, which is located on lower level.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent basic hotel room and service"
We went to Wasilla, AK for my son's basketball tournament. After reading some of the reviews, we were prepared for the worst. To our surprise, the room was clean and everything in it seemed to work except for the free high speed wireless internet. We could not log on at all. The on line reviews were accurate in many aspects. The pillows were tiny and […] gave little support. The pool was closed, which on line reviewers say happens a lot. Our room was by the stairs, so we did hear some doors slamming throughout the night. We checked in at 5:30 pm and went out to dinner and then came back in to watch the HBO movie. We checked out by 9:30 am the following day. It was a decent place to stay for one night. It was nothing special but it was a clean room at a reasonable price for one night. We would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"May try it one more time."
The view of the bedding (sheets and pillow) did not appear fresh. This alone made us feel apprehensive. When we pull the covers back on the beds they need to appear crisp and fresh not wrinkled.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A little odd, but a great hotel"
The Grand View is a little odd in it's approach to extended stay. I've never had an extended stay hotel make your bed daily, or change your towels daily... but the Grand View apparently goes above and beyond. Their customer service is fantastic. However, an extended stay hotel with no hangers in the closet? A bit odd to say the least. Pots, pans, dishes […] at the handy... but no spatula or measuring cups? Never seen it before. All in all, the Grand View seems to really handle the big details well, but forgets some of the little ones that make an extended stay hotel memorable. But that's okay. I can buy a measuring cup and a spatula to leave behind for the next guy. I can live without hangers. The Grand View more than makes up for those minor flaws with what they offer in comfort and convenience. When I visit Wasilla from now on, this is where I will be staying. "Grand View Inn, Wasilla, AK"
This was my 2nd stay. Desk personnel very pleasant, hotel clean. Room heat/cool worked very well. The bed pillows were not the fullest and there were only 2, so not much for propping up in bed. Had a good chicken ceasar salad in the lounge one night. Finding out how to get to the hotel from the highway was NOT marked or clear - could use a sign down […] by the Chili's restaurant entrance to point the way. Will stay here again [now that I know how to get in]. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was excellent. Only complaint is that the lights in the hallway to our room were burnt out so it was dark and hard to see to open the doorGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not customer centric by any means"
Not impreesed. We stayed here because it was the most conveniently located. There were two tiny pillows on the queen size bed, two little towels, no lotion to be found in the room. There was LOUD karaoke going on TWO FLOORS below us. And the worst thing: the shower curtain was so dingy I didn't feel clean getting out of the shower. Up side: the bed […] was comfortable, it would have been nice to have an extra pillow since the ones they provide are literally the same dimensions as a milk crate. For the price, What are you supposed to get? But still, a business should be run better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a bad stay"
We came into to town for a doctor's appointment. The staff was friendly and we were promptly checked in. The room was very clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable. The only thing that was missing was extra pillows for my expecting wife. A few extra channels on the t.v. would have been nice as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right off the highway"
The hotel was conveniently located on the main highway from Anchorage to Wasilla. But getting into the parking lot traveling from Anchorage was a bit confusing. The room was large and had a window you could open. But we were on the highway side of the building, so there was some traffic noise. Ask for a room on the backside if you have a choice. Our […] room had a queen bed (other choice would be two doubles) that was adequate and clean. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but it looks like at one time they might have. And the restaurant on premise was closed. But there is a great restaurant down the street, Windbreak Cafe, that you should try. If it is your first time to Alaska, try the Reindeer sausage. Less grease then regular sausage. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My only real complaint is that we were in a jacuzzi suite and there werent any "extra" towels. We have stayed here before and ended up staying a second night this time, and will probably stay again in the near future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, easy to find & probably the cleanest bathroom I've seen in a hotel in a while. The beds left a bit to be desired but overall a good stay with a family friendly atmosphere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so friendly"
Privately owned and they have obviously had problems with guests damaging things in the past as there are silly notices up with dos and donts which made us feel like we were back in school. Nice enough hotel but the staff were rude at the front desk, there was no 'Hi how are you' that we had come to enjoy at other hotels in Alaska. If I had not booked […] in advance I would not have even enquired if they had any rooms. The facilities advertised, like pool, were all closed. We used their restaurant as there was nowhere within easy walking. Again it was the service that let it down badly. Wasilla was the only area we were in during our 3 week Alaska trip that we did not feel welcome, even when we were out and about in the neighbourhood. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"not bad, not great…"
07/12/14 kerryQuade Brooklyn, New York
it's a place to rest your head and has the basics… but that's about it. was in town with a group with a full schedue and we were all mobile so we had meals elsewhere. the downstairs lounge seems to keep early hours except on karoke nights…i was on the 3rd floor at the opposite end so was not affected but can see how that may be a bit of a concern on the lower floors and closer to the lounge. locals, the restaurant next door was a good stop for pizza and a beer.
Flew in a day early our hotel we made reservations at was full so we where forced to stay here as they where the only hotel open and with rooms. Desk clerk was very unhelpful and made us feel as if we where a inconvenience. We stayed due to the fact it was 3am and we both were exhausted from the flight. Also be aware of a $200 deposit that they probably won't tell you about when checking in. I found out later that most hotels require this but they never told us at any time.

Stayed at the Grand View Inn in Wasilla from June 20 to June 26, 2014. Nothing really fancy for the $170 per night, but it meets you needs and fairly decent for AK standards. Some others who reviewed are correct, there is no breakfast and on the weekend there is the karaoke crowd. I stayed on the 3rd floor and really didn't notice it. Room was clean, old style tube TV that worked just fine, refrigerator and Microwave. Come here once per year and usually stay at the Best Western at Lake Lucille. The Best Western has a nicer view (lake) and serves the standard continental breakfast (nothing to write home about), the rooms (at least mine) at the Grand View was better. About the same price at both hotels. If you need hotel breakfast, this is not the place, however there are good diners in town. Overall nothing to complain.

We stayed for 1 night on Memorial Day. We were oart of a British tour group. We knew the hotel didn't do breakfast but nobody told us the dining room was closed on the evening of the public holiday. After a day on the road rooms fronting a busy highway was also not welcome.

Clean and very comfortable rooms, good beds, fairly spacious rooms, good size bathroom, great staff the will help you with anything, laundry room decently priced, workout room with dumb bells (only wish they had a bench so one could get a good workout with them). Will be moving over to the extended stay side in a week or so. Dated TV's and terrible WiFi are the two drawbacks so far, but I've found ways around that. Morning coffee on the back deck gives you a great view of the mountains! There is also a bar and grill on the premises, but the food is a little on the pricey side, enough so that you won't be eating there on a regular basis if your budget minded. No breakfast of any kind is served.
"Not a bad hotel"
05/14/14 Fairbanks_traveller Fairbanks, Alaska
I was here for 6 weeks while attending training, and it was not a bad hotel. Since I was in the extended stay portion, I was one building away from the karaoke bar and didn't have any of the noises that some people had. The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms and showers were clean. although a little dated, and the living room furniture was older and starting to sag. But the kitchen was very nice - newer fridge (full sized), great oven and counter space. Room service was spotty - I had left a message that I only wanted a change of towels and sheets once a week, and some days the bed was made and other days not. the kitchen was always cleaned, however. There is no wi-fi in the room, however and you must go to the main lobby to use an in house computer (worked 50% of the time) or wi-fi. The one thing to be aware of is that for some reason they charged long distance rates on a toll free phone number dialed from the room phone. When the manager was approached by me on this, she basically said that was what the phone company charged, thus that's what they passed on to the customer. I even asked her to ask the phone company why they were charging for toll free calls, and she refused. It took a threat of going to the attorney general's office with a formal complaint that they dropped those charges on my bill.

Our stay was clean and comfortable! The staff were perfectly nice. After reading reviews we asked for a room not over the restaurant and were given one. (Although they are only open til midnight so it wouldn't of been a huge deal) There was no continental breakfast but we were aware of this and the restaurant's hours when we booked the hotel online so no surprise there. Overall the room and hotel were nice, clean and conveniently located. Just as advertised online. I was told the restaurant downstairs used to be leased out and is now under new owners and our one trip down there we had great food! Bright and also clean with a partial view- good experience!

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly but this property is limited amenities wise. There is no continental breakfast nor on-site restaurant open during the breakfast hours. The fitness room was closed. There is 24/7 coffee.
"Should have read the reviews!!"

The main reason we chose this hotel was because they allow pets. We checked in about 10:30pm after a drive from Fairbanks. The first thing we noticed was the party going in in the bar downstairs. Very loud. We got settled into our room to the thumping bass of karaoke. We managed to get to sleep. We were awoken at about 2:30am to what sounded like a porn movie being filmed in our room. Our neighbors must have closed down the karaoke and thought they were rockstars at the after party. Fortunately, "minuteman" was done in a jiffy. So about the time we are drifting back to sleep, minuteman starts snoring. The walls are that thin. They have karaoke Friday and Saturday night. The rooms are fair, at best. Nothing to brag about. I think this hotel is all original, meaning nothing has ever been updated since it was built. Next time, we will stay elsewhere.
"Don't stay here Fri or Sat nights"
02/15/14 K K Eureka, California
You won't get any sleep. There's a bar in the basement that has karaoke on the weekends and it is obnoxiously loud. Called the front desk several times and they said there's nothing they can do about it. Horribly designed hotel, who puts sleeping rooms above a rowdy bar? Seriously now. I'd be better off sleeping in the car. Never again. I can't believe a business is allowed to carry on like this.
