"Convenient but hard to access from the south."
Overall, we were satisfied with the staff the cleanliness of the hotel and our room, and would have rated our stay higher but for one thing: we paid for our room in advance and did not purchase anything while we were there. Still, the next day our online credit card statement showed we were charged $50.00 for something we did not buy. When we called […] the hotel, the clerk said we would have to call back Monday and speak to the manager (Sandy), which we will do. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
When we arrived the put side was cute. In the lobby was also nice and clean but once in the room it was very dirty the clean remote was not so clean it had something all over it. Needless to say this was the worst room I've stayed in. The beds only had two very flat pillows and forget about taking a shower the towels looked very used no longer worth […] drying off along with fighting with the faucet to pull down the knob to get the shower to work. Overall I would never stay at this hotel again I'd rather take my chances and continue to drive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Easy to find, easy to get to."
Room clean and adequate. Not much for a view, Location fine. Staff helpful. I give a higher rating than the 3.4 listed. Remember, this is Alaska.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room for the night."
Hotel was clean and comfortable. There are very few amenities, so I recommend for people needing a place to sleep for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
For the high price, this mostly unfilled hotel had a magnificent view, but the pool is out of service (no mention in ad), and no breakfast of any kind to offer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Over priced with paper thin walls!!"
This hotel is "just ok". There is very little choice in the area and this hotel is the only option if you want to get some sleep. The beds are not good quality so prepare yourself for mattresses with the comfort of a sleeper sofa. Get to know other hotel guests by way of the paper thin walls! Had trouble sleeping due to the guest next to us staying […] up all night talking!! The front desk was able to relocate just before midnight to a room with no guests on either side of us. As an Alaska resident, it is frustrating how much to cost of a hotel goes up in the Summer! WOW! 4X!! Makes tent camping a great option. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and clean place to stay"
It was clean and well decorated. Easy to find, but hard to get to. Pillows were a little flat. Overall a good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All the Staff were very nice, I would definately stay here again in the long term suites they have a full kitchen with Stove Oven, Dishwasher, Full Refrigerator, a comfortable pull out bed and a nice Queen, there was even two TV's one in the living room and one in the bedroom, I thought this place was great for the price. The Lounge serves good food […] at night and has Karoke on the weekends. Great Place to stay and the View really is GRAND!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pretty okay and decent."
This hotel is about one hour drive from Anchorage. Wasila doesn't have any attraction except the dog trail headquarters. This hotel is pretty decent and relatively clean. This is the cheapest decent hotel you can find near Anchorage!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand view Visit"
Very adequate for the area, pleasing decour outside and inside. Room furnished one pillow per person, one hand towel, toilet little crusty under the ledge. Also TV did not line up well with sitting area or bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Grand View Inn and Suites welcomed a large dog!"
Although the entrance to the hotel was not the easiest to find, the stay there was fine. With a large dog, there are no other hotels allowing pets to stay. This was a great convenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked our stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We do have a couple suggestions. it would be move convenient if the pet room was on the first floor to make walking them easier. We do appreciate that they do accept pets. it would have been nice to have had a writing tablet and pen in the room to take telephone messages. We did regret there […] was no breakfast available. Also it would have been nice to have more gravel on the parking lot with all the icey conditions. We will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have worked in hotels and i have never had service, the front desk women had no idea what they were doing and to be honest a bit rude, the hotel was under construction the whole time, i wasnt informed the pool wasnt available and that was the main reason i pick that hotel, and the walls of the rooms were scuffed and dirty, the parking lot was in a […] very inaccessible location as well as poorly plowed, and having to drive threw a restaurant parking lot in the evening is horrible! "Grand View is spacious and comfortable."
The GrandView does have a grand view -- on the south side of the building. The room was very spacious and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Signage is needed up along the Parks Hwy to indicate you must turn into the Chili's Restaurant to access the hotel. Carpet could use a thorough cleaning, like behind the door and under the bed stand. Overall was acceptable room but certainly not worth the room rate they ask for. The pool has been closed for 3 months.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay stay not worth what we paid for it"
The clerk failed to tell us what the password was for the wi-fi only to find out the wi-fi works only in the lobby. No guest information book. Workout room had no heat, everything was broken. The pool was closed. Only two towls and one wash cloth were in the bathroom. Only one ice machine in the whole building, which is located on lower level.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent basic hotel room and service"
We went to Wasilla, AK for my son's basketball tournament. After reading some of the reviews, we were prepared for the worst. To our surprise, the room was clean and everything in it seemed to work except for the free high speed wireless internet. We could not log on at all. The on line reviews were accurate in many aspects. The pillows were tiny and […] gave little support. The pool was closed, which on line reviewers say happens a lot. Our room was by the stairs, so we did hear some doors slamming throughout the night. We checked in at 5:30 pm and went out to dinner and then came back in to watch the HBO movie. We checked out by 9:30 am the following day. It was a decent place to stay for one night. It was nothing special but it was a clean room at a reasonable price for one night. We would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"May try it one more time."
The view of the bedding (sheets and pillow) did not appear fresh. This alone made us feel apprehensive. When we pull the covers back on the beds they need to appear crisp and fresh not wrinkled.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A little odd, but a great hotel"
The Grand View is a little odd in it's approach to extended stay. I've never had an extended stay hotel make your bed daily, or change your towels daily... but the Grand View apparently goes above and beyond. Their customer service is fantastic. However, an extended stay hotel with no hangers in the closet? A bit odd to say the least. Pots, pans, dishes […] at the handy... but no spatula or measuring cups? Never seen it before. All in all, the Grand View seems to really handle the big details well, but forgets some of the little ones that make an extended stay hotel memorable. But that's okay. I can buy a measuring cup and a spatula to leave behind for the next guy. I can live without hangers. The Grand View more than makes up for those minor flaws with what they offer in comfort and convenience. When I visit Wasilla from now on, this is where I will be staying. "Grand View Inn, Wasilla, AK"
This was my 2nd stay. Desk personnel very pleasant, hotel clean. Room heat/cool worked very well. The bed pillows were not the fullest and there were only 2, so not much for propping up in bed. Had a good chicken ceasar salad in the lounge one night. Finding out how to get to the hotel from the highway was NOT marked or clear - could use a sign down […] by the Chili's restaurant entrance to point the way. Will stay here again [now that I know how to get in]. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was excellent. Only complaint is that the lights in the hallway to our room were burnt out so it was dark and hard to see to open the doorGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not customer centric by any means"
Not impreesed. We stayed here because it was the most conveniently located. There were two tiny pillows on the queen size bed, two little towels, no lotion to be found in the room. There was LOUD karaoke going on TWO FLOORS below us. And the worst thing: the shower curtain was so dingy I didn't feel clean getting out of the shower. Up side: the bed […] was comfortable, it would have been nice to have an extra pillow since the ones they provide are literally the same dimensions as a milk crate. For the price, What are you supposed to get? But still, a business should be run better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a bad stay"
We came into to town for a doctor's appointment. The staff was friendly and we were promptly checked in. The room was very clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable. The only thing that was missing was extra pillows for my expecting wife. A few extra channels on the t.v. would have been nice as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, easy to find & probably the cleanest bathroom I've seen in a hotel in a while. The beds left a bit to be desired but overall a good stay with a family friendly atmosphere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so friendly"
Privately owned and they have obviously had problems with guests damaging things in the past as there are silly notices up with dos and donts which made us feel like we were back in school. Nice enough hotel but the staff were rude at the front desk, there was no 'Hi how are you' that we had come to enjoy at other hotels in Alaska. If I had not booked […] in advance I would not have even enquired if they had any rooms. The facilities advertised, like pool, were all closed. We used their restaurant as there was nowhere within easy walking. Again it was the service that let it down badly. Wasilla was the only area we were in during our 3 week Alaska trip that we did not feel welcome, even when we were out and about in the neighbourhood. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very expensive room certainly not worth the money!"
09/10/14 Bobbi M
I recently stayed for one night at $189.00. Much too expensive! I had a choice of a room over the karaoke bar downstairs or highway side room. The hotel was built very poorly as you could hear everyone and everything around you. The highway was noisy all night. The pillows were like sleeping on rolled up sleeping bags and the bedding was rough like a horse blanket and I personally did not want to have it on me. The staff was friendly and nice.
"Very disappointed for $169 a night, especially when I arrived at 3 am."
08/25/14 katt238 Portland Oregon
Uncomfortable bed. Gross looking mattress. Cool water shower that mostly trickled. Very hard water. Noisy place off main road. Hard to find where to turn in to hotel. Staff was ok. A little phony. Karaoke bar was nice. That was it. Would never stay there again.
"WHAT A WASTE!!!!"
Let me warn you: if you decide to stay here, be prepared to feel like you pulled $183.79per night (oh and don't forget the extra $250 they pull out as a deposit) out of your pocket, lit it on fire, and then flushed it down the toilet. WHAT A WASTE!!! My husband and I are about to check out of the Grandview in about an hour and I can't wait to get out of here. We live in Wasilla, AK so we don't usually have a reason to stay at a local hotel but we were just married and decided to spend our wedding night away from home. Since the Grandview is one of the newest hotels, the 2nd most expensive hotel, and has a great bar, we assumed it would be nice... Oh, were we so wrong!!! 1. Regardless of the fact that the hotel is the newest one in town, the rooms are extremely old and outdated. I mean, come on, I didn't even know ANY hotels had crappy tube TV's in them anymore?!?! It wasn't "dirty" but it didn't seem super clean either. It has the smell of mildew and just seems "icky". 2. All the doors in our room (front door and bathroom door) have to be slammed HARD to even close as they are almost broken. 3. $183 a night for a hotels with NOTHING to offer as amenities?!? Come on.... There is no pool, no contenintal breakfast, no cable or movie channels, crappy OLD tube TV, unfriendly, snobby staff, and just sucks! I'm seriously questioning what the $183 actually pays for because any other hotel in town (except Best Western) is almost 1/2 the price and they offer at least one or more of the above. This place sucks!!! 4. When we checked in, the front desk clerk gave us the wifi pass code on the back of the key card. A few hours later, my husband went to use it on his iPad but it wouldn't connect. I went to the front desk and asked for help and that's when she informed me that the wifi wasn't for the ROOMS but was only available in the LOBBY!!! What hotel does that in this age of technology?!? Especially an overpriced hotel such as this one! 5. Just a "Heads Up": the so called gift shop that is in the Grandview's website photo gallery is nothing more than a tiny room, not much bigger than a closet, stuffed full of crappy junk. I don't know how they for the pic to look so good but I promise that's not at all what it looks like! I could honestly keep this list going a while longer but I am just ready to get out of here. I will NEVER waste money here ever again and I urge you to think twice before staying here again.... It really is AWFUL!!
"Comfortable and Pleasant"
08/02/14 enjdav Orlando, Florida
We did not have reservations in this area, and we were pleased to get a top floor room with a nice view of the mountains. The hotel isn't fancy, but it is more than adequate for an overnight in Wasilla. The room was large, clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were quite pleased to have found it!
"Should have just brought a tent"
Not impressed, not that I was expecting a whole lot to begin with. First off the room although clean smelled of old socks and out dated there has not been an up grade in at least 15 to 20 years. I was In a single bed room that was originally a double, obvious because there was a small bed with a void in the room where the other one use to be, two lambs but one was missing a bulb, cheap. On the topic of cheap no breakfast but you can buy a shriveled orange or brown banana for $1.50. The food here is terrible and takes for ever and if that wasn't bad enough I had to sit though loud karaoke by the time I got my food I just took the plate to my room. Don't leave any thing on your bed because they won't make it, I had left a note pad on the bed and when I returned there was a note left " we could not make your bed on account of personal items left on the bed" a NOTE PAD obviously the house keeping is just as lazy as the cooks smoking weed in the back. The friendliness of the staff is less then desirable, if you think you could at least get a smile or a good morning from any one, you would be wrong
"Great People and service"
07/30/14 Lois Haynes A Nampa, Idaho
Great place, clean and neat. Our truck broke down in Wasilla and the staff went out of their way to get us to needed places and to the repair shop. Very friendly staff. I could only put an excellent rating on this hotel, but it deserves much, much more. Thanks again for all your help.
07/24/14 Northed Norway
The room is a bit dated, but relatively big and also rather clean. The woolen plaids on the beds were however not the cleanest and need replacement or at least to be washed. It is not possible to get breakfast in the hotel. The view is very pretty. Be carefull when you enter or leave the highway which is is front of the hotel, it is busy and they drive fast!
"Long Term Stay"
07/15/14 Larry L
We have been here now for 2 1/2 months since the first of May 2014. Sandy & her lobby staff have been great to work with day & night. The cleaning staff have also been great, providing us with spotlessly clean room, wonderful towels and linens, pleasing furnishings and firm comfortable mattress. A hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang clothing or a robe would be a nice touch. We have eaten downstairs at the hotel restaurant several times & the food is delicious! Soups & Salads are to die for. All the people at the front desk and other staff (downstairs restaurant) have been very polite and efficient. Our stay here has been great! We will definitely stay there again!
"Bad 5 times"
07/15/14 jj199140 Anchorage
I have been to some hotels that are bad once or twice but 5 times is to many times for forgiveness. The cleanliness was below average the people that work there are depressing the they play loud karaoke wen your trying to sleep. The whole restaurant crew looks like they have been smoking pot. Which brings me to this other point that when I would go eat the food took longer than 25 min my wife and I ordered some burgers and there was only 4 other people there. So I go to smoke a cigarette outside and walk towards the back and there would be a kid with glasses smokeing pot with some other kid and they would look around all scared. like no one knows the smell of marijuana. Then when there done they go inside the back door. I came In and still didn't have my food. Smh I kept going back because I like the view. But that's it.
"not bad, not great…"
07/12/14 kerryQuade Brooklyn, New York
it's a place to rest your head and has the basics… but that's about it. was in town with a group with a full schedue and we were all mobile so we had meals elsewhere. the downstairs lounge seems to keep early hours except on karoke nights…i was on the 3rd floor at the opposite end so was not affected but can see how that may be a bit of a concern on the lower floors and closer to the lounge. locals, the restaurant next door was a good stop for pizza and a beer.
