Silken Puerta Malaga - Malaga

This hotel is literally 2 minutes from the train station walking which is easily accessible from the airport. It is about 15-20 minutes to the center but everything at the hotel was great. The sauna/gym was really nice and the breakfast was great. Well worth it and would definitely stay there again.

I was impressed at how close it was to the train station and to my rental car office. I got dropped off at the train station, stayed the night then rented a car. When I came back with the car I stayed again at the hotel and then took the train to Madrid. So, very handy for me. I would stay there again.

The shower is awful! 1) The water went from hot to cold every 30 seconds 2) the shower was configured with the water spraying from the middle of the tub rather than the end which meant water continuously sprayed onto the floor. I had to stand in an awkward position which seemed silly. The room was pretty small and had a view of nothing even from […] a relatively high floor. The TV looked like it was from 1985 The wifi for some weird reason required me to go to the reception to ask for a password which then worked near the reception but on no other wireless hotspot in the hotel. Don't expect any reception in your room though it seems they added hotspots to the areas near the elevators only. Our room was 2 doors away and I had no signal in the room. Silken Puerta Malaga is close to the railway station, but too far from the city center & walking street area to make it a relaxed walk. The Silken Puerta Malaga was in a very convenient location for us. We arrived on the train from the airport in the evening and were leaving by train the next day so the hotel is in an ideal location - close to the station. I was entirely happy with the service, comfort and convenience.

a beautiful and well kept hotel, with great staff. BUT the thinnest walls I have ever experienced. We heard the next door hotel room occupants having sex, talking, showering at 5.30 in the morning. shockingly noisy and a real, genuine disappointment. will avoid like the plague in future.

Arrangements for breakfast a bit narrow ie no buffet, just a choice of 5 types - mine was one white bread roll with cheese, marmelade, the sort of breakfast […] you'd get in a 2 star hotel. At NH Hotels down the road they had an enormous buffet for breakfast. At dinner there was no scope to have vegetables with my main course and when I asked for a green salad, they brought me an entire main course mixed salad which was too much. As our flight was arriving in the evening we wanted somewhere that was easily accessible from the airport but still close enough to town to be able to get some dinner and see a bit of Malaga, rather than staying in an airport hotel. This fit the bill perfectly, as it's a two minute walk from the railway station (you can get a train directly from the […] airport which takes about 10/15 minutes). It was about a 15 minute walk to the old town and maybe half an hour to the waterfront where there are loads of places to eat and drink. You can also eat at the hotel (the menu looked pretty good although we didn't actually eat there) and there is a bar. The hotel itself is sleek and modern, the rooms are a decent size and well fitted out. Everything seemed pretty new, and the bed was really comfy. We were also given free wifi access. The only slight negative was that there were no drink-making facilities in the room, I think this is usually the case in Spain although a bit unusual for a four star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel for it's convenient location both in terms of access to the airport and proximity to the town. It does have underground parking too. Although there are plenty of hotels to choose from that are a bit closer to the town centre, this hotel met our needs and was reasonably priced for the standard of accommodation. Read more

I would have given this 5 stars had it not been the fact that the hotel claims to have a gymnasium and it was one of the reasons I chose it. That and its proximity to Malaga Central Station.
