The hotel and surrounding town are charming. It was very relaxing and a good location to be based. Next time I would rent a car to drive around the island as it is so small it is easy to drive around Santorini in a day. It is a pity that the pool and jacuzzi were not warm enough, but hopefully they can improve upon that. The staff are more than accommodating and went above and beyond the call of duty, including upgrading my friend and I to nicer rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We stayed here for one-night because it was a Starwood property and expected good service. Unfortunately, this was the worst hotel experience of our 3 week trip across Europe. The hotel concierge was unresponsive prior to arrival and failed to arrange our "free" transfer from the Ferry to the hotel, so we were left at the port / terminal without transportation on arrival. The hotel was not in a convenient location and we had other issues with the hotel concierge's complimentary transfer services. The hotel was far from other sites and inconveniently located. The pool was nice, but overall, the hotel concierge was over-worked, not helpful, and unapologetic about a number of basic guest needs. This hotel was understaffed for the number of guests, location, and the price we paid for the room. We left in a hurry and wished we had stayed somewhere else.

The rooms were exactly as advertised and beautifully maintained. Breakfast was perfect with great coffee! All staff were knowledgeable and friendly. They even prepared coffee at 515 in the morning before we had to leave for the airport. Drinks were a little expensive at the pool bar and the music at the pool was a bit strange. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely go back.

This is not a main City 5*, but is highly recommended. Located in a lovely quiet village it offers good accommodation in a tranquil setting and in easy reach of other locations/interests. The front desk staff were very helpful and the standards of food and service were high. Our only quibbles were that the main pool was too cold and that the hotel's audio system damaged a CD that was a birthday present to my wife. I reported this, but was disappointed that the hotel did not offer a replacement or compensation. These only slightly marred a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We stayed at the Vedema for 3 days while travelling trough Greece for our honeymoon. Hotel was very unique and charming, built on a very old winery. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was great. Rooms were large and comfortable and very nicely decorated. Not the most convenient location, however the hotel has a great complimentary shuttle service you can take into the town (Fira) or to the private beach.

"Best little hotel"

Stuff unbelievable. Food BEST. VIEW BEST. We loved it thank you thank you for having us. Please say hi to George and George and the other wait staff. We end up changing our room as it was hard for me to get to that beautiful room they gave us initially however the one we end up getting was right next to pool and so easy to get in and get out.

"Amazing place and amazing service - Perfect"

Just a magical time. We loved this place so much and Megalochori is the best hidden gem, such a charming village with great people and food. I cannot wait until our return. Panos and the staff were so hospitable we would love to return the favor.

"Beautiful Resort, Attentive Staff, but Very Isolated"
05/27/15 Ann B
Hotel was beautiful... Very unique suites... Some with private pools, some with hot tubs, some smaller than others. Was an old winery so has some unique features including wine tasting in one of the wine cellars, a private dining room for a couple to spend that special evening and a spa. Staff went out of the way to make our stay wonderful ... Even send someone to the pharmacy to get my partner muscle relaxers when she hurt her back! Concierge service was excellent... Scheduling a private guide for us when out planned excursion to the volcano was cancelled due to bad weather! My only criticisms involve the location... Not near the sea or town. 15 Euro cab ride to Fira... more to the beach. You can rent a 4 wheel ATV or car relatively cheaply... Although you need nerves of steel to navigate the narrow winding roads. If my partner hadn't hurt her back I would have rented an ATV for the time we were there. All in all... a wonderful place to chill out!

Vedema, is the perfect luxury resort. If you're looking to get away from the tourist-crowded hotels and relax in a beautiful unique setting.....this is the place for you. Not only is this a unique resort but the service is impeccable and the people that work there are so nice and helpful.

"Luxury retreat away from the water"

This is a perfect resort type place for honeymooners! It is located in a little village away from Fira with a very quiet and serene surroundings. The suite we had was beautiful with cool furnishings and luxurious bathroom, etc. and had a partial view of the water from a distance. The staff were very helpful and nice. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Fira and the Beach. I would only recommend this hotel to honeymooners!

"Stunning hotel in Santorini"

Gorgeous + huge rooms, fabulous wine tasting in old wine cellar, and very relaxing. Take the shuttle to the black sand beach and enjoy a relaxing day on sun beds sipping wine or beer. Come back for a wine tasting and delicious dinner.

"Unique property in a beautiful village away from the coast"
05/17/15 JonnyDodge London, United Kingdom
Vedema, has a unique feel, Santorini is known for it cliff top hotels along the coast but if your looking for a break from this or something to break up your trip this vineyard style property is great. Of course SPG have a premium price point but the hotel is unique in every way so if your looking for different side of Santorini this is the spot total relaxation

"Beautiful resort in charming village..."
05/16/15 KatStam Montclair, New Jersey
We spent several nights at this resort while exploring Santorini. Although it is not near the beach nor does it have a "view", it is right in a charming village Megalochori. They have a shuttle to the black beach (only found out abt this near the end of our stay). The kids loved the pool, but certainly would have enjoyed some beach time. There are a few reataurants and convenience stores nearby within walking distance as well as a great mom and pop bakery close by - Good for a casual lunch or morning pastries. Our family of five had a two floor suite with great space and sitting area. The reataurants were pricey but good. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. We would stay here again!

"Inland!"
04/25/15 born2sunbathe New York
Folks seem surprised that this hotel is not on the water (no view), even though every single review is clear on that point. Let me reiterate, Not On The Water. No Views. That being said, this is a lovely property. Incredibly charming. Built into an old vineyard, it is quite special. Our room was grande, with a private plunge pool (any excuse for my boyfriend to be naked). We walked to a restaurant on the Caldera for dinner (10 minutes), Arthermi. It was one of our favorite of the trip. We took advantage of the shuttle to the black sand beach (hot) and they kindly drove us to our next hotel on the Caldera. (Knowing this hotel was inland, we planned our trip to move to a Caldera hotel, but so glad we were able to experience Vedema).
