It is your standard hotel located in and around a not so nice area. If you have to travel from the train station to the hotel, you will notice this. If you have business in Dandenong, stay here. If you are trying to visit Melbourne stay away! Addressing the disappointing upkeep score. It was New Year’s night and I could not get into the secure car park […] or the front door with my key card. My wife and I could have been placed in jeopardy. The hotel staff let us know that they were working on the situation and to their credit they did try to let us in to the hotel within 5 min of standing out on the street with all sorts of people strolling by, none of whom a cop. Excellent room fit-out but poorly maintained. The shower needed a good clean with bleach. Body wash and shampoo dispensers broken and out of use. Worn carpets in stair wells. Untidy office visible from reception. Great meal in the restaurant. Good staff at reception.

One of the reasons I booked your hotel was because it had internet in the rooms. I was very disappointed to discover, on arrival, that it was broadband only, not WIFI. Only having an Ipad, I could not connect to the internet with your internet cable provided. At breakfast I asked for a newspaper only to be told to look for one myself. I found the dining […] area very noisy, wood floors and concrete walls tend to bounce and accentuate sounds. On the first morning food in the warmers was cold. An excellent hotel in all respects except for one. This hotel has international tourist folk staying over, with their arrival and departure being at any time of the day or night. It was impossible to have an uninterrupted nights sleep when folk in the next room(s) were either banging around, watching TV, using time alarms, talking loudly or yelling […] up or down corridors, sneezing very loudly in corridors etc etc., presumably in line with their arrival/departure times. And any or all of these occurred at any time of the night. The hotel management needs to have a close look at their guest types and at least attempt to somewhat isolate these international tourist guests from the 'ordinary' guests in terms of room allocation, when those guests have late arrival or early departure. The room was average but met my needs. A bit more noise carried between rooms and from hallways that I have noticed in other hotels but it didn't disturb me too much. I spent a lot of time working in my room and even though the desk was small, I found I could spread my paperwork over the bed and still have it at arm's reach. I ordered the lamb cutlets […] from room service and they were DELICIOUS. The breakfast the next morning was average - the scrambled eggs were rubbery but everything else was fine. The staff were all very polite and helpful - certainly no complaints there. I usually stay in the city but on this occasion needed to be in Hallam so tried the Ramada. The room fee included secure parking, internet and breakfast so was great value for a business traveller. I will stay again if I need to be in this area overnight. Read more

The walls are very thin but it is very clean and quite comfortable. The heating was already turned on for me before I checked in so I was welcomed into a cosy room (I couldn't work out how to operate it last stay, this time it was just turn on/off).

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and tidy, and spacious. The bathroom was very clean and tidy and spacious also. The one complaint that I had about the stay was that the shampoo and body wash were inside wall dispensers, but BOTH were EMPTY. Fortunately I had my own toiletries to fall back on.

Expedia state that there are laundry facilities on site. In fact you have to drive about 2 k to a self-service one. Travel into Melbourne by train is about 40 mins.

I stayed here to attend a job interview. It was overall a nice place and i would stay again. Parking was free and secure. Food in the restaurant was fresh and once i worked out the heater it was nice and cosy. Just don't forget to take your hair dryer ladies.

The Ramada is a comfortable hotel like many others. The major difference with this hotel has to be the staff, they were so helpful and quick to respond to requests making our experience all the more enjoyable.

As I travel around the world, I have become too closely acquainted with hotels that are sometimes disastrously managed. So it is a pleasure to stay at a hotel which is run like clockwork and where the staff are positive, welcoming and are ready to accede to any reasonable request. The management team at this Ramada are top-notch. Now the area of the […] hotel, in a distant suburb of Melbourne might seem like a drawback. But, in my opinion, staying in Dandenong is a plus. You get a much better flavor for the fabled ethnic tessellation that Melbourne is rightly famous for and proud of in the suburb than in the center, simply because the place is more authentic and far less touristic. Restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores and tailors of every conceivable ethnicity sit cheek by jowl. The curries are really hot and the market is fabulous (more authentic and less boutiquey than the Queen Vic market in the center of the city). As for access to the city, driving around Melbourtne is pricey and a hassle; a five minute walk from the hotel is a station from which trains run inexpensively, regularly and best of all on-time. Very modern and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was very impressive with a super powerful shower. The only thing I didn't like was that the room was a bit on the cozy side. We got a room with two single beds, and it was really like one queen bed with a 25 cm slice taken out of the centre. Also, the TV was a bit of on the small […] size. But it was still comfortable, and for the price, I'd definitely stay here again. As far as amenities go, in-room internet is included and there's a little computer bay that guests can use, which was very handy for me. Apparently there's also a complimentary hot breakfast between 7 and 10, but we like our sleep, so didn't get to see that.
