Great family own hotel, 150 yards from the beach-sea, 15 ins walk to the Old Town, 15 mins - to the bus stop to Lindos. Owners are great people, take a good care of their guests. Bus ride from the airport - 25-30 mins toward city center, and hotel is 50 yards from the bus stop.

Initially I found that booking with hotels.com was much cheaper than the Euro rate offered on the Mitsis Grand Hotel website. When we arrived at the Rhodes airport, the taxi driver told us that the Mitsis is the best hotel in Rhodes. Best to share a cab; 4 people will pay 5 euros each. The public bus is 3 euros and a real problem because it stops at every block on the way to the hotel and doesn't keep a regular schedule. The location is amazing with the beach right in front of the hotel. The hotel staff was nice and friendly, although with the number of guests checking in and out every hour, plus the 12 hrs shifts they work, I can see why other guests thought the staff were not as cordial. By U.S. standards, this is more of a 4* than 5*. The hotel was constructed in 1962, so yes, it isn't as clean and luxurious as a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. I would say it compares to your local Holiday Inn or Marriott. The room was spacious and they split our beds upon request (they usually stick 2 twins together). There was plenty of room to spread out our belongings and we had a beautiful balcony looking out directly to the ocean. The pool was overcrowded with families, so we never spent time there. Also, you must pay to use the gym. The towel policy was a bit bizarre, requiring a 15 euro deposit. When we went to pay for our towel, the cashier said the register would be closed for 1.5 hrs. We walked around and bought beach towels for 4 euros to save time. The breakfast buffet is amazing, delicious and fresh, plus you can get eggs and crepes made-to-order on the spot. The hotel is very safe, they offered storage during the morning of our checkout since we had a midnight ferry to Santorini and it made no sense paying for an additional night. Overall our stay was positive, the location could not get any better, right on the beach and about 20 mins walking east to Old town. Very nice staff, Clean and quiet. Great place for a rest. We were on a half-board plan which I don't recommend. The only fault in an otherwise excellent experience, was the bad quality of the food served at the hotel.

Situated on the beach, Golmar Beach Hotel is in Icmeler and area attractions include Marmaris Castle and Marmaris Museum.

upon reviews of this hotel, we determined it was be fine for just a 2 night stay - wrong. the place was a dump. the hotel itself needs to be updated, the rooms were pitiful. the only nice part of the rooms was the bathrooms but even still i wore scandals in the shower. the beach/pool areas were nice. the breakfast buffet was't even remotely good. this […] was not an American 3 star hotel, maybe it's acceptable to Brits, but it wasn't for Americans Read more
"Excellent Value"
Stayed at the Golmar Beach end of September 2011 for 12 nights. We had a very spacious room of the 6th floor with panoramic views across the whole bay. One slight drawback with the 6th floor is the lift only goes to the 5th. But the room was in good condition and was kept spotlessly clean, with the towels changed daily. It was also lovely and quiet […] both in the daytime and at night which I find essential. Only had to keep the airconditioning on for a few nights but it worked very well. The hotel is perfectly placed being a short walk to all the bars and restaurants. Only stayed b&b so can't comment on the food. All in all I was very pleased with this hotel and found it excellent value for money. Read more
"Perfekt beliggenhet"
Jeg har valgt dette hotellet 2 ganger nå og vil velge det igjen. Mest pga beliggenheten. Det ligger helt i begynnelsen av strandpromenaden, helt ned til privat strand og endeholdeplass for bussene. Det er så praktisk og lettvint. Alle rommene har fin utsikt utover sjøen. Det er enkelt at man kan spise alle måltidene på hotellet hvis man ønsker det, […] til en rimelig pris. Matsalen er helt grei og enkel og terrassen som er i tilknytting er veldig koselig med utsikt over bukten og havet. Markedet/butikken er i ferd med å bygge seg litt opp, men kunne godt ha et bedre utvalg. Personalet er veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Rommene er noe slitt, og med vegg til vegg tepper. Treningsrommet og resepsjonen til spa-avdelingen er dårlig. Man får heller ikke lyst til å ta masarsje der fordi det er ikke særlig delikat og innbydende. I motsetning til lokalene som blir brukt til hammam. Der er det fint. Det er satt opp en stor badesklie i hagen som er veldig skjemmende for hagen og bassengområdet. Man må vei opp mot hverandre hva man vil ha og hva som ikke er så nøye. Prisen er jo også fordelaktig, så jeg tenker at man får det man betaler for, og for meg betyr som sakt beliggenheten og utsikten veldig mye. Jeg vil gjerne anbefale hotellet. Read more
