Very nice room for the price we paid. Room was spacious and kitchennette is a plus! Close to all major places that we wanted to go: 5th avenue, Juarez avenue, Walmart, ADO station, colectivo station, good restaurants. Had a great time!

Situated on a Xpu-Ha beach, this family-friendly all-inclusive property is close to Xpu-ha Beach and Dolphin Discovery.
Property Features.
At this all-inclusive property meals and beverages at on-site restaurants and bars, taxes, and gratuities are included in room rates. Recreational activities and entertainment may also be included. There may be charges for dining at some restaurants, special dinners and dishes, some beverages, and other amenities.
Barcelo Maya Tropical Beach All Inclusive has tennis courts, an outdoor pool, a steam room, a sauna, a fitness facility, and direct access to the beach. The onsite spa at this 3.5-star property offers facial treatments, body treatments, and beauty services. Business amenities include a business center, wireless Internet access (surcharge), meeting rooms for small groups, and audio-visual equipment. Barcelo Maya Tropical Beach All Inclusive has a restaurant, a bar/lounge, and a poolside bar. 24-hour room service is available. Event space measuring 9999 square feet consists of a ballroom, exhibit space, conference rooms, and banquet facilities. The property may provide extended parking privileges to guests after check-out (surcharge). The property has designated areas for smoking (fines may apply for smoking in non-smoking areas).

The Barceló Maya Tropical Beach All Inclusive and its companion resort, the Barcelo Maya Colonia All Inclusive, have direct beach access and share three outdoor pools, one with a swim-up bar, and all with spa tubs. A children's pool includes a slide. Ages 4–12 also have use of a kids club with scheduled activities, arts and crafts, and contests.
Extensive on-site recreational opportunities include tennis on seven lighted courts, basketball on two lighted courts, 18-hole miniature golf, beach volleyball, and archery. Windsurfers, aqua bikes, pedal boats, and kayaks are among the included water sports. Guests also have access to saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness center with treadmills, stationary bikes, strength-training machines, and free weights. Personal watercraft, bicycles, scuba diving, horse riding, and organized excursions are available for additional surcharges.
Designed by Robert Von Hagge, the 18-hole Playacar Golf Club is 21 km (23 mi) from the resort, and is open to the public (surcharge).

Just south of Puerto Aventuras, Xpu-Ha’s broad, powdery, white-sand beach is widely regarded among the peninsula’s most beautiful. There’s plenty of room to string up a hammock and relax, sunbathe, or swim in the surf.

The hotel has a very similar look and feel to most of the larger nice resorts in the area. Tikki hut bars, huge beautiful pools and architecture, night shows, etc. The issues were what they lacked in comparison. The service and staff were not friendly or helpful - in fact at times simply rude. Attempting to sign up for some of the free water activities […] was an absolute nightmare. The food was at best mediocre. The beach although very pretty is very rocky. If you are looking for privacy outside the hotel district I think there are closer places as the airport drive is a bit annoying. But all of that would not have stuck out in my mind had the service been good. I had a great time in a group but if I had gone with my family (been to many great resorts in the area) I don't know that I would have. Read more

"everything was perfect!!"
Being there was 6 of us and never going here was a lil nerve racking. everything that could have gone wrong went perfect. My husband and I traveled with our 4 children 11,19,20,ans 21. We all had a blast. There is plenty for everyone. The hotel is just like the picts. on line. The food is fine unless your really fussy. The beach is beautiful. Just go […] and enjoy!!! "Barcelo Maya- too many tricks for ala carte"
Loved everything but the Hotel nuissance rules on making dinner reservations and receiving the premium drinks we paid for. Had to jump through hoops and check back with concierge daily to make dinner reservations at their ala carte restaurants. If ordering premium drink had to wait for bartender to fill out slip to sign for getting a premium drink.

The hotel and beach are beautiful. Have access to 4 out of 5 resorts. 4 buffets, 4 girlls, 3 swim up bars and 12 different a la carte resturants. There is a lot to see, eat and do on the resort.

Ottima struttura , buono il servizio , struttura all inclusive all'altezza delle aspettative. Consiglio vivamente di scegliere il Tropical , in quanto piu' nuovo e meno affollato. Purtroppo wifi solo a pagamento e troppi italiani. Camere pulite ma molto umide. Posizione un po decentrata , circa 20 minuti di taxi da Playa e 1 ora e 20 da Cancun

Me parece estupendo el complejo, lástima que todas las sabanas y edredones huelan a humedad, las toallas de los baños esten sucias y las de las albercas ya muy gastadas. Por ahi algun mesero malhumorado y poco servicial.
