We enjoyed taking a boat to the Magic Kingdom. Extra magic hours are a plus with Disney Resorts. The rooms are comfortable with extra Disney design touches. It had a lodge feeling like Montana yet you were minutes away from Disneyworld!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect hotel for cub scouts!"
This is a great hotel to bring my little boys. They loved the decor and traveling around to find hidden goodies like the fossils! They can't wait to go back and find more fossils up the fireplace. Thank you for your creativity. My boys really enjoyed the geyser as well. Everything was amazing. "Great Place to Stay"
When we checked in their was some mix-up with our room request, but the staff quickly made the necessary changes. The resort is beautiful, the service was great, and the transportation to the parks was a great convenience. We had a wonderful stay and would go back again without reservation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
If you want to experience Disney Magic this is the hotel to stay. We loved it. The best part was that we used the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom several times and it was flawless. We did not wait more than 5 minutes. We had a very bad experience, wait time, with the buses and we decided to drive when going to other parks other than the MK. The boat […] only goes to the MK. Parking was included to all parks since we stayed at this hotel and the drives were about 10 minutes. I recommend it. Thank you! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Third time at wilderness lodge"
Overall, this hotel is a magical place to stay inside of disney. The boat transportation is fun and convenient, and hotel is close to magic kingdom. Lobby and grounds are spectacular. Theming is authentic and impressive. Housekeeping isn't as in tune as they were in the past. Same for Whispering Canyon - wait staff not as entertaining as in the past. "Nice hotel and room, Exceptional Staff"
The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptional. We were there at a very busy time of year and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us every way they could. This was our second visit and we will definitely stay at the Wilderness Lodge again! Great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Rather disappointing stay"
We wanted to like the place, however, the room was way too small and the bathroom was also small, for a hotel with a huge price tag per night. The towels are too old. The food is way too expensive. The staff was great, which is the only thing we liked it there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Over Disney experience - very good"
If you look at the room in isolation it is probably a overpriced money trap. But if you consider the convo emcee to the parks, the decor of the lobby area and the kindness of the staff you can overlook most of its minor blemishes.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great spot for families and adventure."
We did not want to leave but it was more expensive. Best if you are actually going to enjoy the property and not just go to the parks the whole day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for families going to Magic Kingdom"
Beautiful hotel, nice helpful staff. Kind of pricey but it is Disney... Christmas decorations were perfect. I would stay here again..Genuine Expedia guest review
"A worthy destination even if it were not so close"
We chose the Winderness Lodge because it is so close to Disney World, a short boat ride which was an adventure itself. For my grandson's first visit to Disney it was a wonderful experience, the hotel more than Disney itself. We spent one day at the Park and the next relaxing by the pool. The staff was very supportive of our stay after check-out and […] we enjoyed a pool party in the afternoon. My daughter and I loved the northwest decor, particularly appealing at Christmas time. The Lodge is expensive but not as pricey as the Polynesian, where we have stayed before, and the Contemporary Resort, both on the monorail. But for a city kid, the boat ride was more exciting. "Great Deluxe Resort"
Very pleased with the whole resort. A little remote and on the quiet side which was refreshing considering how close it is to the Contemporary. Great staff and very well maintained as well. If we go again and stay in a deluxe resort it will be this one again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fabulous place for our 40th anniversary trip!"
Wilderness Lodge is now my favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World - lovely, understated or "casual" elegance, great to simply ride a boat to Magic Kingdom or Ft. Wilderness (walking around to see the amazing Christmas decorations on people's individual RV's and campers was great fun), and a bus to the other parks. The Artiste Pointe restaurant […] was exceptional - the best of the best of the wonderful restaurants in and around Disney - delicious food with marvelous tastes, beautifully presented. Waterfront is great too - we spent a relaxing afternoon on the lake shore on the white sand beach. Very nice rooms and amenities. The hotel even gave us an upgrade (and our hotels.com rate was lower than the hotel advertised). We also liked the fact that we could have canceled up to 5 days prior to arrival (so glad we didn't have to!) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Left without staying one night."
We were sent to probably the worst room the hotel could offer us. It was located on the first floor with absolutely no view. The only way to get to the room was a city block walk to a nearly hidden elevator as far away from the lobby as possible. The room was obviously a handicap room with a roll-in shower. We are not handicap. We ended up demanding […] that they move us to a more suitable room which they could only achieve by moving us to the Disneyland Contemporary Resort Hotel which they did. It was not as if we booked the hotel at the last minute, we booked it in August for a December stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We were looking into places to stay for a trip to WDW (Walt Disney World) with friends. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel staff and the lodge. The rooms were very comfortable and the kids had a blast in both the kiddie pool and main pool with the slide. "Loves the boat ride to Magic Kingdom!"
We loved the hotel and close to other hotels, monorail and the ferry!Genuine Expedia guest review
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort with hotel rooms that remind me more of a Marriott or Hyatt than a Disney Resort. However, the main areas are very Disneyesque and the pool is quite nice. It is close to Magic Kingdom. Transportation to MK is by boat while all other places are by bus. "Great Disney Hotel"
My son, husband and myself stayed at the Wilderness Lodge on 10/16-10/20. The hotel was perfect for our needs. The hotel was beautiful, quiet and clean. The staff very accommodating. There are three places to eat onsite, but we were in the parks all day, we mainly grabbed breakfast and a quick bite at night at the Roaring Fork. Ate once at the Whispering […] Canyon, wasn't a fan of the food or atmosphere. The ketchup thing is fun once, and the waiters threw menus, napkins, and straws on the table. I know that it is suppose to be an act, but it comes off as being rude and indifferent. Boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom was convenient and fast. We went to Universal Studios one day and the concierge helped booked Mears shuttle service to the park. We were picked up right outside the hotel. We had a courtyard view, one night we were able to see the fireworks from the park. I was worried that the room would be loud because we were facing the courtyard, but our room was nice and quiet. The grounds are beautiful and the geyser goes off every hour. My son loved the pool slide. We would definitely return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, very noisy."
Room very noisy and air conditioning did not work well. Not sure if we were next to a main water pipe, but the sound of water flowing never ended. The boat taking people to other parts of Disney started about 6:30am and the horn blowing that early was not pleasant. Very convenient bus servise to these parks and other points of interest.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel BUT"
This has the potential to be a really excellent hotel and the staff are really friendly, but there we soo many new trainees every where that misinformation abounded, we were on a tight schedule and this was not appreciated , if you are not sure about something don't make stuff up.....I reserved a room needing a bunk bed or a daybed they were sold out […] and only had an aero mattress, this was ok but it leaked and the 2 queen size beds were hard and sagged in the middle....We decided to have breakfast in the Canyon Café on the last day before leaving and the food quality is very good BUT, when you select the "family style option" the wait between seconds was way too long again because there were too many new people..... "Secluded, perhaps too much, but still great."
It's a great place for families, due to the overall theme, atmosphere and general size of the place. It's just as good for a group of friends as well, but as is the case with most Disney properties, it will get overrun by children with lackadaisical parents who condone the behavior, causing somewhat of a nuisance from time to time, but that's no fault […] of the property itself. Pool area is spacious, beautiful and nice, restaurants inside the resort are good quality. Staff was helpful and accessible. The walls of the hotel are somewhat thin on all accounts, and neighbors with screaming kids can be heard a little too easy. Resort has shuttles to all Disney properties and a direct boat to Magic Kingdom that all come in very handy. But due to the secluded nature of the resort, it's kind of time consuming, but still better than driving yourself and paying for parking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Lobby but Room are Lackluster"
The fact that every Disney hotel I've ever stayed in continues it's theme of great lobby and landscaping, but disappointing rooms. I'm not sure why Disney can feel that they can charge the same about as a high-end luxury hotel, but without delivering the luxury. With the amount of the room that I paid, I was expecting a high-end room, however, what […] I got was a typical Hampton Inn experience at best. There is nothing fancy about this hotel--only a pretty cool looking lobby that spans 7-stories high with some decent wood themed accents. Other than that, it ends there. The food was lacking. The pool seemed okay, however, a little small for this size of hotel. It was situated on the lake, so that worked well for taking the boat to the parks. However, the bus service is in need of a serious overhaul. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Query by double charge"
I request you to please clarify me the following situation. On July 13 I paid through my credit card EXPEDIA the sum of U.S. $ 451.28 per stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Lake Buena Vista for two nights for the days 22 and 23 September 2013. Well, when I checked my statement credit cards I meet a charge of U.S. $ 391.92 for my stay at the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Typical Disney Out Dated Family Hotel"
The room and hotel itself are extremely out dated and the front desk staff is under trained. I booked my room for a King and upon arriving they decided to give me 2 queens. I asked to be switched to a King and they told me they are sold out. To top it off they decided to place my room right next to the children's pool, did they not notice it was just […] me and my girlfriend? I requested if they could move me somewhere quieter, again denied. Upon entering the room I had to walk down a hallway that looked like something out of the 60's, dark and dingy. The room itself more then likely hasn't been updated in 30+ years, with the exception of the 32" LCD TV. The bathroom was tiny and the tub maybe could hold 5 gallons of water at best. They replaced our shower curtain I'm guessing because that bathroom stunk of a very strong new plastic. Honestly I couldn't even stand being in the bathroom for to long or else I'd get a headache. The only good thing about the bathroom was the sea salt soap bar, smelt amazing and made my skin feel silky smooth. Other then that the bathroom was at best a 3, right above a camp ground bathroom. Only shining star about this hotel was the amazing lobby and the restaurants. The restaurant is definitely a hot spot you must try, very unique concept. I wish tho they would spend less time on the lobby and more time on the rooms, has potential to be 4 stars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Our experience at this resort was positive. The staff was very friendly. Our room was roomy and clean. It had a refrigerator, which came in very handy. "Great Hotel and Value"
This was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. Wilderness Lodge is conveniently located within a 10 minute boat ride of Magic Kingdom. Which was very convenient for having to return to the hotels with a 17 month old for naps. We did not miss not having the monorail. We took the monorail from magic kingdom to the Polynesian the one day for lunch […] and actually thought it took longer than the boat. The hotel staff took care of everything and had great recommendations for food. We went to Whispering Canyon the one night for dinner. Food was fabulous and it was entertaining without having to pay the high price for character dining or a dinner show. We plan on staying here again for sure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for young and old"
My favorite Disney hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed at several of the Disney properties. We chose the wilderness lodge this time because many friends love it. Mention of the boat that takes you directly to magic kingdom was almost always included in this rave review. I was a little disappointed. To me, this resort felt like a moderate resort. Aside from the fast and direct transportation […] to magic kingdom via the boat, the bus ride to other locations is slow/far depending on where you are going. This hotel shares bus service with Fort Wilderness. This can add a lot of time to your trip. The atmosphere does feel like a lodge in a national park, but the amenities are somewhat poor. The gift shop is very small and is lacking much related to theme like other gift shops (e.g. c Animal kingdom lodge with comes fun items related to Africa, African culture, and animals. the quick service restaurant is ridiculously small and boring in decor and food!! pool is fun, but small. Rooms are small. Bunk beds are unique and fun, and enable more floor space. Parking is very convenient, which we always use since we drive to Disney. Overall, I would not stay here again, but am glad to have experienced another theme. If I could do over, I would have stayed at a different property, though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for families, maybe not for couples"
I stayed at this hotel twice before (1998, 2004) when I was 12 and 18 years old traveling with my parents. This time I'm 27 and took my significant other to Disney and wanted to stay on grounds. This place is still great fun, complete with beautiful lobby and convenient park access, but seems a little less magical than I remember. The poolside bar shuts […] down at 6:00, which is incredibly early. The rooms seem to have fewer "Disney" charms than I recall too. Wake-up call was no longer a Mickey recording.
