I was very happy with the All Star Music hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to say I was definitely pleased. The staff at check in were so nice and helpful. There should be a sign, however, indicating that people shouldn't bring their bags into the lobby since you just have to turn around, get back in your car, and drive to the appropriate […] building. Of all the Disney hotels we've stayed at, this one was our least favorite. We had high hopes for it, and it only gets bonus points for BEING Disney, which is a huge plus for us. However, the room was very dirty. The carpet was dirty, and there was razor cover laying on the floor. It was also the worst color/decor of any of the other value resort rooms […] we've stayed in. We were stuck in the furthest building from anywhere, on the back side, which faced woods. This wouldn't have been a big deal, except they had the parking lot blocked off for that area, so we had to park a building away and hike with all our luggage. We stayed at another Disney resort in November of last year and it was a $100 more than the Disney All Star Music. We were very happy with Disney All Star Music. The GOOD: This was an economy hotel- think tarted up dormitory. It was fine for our purposes. The bathroom was just big enough to get your business done, the beds were fine. Don't look for luxury here. The BAD: we arrived at about 11PM with just one or two other parties, yet check in took over half an hour. The employee in our line was terribly slow […] and spent about ten minutes or more cooing at the baby in the party before us. I understand bantering with guests and doing your best to make everyone feel at home... but everyone in that line- including the party with the baby- was wilting with fatigue, shifting from foot to foot, and dying to get to bed. There was also some confusion over the Magic bracelets and how to link everything through My Disney Experience. The process was not straightforward, because - it turned out after several unsuccessful tries- that if you'd already signed up to receive emails through the regular Disney World website you were unable to sign up for My Disney Experience using the same email address- they treat them as separate services- which makes no sense to me AT ALL. Everything should dovetail, don't you think? The concierge people were trying to be helpful, saying "just use a different email." No thanks. We were very disappointed with the size of our room at the ridiculous price we paid. We left our time-share resort early to give the kids a "cool experience" at a Disney Resort and were very very disappointed. Our children wanted to move back to our other resort. The place is very nice, the two pools are wonderful, staff very nice. My opinion is to buy the meal plan for the on site restaurant if you want to eat there. The food selection is very good but by the time you get thru the lines to pay, with all the wristband questions ie...cash, credit, using meals or snacks, your food is very cold. Loved that you have free shuttle service to all the parks but found it very confusing that you have to check in at the gate (show license and ID) when anyone can get on a bus from any of the parks and just enter the resort without showing ID of any kind. We stayed at the All Star Music resort for our honeymoon. It wasn't the most romantic place, but for a Disney hotel with access to all the parks by shuttle, we definitely had a great experience. We had a good experience overall. The hotel does not have a variety of breakfast/lunch/dinner and its kind of expensive for what they give you. Long walk to the room. The rooms are clean and nice. The pool areas are beautiful and are open late. When we booked at Expedia we asked for 3 bedrooms, one with two double beds smoking, one with one king bed […] also smoking and the other one with one king bed non smoking. They gave us 3 bedrooms with double beds non smoking, they don't have smoking rooms, only a few areas a little far... All three bedrooms where under one name so they though it has doubled the information even though I called to confirm the information two days before our arrival. The only wrist band that had the name was mine, because all rooms where under my name. We tried to rent a car from the hotel and the guy at the counter told us that we had to pick the shuttle bus at Magic Kingdom at 9:am, so we went to Magic Kingdom and when we got there, there was no shuttle so we called Alamo and they said that they bring the shuttle over the hotel NOT at MK. So we cancelled the car rental for that day, next day the shuttle was at the hotel waiting for only one of us and we where supposed to be 3. No luck with the car, so we decided to pay for a taxi to take us to Universal Studios, we only paid $40 each way. I would recommend the All-Star resorts to anyone who just wants a nice hotel stay on Disney property. The two pools are heated and fabulous. The large cafeteria serves amazing food all day long, up […] until midnight. I had the Beef and Blue Focaccia three times from there, with the house-made potato chips. We got the quick-service meal plan, 2 a day plus 1 snack. It's very convenient, but it might be better for your health if you just buy what you want with cash/debit. The quick service meals can be huge. My wife and I split meals, and would have ended up with unused plan meals had we not bought a few dinners for friends. Hmm, also the Disney bus service can be super-busy with the All-Star resorts. If you try to get a bus at a "rush hour" (such as park closing time), you might be astonished by how long the lines are for a bus back to the All-Star resorts.
