"Great stay for families"
The resort feels like you are no longer in florida, with the exception that you are a 5 minute boat ride to the main entrance of the Magic Kingdom. The kids loved the marshmallow roast and sing a long with chip and Dale. They also thought driving in a golf cart was a lot of fun, and I would highly recommend getting one because the resort is expansive. […] The cabins were a perfect size and were very clean. "Great place to stay!"
The cabins are perfect if you love privacy and nature. Very quiet. The bus service is excellent. Pool was very clean. Staying here was like getting two vacations in one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Kitchen was FILTHY, pot holders had food encrusted, plates were dusty when I pulled them out of the cupboard, utensil holder in drawer was dirty, the side of the refridgerator was rusted and the bottom of the dishwasher was rusted. One of the cupboards had plywood (unpainted) as the top that could be seen from the inside. The bathroom had an inch of […] dust around the top of the shower backsplash, the corners of the bathroom floor had dirt and the bathroom mirror frame was covered in dust. Very dark, they need to install higher wattage bulbs in the lighting. I realize this is not a deluxe resort, however we did expect it to be clean. Very nice hotel, I didn't like the bed and the sheets, they were really old and cheap. Didn't like also that you have to get two buses to go to the parks, specially when you have children with stroller. Everything else was really nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great getaway for any one loving the outdoors"
Our Disney Fort Wilderness Cabins were wonderful. The looks, the rustic decor, a fully equipped kitchen. The pictures on the website are exactally like the actual Cabin. The beds were very comfortable and suited our family. We took our Grandchildren who are 5 & 7 for their Christmas gift for this year. The campground was decorated for the holidays and […] many families staying there decorated their space also. Our experience start to finish was awesome to say the least and the transportation within the campground was perfect. We would highly recommend it for a wonderful family fun filled time to be together. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great hotel to have fun with the family. I wouldn't recommend more than one family to a room due to only one bathroom.Great staff and close to all Disney activities.Genuine Expedia guest review

loved the cabins, and the service - great for families who want to get away from the amusement park atmosphere and it's food prices by getting and grilling your own food.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spacious family experience"
This is a great way to see Disney. So much to do but a full service cabin in the "woods". Much better than camping for my taste. No bugs. Not so wilderness but you can park your car next to the cabin. Bring allergy medicine as cabin is a little older with carpets.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Camping Disney style"
Staying at Fort Wilderness was awesome! We were on a family reunion and rented 8 cabins. There was so many things to do! Bike, canoes and boat rentals is a must. We rented a golf cart to move around the campground. The pools were great and the activities such as campfire were super entertaining for the kids. The best thing is we had the disney magic […] hours to get in early to the parks. We could visit other Disney hotels and eat in their restaurants, it was like having two vacations at once. It was even comfortable or our one year old. We will definitely return to this resort. If you like the woods, camping and the outdoors we recommend this hotel. "Fort Wilderness Cabins Great - Maid Service Not!!"
Stayed at Fort Wilderness with my two daughters for our annual visit to the Epcot Wine and Food Festival! We've been staying there for 15+ years and LOVE the convenience and casual atmosphere of Fort Wilderness ... we always have the best time just hanging out on the property and appreciate the easy access to Monorail and Magic Kingdom via boat launch! […] This year, for the first time, we had difficulties with Maid Service. Of the five nights we stayed, the room was actually only fully serviced twice. The other days, Staff arrived to clean the cabin after 2 PM, when we were back for a break, and we simply took fresh towels and coffee supplies rather than disrupt our down time by moving out to allow cleaning! Not sure what the problem was, but I hope it was just a one-time glitch! Very annoying!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wooded seclusion in Disney World"
We stayed in a cabin for a week, and visited the theme parks and Typhoon Lagoon. The cabin is very roomy (one bedroom with double + 2 twin bunks, full kitchen, living room with pull-down bed). Hollywood studios was having a special star wars weekend. The cabins feel so peaceful in the woods- a big contrast to the theme parks. Some people rent golf carts […] but is it a lot cheaper to rent a car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

A great place for the kids to enjoy a bit of "wilderness" while still having home comforts. This is Disney, so service and help throughout the stay is exceptionally good! Very clean and very good service. We were surprise how bus service are very fast. Very convenient. We were able to come back for a lunch and to cool off the afternoon heat from Disney Hollywood and back again in the afternoon to enjoy the rest of the afternoon until late night to see Fantasmic! "I miss my Mickey ice cream sandwich already!!"
For a Disney visit this is the best place for a Family of 6 to stay, The cabin has a pull down murphy bed, a bunk bed and a double. Fully equipped kitchen w/ dishwasher. Maid service is daily with tons of soap, shampoo and loads of towels, coffee packets everyday as well. The cabins are starting to show their age though, peeling melamine, worn deck out […] front and some other items but nothing dangerous yet( pay attention Disney and spend some $$ on upkeep). I think this makes it difficult for the maid staff to really give a super cleaning to the room as well. Pools are great, lots of pool activities, other programs have a cost (check their website). General store has w wide assortment of souveniers, food items etc. All in all a very nice visit, cheaper to book through expedia by the way if you are only taking the room(cabin) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great cabin accommodation"
We had a fantastic time, the cabins are spacious and well equipped and it is great to have 2 rooms when travelling with little ones. It was brilliant being a 10 minute boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, and getting around the resort was easy (we walked or used the buses).
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place but disapointing stay this time around."

I rented two cabins this time as we had all my grande children joing me this time. I wanted all to enjoy naturend Disney. I am a twice cancer survivor and thistrip was very special as I was due for another scan on april 4th. We checked in and was informed there we no golf carts.we Never had this happens before and with one lung it was going go to be difficult to get us all around. When I called the next Day I was told to take a bus. not a good options when I can breath well with one lung. Finally got to one after error twos days of not going any where. We were woken up with workers on the cabin bbehnd us at 6am On thrusday web were coming on the ferry as it was going to rain, we we're on the ferry with th kids and the rain started and they to took us out in the pouring rain to take a bus.. Wet and cold we waitied 40 minutes for a bus.. I know bad weather happens but a plan should be in place or be informed of what to do. Our bands did not work several times first to t time not programmed correctly and e second time the battery was old. I love thse cabins but not sure we will return on our next trip in June.
"Cheap Way to Do Disney - BRING BIKES"
03/25/15 hrmason123 Rockledge, Florida
Although the campsites are pricey when compared with more traditional campgrounds, Disney makes up for it in cleanliness and extra amenities. The pool has an amazing water slide, and the camp stores are expensive but well stocked. They have a nightly campfire and movie. You can bring your own marshmallows or purchase a 'smores kit from them for $10. We bought the kit and it was plenty for four kids. Although you can't swim in the lake, the beach front is a nice area for the kids to play. Throughout the day, there are plenty of free activities to do with the kids, or you can just hangout at the site and relax. Don't miss seeing the horse stables, though. Bring bikes! The grounds are too spread out to walk, but are easy enough to bike. We tent camped. You are allowed to have up to 10 people in a campsite, but the sites are small. We had two large tents and one pup tent and they barely fit. We had to loosen the flies since we didn't' have enough room to secure it. There are no fires, either. However, the sites are extremely clean and the bathrooms look like they belong in a hotel room. There is no wi-fi in the camping areas, but there is a bar if you can't miss the game, and you can catch wi-fi in the main areas of the grounds.

We stayed in one of the "premier" sites. Expensive for a campsite but absolutely worth every penny. Make sure you research everything. There are so many fun things to do and you have to find out yourself, they don't give you any information at check-in. The bus service was exceptional. We didn't use the bathrooms very often but they were clean when we did. Hoop-de-doo Revue was fun. LOTS of family activities. This was an unforgettable vacation.

We hadn't camped in years, so we don't have comparisons readily available. Our experience was outstanding. The loop we were on (800) was impeccably clean including the comfort station and laundry room. Sitting at our site we observed all kinds of wildlife from deer to turkeys. Our dog was especially interested in the armadillo that visited us early one morning. Other than using my car to take the dog to the day care located just outside the campground, we used Disney transportation to get to all the venues. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes. The convenience of not driving was well worth the short time waiting. All in all we enjoyed Fort Wilderness very much and plan to return soon.
"Would Walt Disney Approve?"
The restroom facilities are not well maintained. There was observed cross contamination of cleaning equipment. Auto flush did not work. Comfort stations did not accommodate the number of people who have to use it. Disney World needs to hire and train better. The comfort stations were not up to Disney standards.

A large campground. . sites are back in. . and ours in 1900 loop is layed out inconveniently. ..we brought our bikes which was fine but a cart would be easier. .the transportation around the Disney properties is awesome. . . the pool is nice with a slide. . .they have stuff going all day to engage the kids. .
"Great stay but....."
It was our first family motor home trip. My family enjoyed the golf cart rental, the small boat rental, the horseback riding and the evening campfire and movie. The only things that I could say negative about our 9 day stay is that WiFi is only available in public areas, unless you bring a computer that is compatible to connect to a certain cable which they do provide at no cost. We only brought our iPhones, so we couldn't get WiFi sitting at the motor home. Second thing I didn't like was there "Fake" recycling stations. There was a bin for garbage and a secondary station with 4 different sections for recycling. Each spot was labelled as to what was supposed to go in each section - aluminum, glass, plastic and newspapers. There was milk crates in which to put your articles and just a shelf for the paper. We watched the Disney staffer, on more than one occasion, empty the milk crates into black garbage bags and then place them with the real garbage bags, on the back of his golf cart. I also saw the Disney staff put black garbage bags into the bins that are just for cans and bottles. That means that they don't really recycle....it just goes in the black bags with all the other garbage. Shame on you Disney:(. If your not going to recycle, then you shouldn't act like you are. We did enjoy our stay and will go back but I won't take the time to sort out my recycling.
"Exceeded my expectations "

We are new to rv camping having owned our RV for about 8 months but we are experienced disney travelers having been 7 times in the past 5 years. We have stayed at several of the premium resorts on property. None compare to the campground resort for access to activities for families and kids. I would venture to say that our family would have been content just staying at the campground without ever going to any of the amusement parks. Perhaps we would have been happier, and more relaxed had we never set foot in the venerable Magic Kingdom. No other resort on property offers 2 buffet dinner shows, an additional buffet restaurant and a quick serve spot, an included campfire sing along, canoeing, fishing, motor boating, bike trials, horseback and pony rides, archery lessons, even a dog park and more! Not to mention the usual pools, tennis courts, and multiple playgrounds. The campsites were large, level and clean with plenty of shade trees. All sites are back-in no pull through are sites are available. The resort itself is enormous we highly recommend brining bikes, a golf cart or renting a golf cart (call to reserve ahead of time) to get around. We will be coming back!
"Cinderella would Not Approve of Bathroom Cleaning, but she would still Enjoy her Stay!"
03/13/15 Lindsay F Christiana, Tennessee
Overall, really enjoyed our stay in the campground/pop-up area. Here's a list of highlights: *Chip n' Dale Campfire sing along (our toddler was mesmerized) *Movie under the stars *Pool/playground area with sprinklers/water slides for different age groups *Bus transportation to the different Disney parks/ campgrounds made getting around convenient. *HOT water in the showers *Overall atmosphere relaxed and rustic. Things that need work: *Some of the cleaning staff were very unfriendly. (At Disney, I feel that all staff should be held to a higher standard than most and be welcoming and courteous.) *The bathrooms were only clean to the naked eye. ( One of the toilets overflowed one morning and one of the members of the cleaning staff simply swept the water down the drain and took a towel and smeared it around on the floor. She then used that same broom to sweep the rug in the entry way. Would love to have seen a mop come out with some Clorox water. Different areas of a bathroom should be cleaned with separate designated tools. It made me wonder if that same toilet water rag was getting smeared around in my shower... Or if the same rag used to clean the toilets was being used in shower walls.
