free wifi throughout the property would be a nice improvement if you are staying there. 30 mins free only in the lobby is kinda cheap. otherwise it is a nice property with a serene lake behind and vineyards in the the front.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Less than expected"
This hotel looks great on paper, but the service felt arrogant. I travel for business very frequently and all over the work, and I have never felt so uncomfortable sitting in a hotel restaurant by myself - I was treated like a second class customer, possibly because I spent less money than the group of retired gentlement on the table next to me. This […] might be a good hotel to visit for a romantic break, or as a group of friends, but it is not the best for single (business) travellers, in my opinion. In terms of cleanliness, quality of food, internet and spa - all was fine.

Bett, Bad, Sauna, ... alles völlig in Ordnung.

Rigtig tysk "Weinstrasse idyl"Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place. We loved the outdoor space & the fantastic breakfast!"
10/14/14 jag8386 Southern Calif.
We loved the outdoor space on the large pond with ducks and beautiful trees and lawn. Nice chaise loungers for relaxing with a glass of wine after a day of site seeing.Bike rentals on site were a plus and reasonable.Breakfast was very good with a large selection of options. We dined our first night off of the menu and our dinner was very good they also offer a buffet.Nice walk into town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. *The first room we were assigned was along side the rail road tracks. We asked to be moved and luckily they were able to accommodate us. I didn't hear the train at night after we moved. Had we not been able to move to a different room I am not sure I could have stayed.*
"A Run Down Hotel"

We had a great restaurant experience! a la carte - great fish! lovely service, very attentive. but the hotel is really run down, cleanliness is not of the hotel´s top priority. the garden, though in a gray setting, is not maintained at all, and the arrangement of the sun lounges reminds one on a furniture store rather than a hotel. the rooms/bath rooms/windows are not clean.

A hotel where you visit after a year and are greeted by the first name at reception has to touch a positive chord. The eighth outing to the hotel in as many years and one gets a feeling that it is going to be comfortable-like it is homecomimg. The location is excellent but only if you have transport and are visiting the wineries, although it ls 6-minuste walk from the train station. Rooms are quite comfortable-more so in the newer wing. Breakfast is quite exhaustive. I stayed in the old block this time and did feel that it is getting a bit run down. The sun rooms adjoining the restaurant and back lawns offer a very comfortable and serene spot. Service at the reception has always been excellent and this time was no different. Finally, the hotel has offered unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi even though it crawls. One is told that it is on experimental basis so one hopes it gets faster next year.
"very quiet hotel"
i stayed for 2 nights at this hotel during a business trip in the region. the room was big and comfortable and the restaurant offers a good choice for dinner (it is not so cheap though). wi-fi is not included and it costs a bit if you need it, but if you dont need to connect for long 30 mins are free. hotel personnel are very kind. in general a good stay at a reasonable price. there's a SPA too.

After a rough start to our trip to Germany, we landed in Dusseldorf and drove to the Steigenberger Deidesheim. It was a great drive however it was just turning dark as we pulled into the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with this typical German hotel. It has a great historical background. The property is in the middle of a vineyard which adds to the ambiance. Only problem we had was how to figure out opening the windows of Germany properties. Germans post that air conditioning is not necessary in summer. That may have been in the past but we sure roasted throughout the Black Forest and Bavaria! Excellent breakfast bar. The bartender was very accommodating to help us with our beer and wine selections. Restaurants in the area close early so make sure you eat before arrival!
"A Hotel that never changes"

My seventh annual trip to the hotel and it feels as if I was here yesterday! Nothing changes here-same ol location, excellent service, tolearable food and beautiful view of thevineyards outside. Breakfasts are excellent. Rooms are very comfortable and roomy enough. One earlier irritant of Internet on a chargeable basis has been removed with 30 minute free password provided liberally. One gets accustomed to this hotel-grows on you. Lovely walks all around and sitting outside when the weather is good is a great opportunity to relax.
"Overpriced, outdated, poor service - disappointing"
08/12/13 Newfoundlander709 Frankfurt
This hotel was a big disappointment. I found it very overpriced for what you get, and there is a real need for improvement if they want to be in the price bracket they pretend to occupy. If this was half the price, I would have found it okay. But it’s too rundown, the rooms are too old, the are too many add-ons that cost extra, and the staff do not make a positive enough impression for the prices they demand. The location is fine for Deidesheim, even if it is outside the main part of town. The grounds are very green, and they have loungers and beach chairs just off from the restaurant’s terrace, which are great for relaxing. And you’re just minutes away from the town. The kitchen seems to do a good job. The food at dinner was a positive surprise, and even though wait staff messed up a little, the kitchen staff were able to put together a good vegetarian dish in a pinch. The breakfast buffet was also good. A typical german hotel buffet breakfast, including (maybe) freshly squeezed (or at least premium container) Orange Juice. They also had scrambled eggs and bacon which was quite good for a buffet (not the powder eggs you sometimes get). But one thing that threatened to ruin the breakfast was the very poor quality coffee being served and the lack of table service for coffees and teas. For the price, I would expect the option to have a Latte or a Cappucino brought to the table instead of fighting through the crowds. Parking is okay - we never had trouble finding a spot and never had to use the €7 per night (!!) parking garage rip-off. For a hotel not located in an urban area, and considering the price of a room, charging for parking is really quite representative of how this hotel is simply out to gouge guests. Another great example is the WiFi charges. There were problems with the wait staff and desk staff. Some were fine, but overall they ranged from impersonal to rude (and I’m a fairly relaxed and easy-going guest if I have the feeling I’m being treated with respect). In a two-day stay there was just too many things that left a bad impression. Waiting too long at the bar after seeing the barkeeper take notice of us, messing up orders at dinner, and acting completely inappropriately and disrespectfuly to guests during breakfast – the waitress later appologised after realising she had made a mistake. I don’t know if the staff either lacked training or simply had given up trying to provide good service. Or maybe it was the uncomfortable heat or some other specific reason causing the poor service. Sadly, it was widespread at this Hotel. Another annoyance is the fact that if you’re unlucky, you can end up in a room previously occupied by guests with pets. Allergies can be a real problem for some when the room isn’t cleaned properly after pets being there. Again, I would have expected more from a hotel charging these prices. Having said that, I'm not yet retired and not traveling in a tour group, so we are not the target market for them and maybe because of this, they simply didn’t invest any energy in our having a pleasant stay. I can’t recommend this hotel.

We were in Deidisheim for a wedding and rooms at the hotel had been reserved for us by the family. We definitely appreciated their choice. The hotel sits in the middle of the wine making region of Pfalz, Germany. It is situated in the scenic rolling hills of vineyards, but it is only a 5-minute walk to the town center with its church, town square and whimsical goat fountain. The hotel rooms are big and comfortable and clean. The artwork is vintage film and wine memorabilia. The grounds are quiet and well maintained. It was a pleasure to sit out on the lawn chairs overlooking the duck pond reading a book and drinking the local wines! Service is exemplary; courteous and always available! On check-in there are pitchers and glasses of chilled sweet ice tea that were welcome after a long hot day of travel. One of the best discoveries is the hotel restaurant. Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. We were worried we'd have to walk into town and back again for meals. Except for the wedding events, we just stayed at the hotel and enjoyed its quiet comforts. The Sunday brunch was impressive. In fact, we felt we were staying at a great bar/restaurant with an attached spa/hotel. The hotel guests are a mix of upscale wine/food tourists and business people attending meetings at the hotel. Most arrive by car (parking is 7 Euros per night), but it is possible to arrive by train via Kaiserslautern and Neustadt and walk to the hotel from the Deidisheim train platform. You can rent bicycles for 8 Euros per day. Wifi costs 4.50 Euros per hour, but if you ask at the desk you can get 1/2 hour per person per day for free. The hotel is "dog-friendly" for 9 Euro's per night. Breakfasts are not included in the room price, but highly recommended. The only "cons" I could find were the expenses (it is a destination resort/business hotel), and there is no air conditioning. Each room does have a big ceiling fan and big windows that open which help. Still, for the service, food, location and condition of the hotel, I give it high marks and would certainly come back to this hotel again.
"Hotel that grows on you"

I have stayed at this hotel for the last 6 years, spending about 27 nights. It has almost become a second home when I travel to this part of Germany. Comfortable and clean hotel. Nothing much has changed since I started staying there. If the weather is nice, it is lovely to sit outside in the garden. The sunroom is lovely for morning breakfast. Staff is very friendly and helpful-especially at the Reception. Restaurant service can be mediocre when there are a lot of people but charming at dinner time. The right room can offer a nice view of the small vineyard. In short- 'I have got accustomed to its face'.
"good for business"

After a break I stayed once more in this hotel on the "Deutsche Weinstrasse". The Hotelservice was better than in past times. Check in and out quickly. Good local breakfast in the "Wintergarden". The rooms are a little bit dated and small but clean and for one night absolutly ok. In about ten minutes your are downtown ( without car!).
