Compared to last years visit around this time we were a bit disappointed in our dining experience. Firstly the variety and quality of the evening meal was not up to the same standard with a few of the dishes being left to over cook and dry up from being left too long in the serving area. This was especially true for a few fish dishes though meat and pasta and veg on occasion were the same. One night I had broccoli which was so dry it was crispy. Once at breakfast we were one of the last couples to leave and we witnessed trays of cold meats and cheeses being stacked on top of each other with nothing in between to stop the transfer of bacteria from the base of the trays to the food. They were then half wrapped in cling film before, I imagine, being placed in a cold store ready to be used again the next morning. Needless to say we didn't eat any more of the cold meats or cheeses. This was very disappointing from a hotel of this standard where the health and safety of the guests should be the number one priority! I would not return to the hotel and unfortunately I would not recommend the hotel either.

"Very Disappointing!"
We chose La Nina, due to it’s proximity to our favourite Adeje restaurants & bars & it’s seemingly competitive price. We should have known better & paid more elsewhere. Food on the All Inclusive was terrible. Poor selection, presentation & the quality of the food was low, with many items unrecognisable & unlabelled. There was a distinct lack of vegetables on offer with lunch & dinner, which was bad news for us as we were trying to at least enjoy the illusion of eating healthy. We’ve gone All Inclusive in many hotels across the world & have always been spoilt for food choice. Not so at La Nina. The only benefit was that we ate a lot less than we may have, putting on a few less holiday pounds. Bar selection was weak and we chose to go out an drink elsewhere. The hotel stated that it provided free Wifi in the reception, which is fair enough, but this was prohibitively slow (even for Spain) & kept cutting out. After kicking you out, you had to go back through the registration procedure again to get back online. This made even the simplest online tasks painfully slow or impossible. During our 5 nights, the Wifi was completely dead for 2-3 days. The nice reception staff said the problem with their service provider, who was looking into it, but I couldn’t help notice that their “Pay as you go” terminals were online all the time during this alleged outage. Co-incidence? As I need constant & reliable connection for business, I ended up paying to use their terminals all the time.

"Enjoyable stay."
We really enjoyed our stay here, just one hiccup. The hotel double booked our room on our first night, so we were sent to another hotel by taxi. The next day they offered us a free drinks upgrade & free spa entry for the week. I asked for a room upgrade & they gave us a Junior suite..... We were very pleased with the way they rectified their error. We checked a few other hotels whilst there & we feel that La Niña was far better than most. Already looking to go back next year.

"Very dissapointed"
Our first time at an all inclusive Hotel - we had to leave deposits for many items and also they were charging for coffees - drinks etc., - after 12 at night etc. Also the Hotel Staff were on strike for 2 days and they were protesting outside the Hotel from 7am in the morning!!! Definately would not recommend this Hotel.

"Never again!... This is a half decent 3 star hotel"
This is a half decent 3 star hotel but definitely not 4 star. NEGITIVE: There were no sun beds, as people had reserved them all with towels despite being told not to do so which meant we either had to go to the beach or sun bathe in bar chairs - very frustrating and not fun! We did question if the hotel may be in some sort of financial difficulty as everything was chargeable even though it was meant to be 'all inclusive' - for example, if you want a coffee its 1.50 Euros (E), cocktails available at an additional cost, to hire the remote for the TV or a beach towel you had to pay? Even to change your beach towels +E1 each?! A pool view +E4 per day, a sea view E10pn. Plus the bar stopped serving included drinks at 11pm so after that you had to pay for your drinks and there was no water in our room - this was never expressed when we booked the trip? But the worst thing was we went on holiday to relax but with 7.30am staff protests lasting the morning we had a rude awakening! Fog horns, whistles, people screaming and shouting into microphones was unacceptable?! We were on the 9th floor and it was as if they were in our room it was so loud! When we complained to reception they said there was nothing they could do to stop them - not helpful! Advice: If you do go make sure you print the hotel voucher before you arrive, we didn't know we had to and it was soooooo awkward at reception as they wouldn't let us check in until we had the vouchers. POSITIVE: Good location.

"Good clean hotel"
The food was a very low standard. The junior suite was very spacious and cleaned daily. I found it hard to believe that as a premium band holder I was still expected to pay for things like capachino. Lots of things are charged as extras in this hotel, so if you are running a tight budget this is not the hotel for you.

"Good family friendly hotel"
Just returned from a great holiday with my son and parents. The hotel was great. Nice and clean, good food selection most nights. Good entertainment for all ages each evening. It's really family friendly and my son met up with other boys of his age and they had a great time taking part in all the activities the hotel offered as well as this the hotel was safe enough for them to enjoy the games room without being supervised 110%. Good positioning of the hotel also being in the centre of lots of restaurants, bars, close to the marina and shops. Would I return? I think so!

I only stayed 3 nights, and found the location was excellent. Apart from one breakfast I did not use the inclusive facilities so can't really comment My room was very clean but a little tired. To operate the tv you have to pay a small deposit which is refunded upon departure Towels were changed daily and the bed was made up for you.

"Great location, Great Staff but Terrible Food."
We arrived at this hotel for our first visit with an open mind and not knowing what to really expect. It is in a really great central location and we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was very helpful and efficient and quickly despatched us to our room. we were given all the relevant details about our all inclusive package and equipment we needed ie pool towels, safe key, tv remote etc. On arriving at the room we found it to be adequate but absolutely spotless, the sea view we had paid for was not quite what we had expected mainly a street view with a side view of the sea but at least we could see it! Our room was cleaned daily to a really high standard. The pool area is very good but even better are the roof top solariums and this is where we spent most of our time when in the hotel. All the staff we encountered were great and really helpful. The big let downs of this hotel are (1) the food which at times was truly dreadful and often hot food is dangerously tepid or cold, (2) the gym equipment most of which does not work or is falling to bits and (3) the extremely limited choice of drinks in the all inclusive package. Apart from a terrible storm during which when I think Tenerife got a years worth of rain the weather was glorious and we did truly have a very good holiday. The difficulty is because of the downsides I have mentioned I can not really recommend this hotel you will just have to make up your own minds.

"Ideal for those who value all inclusive"
Our holiday was fabulous. The hotel was great, very close to the beach, two decent size swimming pools plus a pool for kids. The room was big, even when they brought in a 3rd bed for our daughter, there was still enough space for her to run and play. The only problem was the evening music, but if you won't mind to go to bed after 11 pm, then you'll be fine.

The overall service of the hotel is good. Room was in good condition, all inclusive service worked out great. There's a reasonable choice of food at the buffets and drinks at the bar. "God opplevelse!"

Grande hotel all inclusive, a pochi minuti dalle spiagge della Pinta e Torviscas. Consigliato.

"Fantastic hotel.......fantastic holiday"
09/01/15 Shazzababy1 Widnes, United Kingdom
We stayed here 14-27 Aug, family of 5 (ages 45, 43, 21, 18 & 12). Really good check in and loved the sweeping spiral staircase from reception down to the restaurant and spa area. We were delighted with our room, I had booked 1 x twin room and 1 x triple room. We were actually given a suite which was over 2 floors, had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and 5 balconies!! If you get room 802 you're on to a winner. Both bathrooms had jacuzzi baths with shower over, bedrooms were spacious and plenty of wardrobe space. Restaurant was fantastic, great choice of food and quality was excellent. Pool area was clean and plenty of sun loungers (however if you want loungers in a good spec you need to join the 7am sunbed dash each morning). Entertainment at the pool during the day was good - rifle shooting, archery, kids club, foam party on a Thursday, giant inflatable warrior game on a Friday. Entertainment at night was the usual tribute acts, such as Michael Jackson, Elton John, Barry White. There was also a flamenco show, an eagle show and a reptile show. Hotel is in a fab location, in the centre of shopping area and a 5 min walk to the beach front and harbour area. You can also eat out really cheaply, lots of the beach front restaurants do a 3-course menu for €8.95 per person, with plenty of choice for each course. Five of us ate 3-course meals with drinks for €70, absolute bargain (and food quality and portion sizes were same as from normal menus). Best 4* hotel we've stayed in and I'd definitely go back!!!

"Over rated, just an average hotel!"
09/01/15 Christopher N Nottingham, United Kingdom
I booked this hotel after reading all the great trip advisor comments. on returning I have to comment that I was disappointed, don't believe all the great comments you read about this hotel. In my opinion this is an over rated hotel, I have stayed in better 3 stars. The rooms are just average, dated and in need of a good refurb and clean. Bathrooms are drab and showers poor. Photos of the pool area are deceiving, small area with limited beds and umbrellas for shade, if you didn't get a towel on a bed before 07.45 you hadn't a chance during high season. Hotel entertainment was average. An average hotel all round, although on a plus the foods was varied and of a good standard always with plenty of choice.

Win this holiday in a competition so I was limited on choice but picked this hotel as it had the best rating on trip advisor out of the choice I had. Great choice it was too. We booked a junior suite for 4 of us and were really lucky to be upgraded to sea view room 10th floor. amazing views of sea on one side and mountains on the other. The room was exactly as described in the website. Positives..food was lovely , ate off fresh grill most nights, salad choice great, outdoor seating area fab, waiters really helpful, rooms clean, evening pool bar great, entertainment not bad at all. Reception staff really helpful. It was hard to find fault. If I was being picky I would say children's pool a bit cloudy but that's from the heat, on the plus side the deeper adult pool lovely and quieter, pool music bit too much all day, not much quiet time. Wasn't too bad getting sun beds, people did put towels down but they had pool policy that things removed if no return after an hour in the morning. Entertainment staff nice, not too forceful getting you to join in. I think the only thing was cleaning of the rooms wasn't great. Although rooms were clean, beds weren't re-made well and dirty glasses and plates from complimentary cheese it removed, had to put them outside room to get removed. Cleanliness was overall very good. Oh and last tip. Don't get room over pool area I you want a quiet room, although entertainment is over by 11:) fab holiday would recommend

"Not quite there........"

1st off praise where it's due..... the staff were fantastic with the exception of the cleaning staff..... The food was fantastic all the way through our visit with a very good variety of dishes including local dishes and international .. they have a theme night every night and I have to say I couldn't fault it at all so well done....they obviously take great pride in the cuisine. Staff as I have stated were exceptional and friendly always smiling and polite.. fantastic service at the pool bar and throughout... Unfortunately....cleaning in our room 801 was terrible...we arrived to find cigarette ends and ash all over the balcony area ...the floor in the room was dirty...it looked cleaned as it was swept but your feet were black whilst walking around ...this was never mopped when we were there at all... the bathroom hairdryer musn't have been used for ages as there was a thick layer of dust all over the cable again never cleaned during our stay and the bath itself had black mildew around the seals and grouting and the bathroom bin was broken.... we told reception twice about this and on the 3rd day way gave up and picked up the cigarette ends ourselves..The room fridge was broken. The air conditioning in the room I can only describe as useless.... the outlet was just about blocked up with dust and fluff and very little air was coming out even with it on maximum and not at all cool.... other members of our party in a different room had a much better working unit that you could actually feel....again went to reception and they sent someone to look at it the next day with nothing being done except for them sticking cardboard in the room switch so that it stayed on all the time again with nothing much coming out....back to reception again and the next day someone did look it this....I know this as they left the contents of the vent all over the room floor ....we got a very and a mean very slight breeze out of it on maximum but still had to leave it running 24/7 in order to get some sort of use.... The pool was the biggest hazard I could see....the outside of the pool is made up of tiny tiles like a mozaic effect...many were missing so that your feet caught on them and my daughter cut her chin open on a sharp edge whilst getting out of the pool which we had to get the lifeguard to patch her up... I never saw the pool being cleaned while we were there with the exception of 1 day where they hosed down the poolside but didn't clean it just mearly brushed the water and to be honest it was disgusting what came off.....but never saw anyone cleaning the tiles in the pool.and you could see that quite clearly.... And now the crowning glory..... huge signs saying YOU CAN NOT RESERVE LOUNGERS...unfortunately this is complete rubbish..... if you weren't down by 815 in the morning at the very latest forget about getting a one as there were towels everywhere indeed this started from 630 in the morning every morning... the lifeguard who seemed to watch over the pool area and the staff just ignored this and there was no end of trouble between guests on a regular basis.... if you put a sign up police it !!!.... there simply isn't enough loungers for the number of guests.. The only other thing I was very uncomfortable about was the photographer going around taking photos of the kids in and around the pool without asking permission from the parents.... indeed he was getting them to pose and snapping away where you could then buy them from his booth by the restraunt on an evening.. I just found it very strange where he didn't ask permission and just went up to the kids and snapped away... we told our daughter to turn away and leave.... All in all a good hotel that just needs a bit if money investing in it and it would be an amazing place.... great staff and great food and a great location just let down by a few issues. .........

"Great Hotel, and booked up again."

Lovely hotel, we were all inclusive. First time all inclusive and i have to say this was a wonderful experience here. Food was excellent lots to chose from and staff pleasant. Lovely relaxing down by the pool and with fashion shows on during the day. Food and drinks throughout the day and night. Entertainment during the evening on some nights was ok some good tribute acts. Hotel is in an excellent location with shops all around including a very cheap supermarket selling everything just below the hotel itself. The hotel has a spar which we visited and we found this very good. Lovely walk along to Los Christianos where you can visit more shops and places of interes. We are going back to Be live la Nina next year and cant wait.

"Planning a return visit"

Where do I start ? My husband and I have just returned from 10 nights and are planning to take the family next year . Check in was efficient and even though we were directed to the lifts near reception we found it would have been easier to go to the far lifts opposite the reception to be nearer our room . We had booked a '' promo room '' expecting maybe a small room with no view but wow was we surprised most rooms seem to have a view of some description , luckily ours was on the 8th floor overlooking the pool and with a sea view. The room was quite large and with quite a good sized bathroom a mini fridge was located but I presume you have to pay extra for it to be full though as an all inclusive I would expect both bottled water and tea/coffee making facilities to be included. Though as I was aware of the lack of tea/coffee making facilities prior to going I had packed a small travel kettle which was a life saver , especially if like us you like a drink first thing prior to breakfast I would encourage you to do the same . There are 3 pools one of these small enough for toddlers they are not huge so if you like reading I suggest getting a bed further back as the kids tend to like jumping in and splashing as they do. We went at the height of summer so expected to fight for beds but you soon learn what days are quieter and we just got up early and put towels down .If you want sunbeds at popular resorts in summer then this is what you do .Though be aware you need to be on the beds by 10/ 10.30 cause then the lifeguard will go round and ticket them , he will then remove the towels if you were not on them within the hour. Though saying this it depends which lifeguard is on and we witnessed beds being left for at least 21/2 hours but even though they were ticketed the towels were not removed. The only time we had a problem was when they were deep cleaning the pool area as a bit of tape across is not going to stop insistent holidaymakers maybe a couple of signs at either side in a range of languages would explain better. The food was good and always something for even the fussiest of eaters, would definitely recommend the bbq night. The acts were ok some better than others but like other reviewers the A.I stopping at 11 is questionable. There is a pool side snack bar which provides toasties , salads , burgers, hotdogs, fruit ice cream through the day is excellent especially if you have kids , the restaurant is open for lunch if you fancy something more. The A.I bar has a range of drinks and a few cocktails so ask for the drinks menu then you will know what you can order . You receive a free spa treatment do take this up as its worth a few hours away from the bustle of the pool. Also you have to pay for wifi which apparently is best in the reception but this did not worry us as we were on holiday away from everything . I cannot put into words how helpful the staff were , from the maids to the waiters/waitresses to the bar staff to the maintenance to the reception. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the beach .There is a path to the left of the hotel which leads down to the beach , port and bars. Be aware of the restaurants trying to get you in but some are quite happy with a '' no thank you '' we only found one man who got upset at us for not listening to him. All in all we would definitely go back though I would hope the little flaws are to be sorted soon. ( missing tiles in pool, shower doors not fitting right , towels a decent size )

"Summer 2015"

My wife and i stayed here 2nd/15th August 2015 to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, have to say we could not of asked for any better hotel, lovely staff very helpful, clean hotel and rooms serviced every day, the only complaint i would have is the sunbed etiquette having to be up at 7am every day to put towels out although i did notice the pool life gaurd monitoring the empty beds and if not used he would remove the towel to allow other guests to.
