"Stay at AKA White House"
Greatly enjoyed our stay. Stayed for 7 nights in an extremely spacious one bedroom suite with 1 and 1/2 baths. The kitchen was very well supplied and the washer/dryer a definite plus. The desk staff and doorman always had a smile and were very helpful. The proximity to buses (right outside the front door) and subway (one block) makes travel convenient […] by those means. "Very good hotel - small adjustments and it could b"
We had a great experience at AKA. We traveled with our 3 and 5 year olds and the 2 bedroom apartment exceeded our expecations - the amount of space, the layout, the helpful and freindly staff etc. were outstanding. The pricing also makes it a fantastic value. There were a few things, however, that could elevate it from 4 to 5 stars. First, the lack […] of a restaurant/convenience store in the hotel, as well as the fact that the surrounding area was deserted on a weekend, was a challenge. There isn't even a vending machine to get a soda or a snack. Additionally, they don't even put menus in the rooms of nearby places to order from. That said, the location itself is extremely convenient - near to a couple of metro lines etc. With a few small adjustments of a vending machine and handy menus/suggestions of where to order from, it would be a tremendous improvement. This is a great option for an apartment in the heart of DC. The gym was being renovated so they organised use of another independent gym close by. Highly recommended, although perhaps not for those on a budget!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
