The owners were gracious and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable with a balcony view of the shoreline of the lake and the hotel's beautiful grounds. This quaint inn is right on the lake in a very small town. It is beautifully landscaped and furnished. Margaret takes good care of her guests and knows each one by name. When we got into our room there was a handwritten note welcoming us and a fresh rose and chocolates. The breakfast room is amazing and even though it is a continental breakfast, Margaret […] takes your order and toasts your bagel or scone for you. The train passes very close but does not blow it's whistle so it did not wake us but does shake the bed a little every time it goes by. It is like having "magic fingers" but you don't have to put quarters in. The room has a quiet portable air conditioner, which was good because our neighbor was smoking on his deck and we had to close our door to not smell it. Unpretentious high quality in a very pleasant lakefront setting with lovely flowers and trees. Our studio was compact but very pleasant with a sundeck looking out to the lake. Margaret was a charming hostess at the Continental breakfasts which were held in a very nice veranda with a light blue and white motif which was evident throughout the inn. Easily one of the best bed-and-breakfast inns we've ever stayed in. Location is great, rooms are clean and well appointed, breakfast is delicious, and the owners bend over backwards to make sure their guests are well looked after.
