We stayed here for 3 nights. For the price of $240.00 per night, I would have expected a lot more. Very generic bedding and towels, I guess comparable to a motel 6. Went downstairs to eat a couple times and menu was very limited and staff was not very knowledgeable on how to run a restaurant. No one knew anything about the place they work in. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. The room overlooked the ocean. We woke up and enjoyed watching the dolphins while we drank coffee on the balcony.We enjoyed dining at the hotel and talking to our server who was very nice.

Our first stay, but not our last. We registered with Expedia and received a call, from the Sea Ranch staff, the next day that the room we registered for, was not available. We were given another room (oceanfront, 2 queen beds) and were very please with how quickly and courteously they handled this problem. Housekeeping was great - very efficient. Bathroom […] was spotless, no mold around tub or on shower curtain. Room was quiet and the balcony was a great place to watch the beach during the day and the stars at night. The Sea Ranch hotel uses bait and switch tactics. We booked a single king size bed ten days before we arrived. When we got there we were told that they were sold out and instead got a room with two full sized beds that the Sea Ranch tried to tell us were queen. Like I've gotten taller all of a sudden. They wouldn't discount the room or make any adjustments […] for booking the premium room but giving us less than we paid for. The Sea Ranch suggested we find another hotel. I had to call Expedia who did give us a break. The advertised Wifi didn't work and no one at the hotel could help us. They gave us the phone number of the service provider and asked us to call them. The pool is indoors and located in the parking lot facing the road. Not fun. I recommend staying next door at the Day's Inn or at another hotel. I wouldn't stay at the Sea Ranch again and would recommend visitors find another hotel in the area. Read more

My husband and I arrived on our motorcycle and were allowed to park undercover, which was so nice. Thank you. We had breakfast almost every morning in the Bistro - excellent! My family of four did not enjoy the stay here at all. The bathroom had hair in the sink and counter top when we arrived and the room had an awful musty odor that could be covered up a bit by running the air conditioner. The air conditioner was right next to one of the beds so it was very uncomfortable sleeping with cold air blowing over all night. The […] lock on the door going outside was a little broken and so was hard to lock. There is no complimentary breakfast. Our room did have a small deck overlooking the parking lot and an area of lawn where we could have sat and relaxed on some lawn chairs. The beach is available by walking to the back of the hotel and there is a nice beach access. There is also a nice new pool that is just a short walk outside to access. This was a last minute trip the day after labor day and not a lot was available. We weren't sure what we would find however they had a king with ocean front at a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, bright and "as advertised" ocean/beach front. I would go there again if the rates were reasonable.

The room and the overall hotel are good by beach standards in my opinion. It is a bit musty and you never feel entirely clean but that has been my impression in most oceanfront hotels. App half the rooms were updated in Spring 2012 and are very nice. All rooms have balconies right on the beach. There is no dune in front of the hotel. It sits right on the beach. Our room (in updated portion) was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. Would stay here again (and probably am in about 6 weeks).

My son and I had an excellent time at the Sea Ranch. We were especially impressed with the restaurant, which featured indoor and outdoor seating, with a deck right on the dunes. The food and service were excellent and more than reasonably priced.

My wife and I decided to get away to the outer banks and decided to stay at the Sea Ranch for the second time, but requested an oceanfront room. To our surprise, it wasn't a room, but a suite with a master bedroom, another bedroom with two twin beds, a living/dining room with a kitchen and a small laundry room. The suite was neat and orderly. The Sea Ranch would be a great hotel if you like decor from the 1960s. A breakfast voucher is given for a bar & pub a short distance from the hotel. I have no desire to eat breakfast in a bar. The pool area is nice but the dressing rooms are in terrible condition. Don't intend to stay again.

We had such a wonderful time with a beautiful view of the ocean. This was not our first time at the Sea Ranch. It is one of our most favorite places. The beds were very comfortable and the staff very attentive. I know we'll be going back again!

The location of this hotel is excellent and provides a great view of the ocean, but the rooms could use some updates and repair. Overall the price per night seemed fair and the personal were very friendly. This hotel is OK, but I will mostly likely not return.

The Hotel was OK. Room was clean but not fancy and a little out dated. The only complaint I have was that the indoor heated pool was cold for a heated pool. Considering that the reason we took this hotel was so that our grandchildren could swim in a heated pool in April, this was a major disapointment.

Although the hotel was under construction, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast vouchers for Jolly Roger were awesome! The view was so pretty and the kids loved the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

If you want to stay right on the beach without shelling out a fortune, Sea Ranch is perfect. It is a little older and the room had a bit of a musty smell, so don't go expecting the Ritz - but it wasn't dirty or unsafe. The hotel itself is a little old, but the rooms are fine. If you're looking for a luxury spa type experience, go somewhere else. This is your basic hotel building with beach front rooms. The balconies are glassed in, with sliding windows, which was a little weird but okay at the same time. I guess it's good to have that in the winter. Though I booked […] and was confirmed in a King room, when we go to the hotel we were told "no kings available and Hotels.com approved putting you in a double queen"...funny, no one bothered to check with me on that one...it wasn't that big a deal, but had I been okay with two beds (that were not queen sized by theway) then I would have stayed at a different property that I usually stay at because it's beach view is better AND it has a kitchen. This room had a mini fridge and microwave though... Needless to say, I wasn't happy with hotels.com at all about that. Back to the hotel; the staff was great, beach access very convenient, the pool looked good (we didn't use it) and the rooms were pretty comfortable. Our room came with breakfast. We were originally told we had two choices of restaurants to use, but the voucher we received was for one specific restaurant. The restaurant is less than a block away, so you can walk easily. The atmosphere was a bit wacky :-), the service was outstanding and the food was absolutely awesome! If you compare this room price & value with teh breakfast addition to others with their "hot breakfast" in the lobby, The Sea Ranch and Jolly Roger wins hands down! The location was great, right on the beach. The hotel has three parts - an older section facing the parking lot, and two newer sections on the beach - one part with guest rooms and another abandoned part with time share condos. What a shame that such a great location is being wasted. Our room smelled of mildew and the A/C was so noisy that we kept it […] off most of the time and hoped for a cool breeze through the outside door. The pool was nice but needed some sprucing up. The worn carpet on the all the concrete areas did not give you a "clean" feeling. From what we heard, The Pearl, the onsite French cuisine restaurant, was wonderful, but pricey. We did not take advantage of that . The rates were reasonable as we went just after the season was over in late September. Having the indoor pool was important to us and we did enjoy that. The offsite breakfast at The Jolly Roger was great and worth the trip. It was included in our package for both days. Overall, it was just okay.
