This place is outdated, the quality of our room was nothing like the pictures on the website. The food was nothing to write home about, we ate it because we needed "substance", but it was not what I expected. Part of the beach was closed off with yellow tape, so this was not pleasant to look at. We were upgraded to a nicer room, the "cabana" as they […] called it. DeCameron charges for internet that is not reliable (no refunds). My first day on vacation the maid picked my luggage lock and stole personal belongings and cash, even thought I had DO NOT DISTURB sign placed on door knob. The food was mediocre. All meats served were over cooked and tough.

We actually went to the decameron Galeon for our honeymoon and it was great! we were there about 4 days and everything was fantastic! from the food to the employees to the room everything was just amazing! and would recommend this to anyone!

Considering the low economic surroundings in the immediate area, I’d say the resort did what it was supposed to do under the circumstances. I read the reviews more negative than positive prior to booking the trip and figured I’m only going to be there for the weekend to visit some friends so I’d give it a try. Much to my delight the place was great. […] I was attracted to the all inclusive deal of drinking and eating for free while I was in Santa Marta and will say I was very satisfied. Only few issue that I had was the bed was really firm and that they have sales reps trying to sell you vacation packages to other Decameroon resorts while you’re trying to relax. I also didn’t like that they had one sales individual asking my girlfriend personal questions that did not pertain to anything regarding the sales pitch while I was away getting the drinks. The first room was near all construction being done. It had lots of nails in the walls with no pictures. They put us in another room 3 hours later. The day was wasted with sitting around unable to participate in any swimming or activities. The water was not treated in the rooms and it smelled real bad. If you are into rudeness, bad service, hotel employees who are short & not courteous, then Hotel Decameron chain is for you!!!!! With the exception of 1 employee at reception, everyone else can use an immersion course in customer service. Here's a list of things that are failing in Sta Marta. 1.water in shower, sink & toilet was brown 2.no A/C in bathroom. […] It was in the upper 90s 3.A/C in bedroom blew right smack into your head & chest 4.alcohol was watered down 5.elevator didn't latch on correctly, you needed to step up & out 6.pool closed down for the day at approx 530pm 7.at the infirmary, paramedic tried to pass off as a doctor & misdiagnosed a child, said she was severely dehydrated when she had only thrown up twice, said she needed to be rushed into town to see a private doctor b/c he knew we had good int'l health insurance coverage 8.hotel is only a few hundred feet from a railroad. Train passes by like a shaterring boulder at least 3 times a night & wakes you 9.tv in room was old, picture was hazed white, remote controls hardly worked 10.construx crew worked on floor above drilling & hammering from 10a-5p 11.construx crew hammered at the tv cable wire & took out cable in the middle of a world cup semi-final 12.actual pillows had visible mold & covered by pillow cases 13.room smelled moldy & musty, it was continuously humid in the room 14.excursion office messed up one of our trips & separated our group Cartagena hotel had less problems, but still not worth it Read more

This hotel provides great entertainment and has many facilities on premises, when they say all exclusive – they mean it! Food and beverage is available 24 hours absolutely free, however you will need to reserve a table for any of the restaurants at night – be quick otherwise you will be given an awkward time for your dinner. We had an apartment in one of their villas, the apartment was well out of date and the cleanness of the apartment was below standards. Internet is not available in the apartments (can only be used in the reception area and is costly) and laundry services are very expensive. The hotel says it’s a 4 star, but I think it’s more like a 3 star. Also one other thing – the staff are more than happy to help you, but they hardly speak a word of English. Don’t go expecting a red carpet treatment in this hotel, however you will enjoy a pleasant, safe and very warm hospitality. Read more

En general satisfecho. Lástima la ubicación con respecto a los buques de carga de carbón en el mar y el mar muy oscuro, barroso (lejos del caribe color esmeralda). Muy caro para lo que ofrece: la comida es aceptable, pero no es muy variada, las habitaciones son para un hotel 3 estrellas, el baño no gustó mucho, la piscina ni la tocamos... La unica queja es que la comida es muy sencilla, sirven poca cantidad y cuando es buffet libre son vajillas pequeñas que esta la comida y no la reponen a menudo. El tiempo para comer es de una hora pero no sale satistecho por no haber suficiente comida y al tiempo para que uno coma con gusto.

Buscaba economía y calidad. El hotel esta cerca al aeropuerto por lo tanto el servicio de taxi parece ser costoso. La pagina Hoteles.com muestra horas de check in y check out incorrecto. Leía muchos comentarios de comida y es verdad, compran la de menor calidad y se siente en el sabor. Otro detalles es la reserva para la cena lo cual siempre dicen que […] hay 4 restaurantes pero extrañamente siempre ofrecen 2 y esos 2 que nunca ofrecieron están casualmente llenos. El personal es muy amable. Las playas es mejor otra opción. El hotel vende paquetes. Unos señores regalan noches en hoteles pero te piden TDC. No entiendo el regalo. Si viajan con personas mayores al área de piscina y playa están en descenso es decir las instalaciones no son completamente planas. Pueden mejorar muchas cosas. Otra cosa que nunca entendí es porque los restaurantes abren a la misma hora del snack, entonces si te da hambre a las 6pm u 11pm, todo esta cerrado porque coinciden. Cobrar le conexión a internet y solo hay en el lobby, tampoco lo especifica la página. Lo del deposito de garantía y otras tasas esta erroneo, ya que el hotel cargo todo a mi TDC, es decir tafifas e impuestos. Allá NO pagué ni un peso adicional. De resto todo bien. Read more

El hotel es regular, pero la playa que tiene no es de las mejores, pues las aguas no son transparentes por la cercania a descargas de carbón. Las actividades reacreativas son buenas. El servicio de los empleados no es de las mejores pues son muy condicionadas y dejan de lado a los demas. La variedad de las comidas es limitada. Nos dejaron sin vacantes […] para el tour a la reserva natural de Tairona, todo estaba copado, deben dejar unos cupos para los huespedes que llegan recien, no nos dieron otra opción para realizarlo, lo único que nos recomendaron fue tomar un taxi que ellos nos lo podian hacer. personale molto attento e cordiale sempre disponibile per ogni richiesta. la struttura è tenuta molto bene. La spiaggia è carina, l'acqua molto meno causa vicinanza estuario fiume e dirimpetto estrazione carbone dal mare. per le spiaggie belle dal Rodadero in poi.
