I was completely unhappy!! First, the picture of Red Roof Inn on Hotels.com did not represent this one!! It was a dive! It looked like the type of place that charges by the hour! I arrived late in the evening, went to the lobby and waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk. I rang the bell they had, i even called twice from the lobby to the […] actual hotel and finally got an answer!! There was a "Lounge" connected to the hotel - very seedy elements hanging around. This place needed a lot of work!! My room was fairly clean except for the clumps of hair on one towel!! It did look like they had tried to modernize the rooms - they needed to spend time on the overall look of the hotel. The hallways were run down, ceiling tiles stained, rags laying on the floor in the hallway, it smelled of smoke. I would have absolutely changed hotels if I hadn't arrived so late in the evening!! The hotel felt safe and had easy parking. The bathroom was clean. The room was spacious. I had enough room for the playpen I brought our baby. The computer chair was broken and a lamp looked like it was tipping over. Other than that, I would definately stay there again.

The room was horrible. The bathroom filthy, no towels, except dirty ones left by the previous occupant, no blanket on one bed, beds like rocks, no extra pillows. There was feces on two walls in the bathroom, the tub and toilet dirty, and the entire place damp and musty.

VERY Poor security. Front desk agent announced our room # in front of other guests which is not part of hotel security protocol. Someone entered our room after we checked in and had gone out for awhile. Was supposed to be non smoking....smelled smoke in the room all night long. Very poor. Too much money for the facility.

My non-smokeing room reeked of smoke, and there was even an ashtray on the table. Dead bolt lock didn't work, which was scarry due to the shady fellows hanging around the hallways and coming in and out of the basement bar late at night. The floor of my room was sticky and there was a wet spot near the heater/airconditioner unit. When I turned it on […] for some fresh air it just blew even more powerful smoke oders into the room. The only good things about the hotel was that it was close to where I wanted to visit and the desk clerk was nice. Why didn't I ask him to get me another room? I figured they'd all be just like mine. Overall it was a nice place to stay. Next time I'm in that area i will def stay at this hotel. The only thing i will suggest it's to try to keep the cigarette smell off the hallway.

The Red Roof is convient and clean. I was staying there to do a job in the surrounding area and found it to be just what I needed. A basic place to crash. I had a problem with the fridge and tv when I first arrived that was taken care of immediatley I just wished they had checked their computer for my check out date, I was woken with knocking a day […] early to check out. From the first second I pulled into the hotel parking lot, it was difficult to find parking (which gets worse later at night when the bar is open). The sheets had cigarette burns in them and random holes in the sheets which I made them change immediately within five minutes of arriving. After one night, I had to ask them to drop off clean towels due […] to the fact that they did not even come past my room to see if I needed anything. The room (which as supposed to be a non-smoking room) smelled of smoke and had a cigarette in the window. In addition, after they clean the rooms, they leave dirty sheets and /or towels in the hallway. If possible, go anywhere else besides the Red Roof Inn in Toms River, NJ. Read more

Rooms and bed outstanding as well cleanliness overall. Large comfortable rooms/bath. However that being said front desk service was lacking and less than accomadating when I arrived two hours prior to the 2PM check in. Service issues were my beef.... physical aspects worthy of praise for the price!
