The title says it all the hotel with very pretty and the staff was very helpful however the bed was very very hard and comforter with made of burlapor at least it for it felt like that.actually the comforter could have been made of hemp or recycled plastic bottles.

Hesperia was a very nice hotel, and hotels.com got us a great deal. It was trendy without being obnoxious. Front desk staff were friendly and professional, and housekeeping was thorough. There were lots of upscale touches like high-quality towels, decent glassware in the room, and recessed lighting. Our room faced a quiet side street. Breakfast buffet […] was very good, with healthful choices. Hesperia had some issues. First morning there was almost no hot water, and the built-in towel-warmer did not work. Front desk took care of the former, and said the latter was decorative only. (?) On the second night the toilet paper dispenser broke, and the housekeepers made no effort to have it fixed. They hung it back in place, so they knew it was broken, but they did not call it in. The guest should not have to. I also find liquid soap dispensers in showers weird, even if they might be environmentally friendly--the plastic cover on ours kept popping off. In all, it's a very good hotel with a very good location. It's 15 minutes' walk to the farthest of sights, and public transportation is nearby as well. If they want to play with the big boys, they'll need to clean up a few parts of their act. Read more

The hotel is fine, but, considering how dificcult Bilbao is to navigate, the hotel site should have a VERY clear map with direcciions to get in comming from either side of the river. a bit difficult to locate, it is across the river from theGuggenheim but easy to walk to. we arrived on a Monday evening and everything was closed up as far as restaurants which surprised us for Spain. there is parking but the ramps are very narrow and tight. great room and staff was adequate. good value

The hotel was nice; the room service was very good and at a good price. We didn't like that there were no shops or restaurants close by. You can walk the river front which is nice and it is close to the Guggenheim museum. Internet service in the room was spotty. There were some other issues with the room such as the drains in the sink were really slow […] or stopped up the whole time; and you probably need to bring your own soap - the one that they provide for the sink smells like orange fanta and the shampoo/liquid soap in the shower is unusable. The staff was very helpful and able to communicate in english fairly well. The hotel was clean and quiet. The location is perfect for walking to Old Town along the walkway by the river and to the Guggenheim and the main city, all about 10 minutes from the hotel. The area is safe and clean. The only sugesstion would be that when a reservation is confirmed […] directions to the hotel would be beneficial. This was probably our favorite hotel in all the cities we visited in Spain. It was very modern, chich and in a great location right on the river and within walking distance to everything important. The restaurant is also very good and I'm a tough critic.

Good overall, but non-smoking room smelt of stale cigarettes. Garage charges very high @ 18 euros per night. Room rather dark owing to poor lighting.

It is a brand new hotel. Everything was fine besides two things: 1) room was tiny and 2) although it was build (or redecorated) recently the quality of work was not so great. E.g. I heard alarm clocks from my neighbors, water in the show was not coming with the good pressure and right temperature.

Why? Entrance to room is like walking into a cupboard as it is all wood panel. TV is limited all Spanish channels with BBC World News which shows nothing British. No room service today. (Sunday 1530) No Gym/Spa, pool etc. rooms poorly serviced e.g. shower gel dispensor never filled during stay, cracked sink, towels not changed during 7 day stay. Put […] them in bath and they hang em up again. Toilet seat is right side hard against bathroom wall so limited in space. Bed was very squeeky if you moved which impared sleep and not good if you want a romantic night in. Fitted with bath but wife could not use as change over valve seized in shower position. Special on for dinner in restaurant at 17 Euros 3 course plus water. Good deal but limited choice. Breakfast buffet very good. service at bar and on patio very good. room view was the pits, backyard littered with ciggy butts. Bilbao itself vey steep in history but 5 days probably enough. stayed for 7. Visited a raft of places including all museums. Eskotren is very good for moving about. Buy a ticket from machine on arrival at airport (left after exiting to arrivals). You can use on bus, trains, tren etc and get 40% discount on your travel. One ticket can be used for multiple persons, just scan for numbers travelling. Read more

I stayed in this hotel with my brother for 7 nights while we toured Bilbao and the surrounding areas. To be honest, I can't find anything negative to say about our experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the restaurant served excellent food (we ate there one night when they had a dinner special), and the cleaning staff were amazing […] as well. The hotel is very modern, with great views of downtown Bilbao and the Guggenheim museum. Location is good the Guggenheim, 20 minutes walk to the Old Town, 2 minutes to the funiculator (a must do trip) and 1 minute to the river sided walk. 15 to 20 minutes stroll to the fantastic Metro. The hotel is a little isolated from the popular cafe/bar scene, though I did eat and drink at a few fantastic rustic places.

Excellent location right on the river opposite the Guggenheim Museum. Walking distance to the town centre and easy to get around. Nearby bus service takes you direct to the airport in 15 minutes. Excellent healthy breakfast served in the morning with a good variety of items. Would recommend highly.

Used the hotel as a launch pad for the Guggenheim and the rest of Bilbao. Ideally placed for the museum and the old town:the former was a five minute walk away; the latter was 15 minutes. The room was very quiet. Air con was effective and it's a relatively quiet part of the city but remember, after all, it is a city. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel. €14 was too steep though the price is €10 if you pre book. Instead we went to the bar behind the hotel. Turn right and then right again and then cross the road. The bar owner was every friendly and helped me with my GCSE Spanish. Recommend the tortilla with red peppers to start. Beautiful tuna mayonnaise between the two layers. Coffee is superb too. Hotel staff were really helpful. They even held our bags for us as we had half a day to kill before we headed back to the airport. I would stay here again without hesitation. Read more
