The hotel was great. The rate was good, the location great, and the service outstanding. The breakfast was far above average for similar low price hotels. We stayed here 2 nights in the middle of a 2 week trek across Europe and this hotel was among the best. The hotel facilitated booking a second night with no difficulty. Two minor issues: the wifi […] on the top floor in the corner was spotty or non-existent; our drain backed up at one point and they quickly moved us to a new room. Just around the corner from the south gate entrance of the Old Town, this hotel provides an excellent base to explore the Old Town. My room was in the basement, decent but compact size, clean decent sized bathroom with shower, writing desk and wireless Internet. Check in was speedy but a bit curt, and no offer to be shown to the room. This did cause […] a little difficulty as there were no obvious signs to the basement floor and you actually had to go up a ramp and around the back of the ground floor rooms to find the staircase to the basement rooms. A simple sign would help here. Breakfast was adequate but overcrowded and seating not managed. I was happy to stay here a night or 2. My room 308 was quite small. The bed was very comfortable. The room was equipped with a well filled mini bar, water heater and coffee. The Tv was quite small, but 16 different channels was available. The staff in the receiption was very serviceminded and available.

Great location--just inside the walls of the Old Town--with lots of charm. Service was very good. Hotel was in excellent condition. Rooms are very small. My single had no space even for a luggage stand. Free wifi was nice, but signal in my 2nd floor room was too weak to be any use. Breakfast was good

This is a charming hotel in a quiet corner of the old town. The only disadvantage was that the rooms are small. This is fine for a single traveler, but I would not recommend the hotel for pairs or couples. The breakfast is okay, but getting boring very quickly.

Certainly not the highest quality. Rooms are so small we had to use the window sill to set our bags because not enough floor space to do so. Toilet seat broken. Bathroom so small you could barely turn around. Shower curtain discolored and moldy. Breakfast buffet okay but with few extra amenities. For example, no coffee cream, only milk. I was on the 2nd floor on the street and while the room was cool it was a little noisy. It was a very nice place with a great breakfast in the morning. A computer in the lobby with free internet was great to have since I don't travel with a laptop.

The Meriton Old Town hotel is located within the old town, albeit at the very edge of the northern end of the old town, but it is within walking distance of all the old town sights. Not too far from the coach station (taxi fare was about EUR 5). My room was clean but very small and I had to move my luggage every time I needed to open the room door. […] Avoid rooms on the ground floor (referred to as 1st floor) if you are a light sleeper due to noise from passenger traffic in the adjacent lane. Also avoid rooms ending with '4' e.g. 104, 204, etc, as sounds from the next door's bathroom can be heard clearly through the thin walls. My room had a minibar but no tea/coffee making facilities. Telephone housekeeping for the use of an iron and ironing board. Hotel staff were excellent and helpful with directions and tours. We booked a room for 3. It was a small twin bed room with an extra fold up bed brought in that made the room pretty tight. We were only there for 1 night each time so it was okay but if you were there for longer it would be a problem as getting access to anything ( cupboards, tea and coffee making facilities ) was made difficult. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly.Continental breakfast was plentyful with a good selection.You are minutes walk from all the sites of interest in the old town , and close to transport if you need to go further afield. Team and location are great, but I guess it depends on which side of the building is located your room. We were lucky and got the quiet side with a view on the church. Tallinn is not a "city", but from this hotel on, you can easily go in the old town and the main train station as well. The hotel rooms were very simple however, adequate and clean. The bathroom floor tiles were heated which is perfect for a stay during the cold weather. The location was perfect as it was 5 minutes walk to the main square and was located opposite the St. Olav church. Because it was not so close to the sqaure, it was a nice and peaceful location. We arrived at the hotel which is built partly in to the old city wall, our room was very very small, however, it had a well fitted if tiny bathroom and comfortable bed. The hotel was perfect for a long break to Tallinn, the loaction is great,close to all attractions and restaurants. The hotels staff are all friendly and the rooms were nicely decorated and very comfy. Breakfast is good and has a great variety to choose from. I would stay again!

I will not stay in this hotel again, in spite of its good location. This our second stay (both were booked at the same time), and both times we were unhappy. The bathroom in our room had a very strong and bad smell and we asked the reception if they can change our room or upgrade us to a better room, for which we are happy to pay. The reception person […] said that today they do not have other free rooms, and tomorrow he does not know. I asked about other hotels of their chain and I was told that they are totally independent (although in our previous stay and they double booked and sent us to other hotel of their chain). Var her i 2 netter på reise med familie. Hotellet var meget fint, og delvis bygget inn i den gamle bymuren. Grei gåavstand til hovedgatene og serverdigheter. Frokosten var helt topp med mye å velge mellom! Rommene var til deles små, og de rommene som vender ut mot hovedveien hadde en del trafikkstøy. Hotellin takana menee vilkas tie, joten jos liikenteen meteli häiritsee, suosittelen pyytämään huoneen sisäpihan (vanhankaupungin) puolelta. Pieni keskitason hotelli keskitasoisine aamiaisineen. Huone oli melko pieni, mutta kaikin puolin sopiva yhden yön yöpymiselle. Sijainti oli tosi hyvä. Laivaterminaaleilta sopiva kävelymatka ja vanhankaupungin houkutukset lähellä.

I stayed one night at Meriton Old Town. The hotel is quite easily accessed by foot/taxi because it is located at the edge of the old town and is practically a part of the medievel citywall. The reception was quite helpful and spoke fluent English. The standard (or economy?) room was just below the roof up on the 4th floor. There was a small "ceiling" […] window towards the park but due to bad weather conditions the view was mainly hidden by snow/sleet stuck on window. I had two separate beds put next to each other. The matress was rather too hard for me and the pillow too fluffy. However, I could sleep quite ok. Even though the chilly (+2 °C) weather the rooftop room was not cold, instead I found it too warm in the night. The bathroom was small but everything worked well. The breakfast was ok but if you came to have breakfast a bit later there was not left everything. For me it was ok. I also went to the Meriton Spa which is free to use for hotel guests of Meriton Hotel Old town. There was not so many people at Friday noon so maybe worth visiting. Two jacuzzis and one bigger pool and a smaller pool (for children?). Then you could relax in salt room and aroma room and steam room and Finnish sauna. I found this very nice experience because the weather was horrible and staying outside was not in my mind. If you look for a budget hotel I recommend this one. At least I found this hotel to be very good for the money I paid. Read more
