This hotel had great service, location, and clean! The staff was very friendly and willing to assist! Location was also great, walking distance to most things! Restaurant next door was also pretty good! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Hotel was well appointed and very nice. The location is somewhat out of the main area but its still close enough to walk into town. The room was comfortable and the facilities are well kept. The room has a refrigerator which is helpful as well as internet within the rooms. The front staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room was situated towards the street […] ( Cavour ) and it was quite noisy. In fact, we had to keep our windows closed at night because of the constant noise ( this was the only hotel that we had this problem with ).. We spent 3 weeks in Italy - 4 days here. It was not my favorite place. The hotel was modern and well maintained but some days our room wasn't cleaned until after 3-4pm. All European hotels are small, but our room felt very cramped and crowded with the layout.

Not that close to the main area of town. There were no restaurants near here. But, we ate at the restaurant in the hotel our last night, and it was delightful. They were so nice to still serve us even though we got there just before closing. And, they let us stay as long as we liked. The service was great and the food was even better.

We love the breakfast at this hotel. It has a wide range of selections from cereal, fresh fruits, cheese, eggs. The location is a bit far from the center of town but the hotel is beautiful and more quiet. The room we stayed in was small for my family of three.

While more stylized than ornate, the hotel was very accomodating and located within walking distance of the sites in Florence. Request a room not facing the street since there is a lot of motor bike traffic on Via Cavour.

On one hand, the hotel has a good location (within walking distance to the "touristy" parts of Florence) and the on-site restaurant was fantastic (get the T-Bone!). The staff members were friendly and it was nice that they had umbrellas for us to borrow :) During our 3-night stay at the very end of April 2012, they did not have the air conditioning […] turend on in the building and our room was uncomfortably warm during two of the three nights we stayed. Also, the room we were in (I don't remember the number) was just over a busy street, and it was very loud at night, thus a little difficult to get solid sleep. I'd say it's a good place to stay considering the general up-keep and style of the hotel, the price, the location, and the on-site restaurant, but if you are picky about noise at night, it might not be the best. Do not go to this Hotel. First they charged me 25 Euros for some municipal tax per night. 6 Euros of a plate of ice from the Bar and they tried to convince me to park there for 30 Euros a night because I would get a fine parking in the street. No fines were given for free street parking. The location was perfect!!! Super close to the train station and only a few blocks from the historical district. The entire city is walkable from here. Sylvia at the front desk was the kindest hotel representative we encountered in all of Italy. The restaurant at the hotel was delicious and it's staff very friendly as well.

Everything about this hotel was excellent including the restaurant and atmosphere. The hotel has a parking garage which is a blessing in Florence. It is within walking distance of the Accademia, the Uffizi, Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. It is, however, on the expensive side as is everything in Florence (don't buy anything in the Uffizi cafeteria).

Nice hotel, nearby to some of the sights in Florence, we didn't even need to use the car, we were able to walk to most of the things we wanted to see. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly enough, WiFi isn't great and can only support one device per room. Other than that I would recommend it. This is a great hotel, it is close enough to walk to all the sites but far enough away from the center to get quiet nights sleep. The hotel was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Nice clean hotel. Cost about 25 Euro to get from Airport to hotel. Very quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of the Dumo (cathedral). Breakfast was fine. Beds nice and firm.

Hotel was in good location abt 15 min walk to Duomo. Hotel was modern and very well designed. Room was perfect size and the included breakfast was amazing. Also not to be forgotten is the free Wi-Fi connection which is a luxury in Italy. (in other hotels they were charging 9 euros for 30 minutes). Personel was very friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at the Athenaeum, and would happily stay there again. The facilities are excellent, with restaurant and beautiful central courtyard. The room is also of good quality and a reasonable size. In a busy, hot city, it is a calm oasis.

The staff ruined this hotel experience for us - on checking in I needed to use the advertised free wifi to check an address. When it failed to work, the reception desk repeatedly told me that i had to be doing something wrong, and were completely unhelpful, assuring me that 'other people' were using the Internet just fine. Not until the next day did […] I get a curt message that the Internet was out for the whole building - with no apology for the inconvenience forthe time wasted. One of my friends requested a second pillow on our first night which took over 24 hours to arrive! In addition, the advertised 'triple room' with three twin beds had a double and a pull-out trestle bed that had not been put up correctly and collapsed the first timeoneof us sat on it. All in all, not what we expected from a 4-star hotel, and not even any medieval italiancharm to redeem it. Read more

Very good hotel in a main via of Firenze very near of San Marco Piazza and the center of the city, where everything happens. Very good design, very clean, great service and the personnal is also wonderful. It's a must have.
