Hotel Splendid Cannes - Cannes

We stayed at the hotel based on a recommendation from our friends that stayed there 20 years ago. The hotel seemed to be in need of major recarpeting and overhaul. The staff was very helpful and ready to engage with me despite my broken French. We had a Seaview room and exceppt for the A/C unit on the lower part of the window ledge (which really was […] not a problem) we had a beautiful view of the port. The hotel may have been a 4 star hotel many years ago, but it is now definitely a 3 star. WE would stay here again. Great location and pretty good value. Read more

I was not at all satisfied with the service at this hotel. First, there is plastic lining the carpets?! Second, we were promised a balcony not a set of french doors that opened up into an air conditioner. Third, we were given wrong driving directions by the front desk. Fourth, this hotel has absolutely no parking and you should prepare to spend a lot […] of money for a parking garage a couple blocks away. Fifth, we were charged 30 Euros for a breakfast buffet that we didn't take. We tried to explain this to the front desk but we were told there was no management available and that we had to pay. As soon as we got home, we emailed the hotel about the $50 charge but we heard nothing. In my experience, the customer is always right and that is NOT the case at this hotel. DO NOT stay here. There are better hotels in the area. I would recommend staying in Nice or nearby towns. Read more

If it weren't for the maintenance going on while we were there, I would have given the condition of the hotel a higher rating. The hotel is old, but for the most part, well-maintained. The bathroom was nice and big and the plumbing was in better condition than in some newer hotels. We had a lovely big room on the 3rd floor which looked over the marina. […] The furniture was comfortable and we didn't feel cramped at all when spending time in the room: 2 adults, 2 children. Our television was tiny for the size of the room, but it was a flat screen and worked well. The hotel does not have a car park, but it was helpful to know beforehand that they have a temporary parking area cordoned off right in front of the hotel, to load and unload luggage. This was helpful as finding parking near or around the busy location of the hotel is not easy. The hotel suggested a car park that was quite expensive. Just around the corner we found a similar structure for cheaper. The Splendid hotel is on the main street with great shopping, cinemas and restuarants. Read more

The hotel needs a make-over in some areas, but the convenience and cleanliness of the building cannot be denied. It is a short walk to the rue d'Antibes […] and we were there during the winter "Soldes." Much was available for sale and for window shopping. A gem in the heart of Cannes. Within walking distance to the major attractions. Casino is a short 2 blocks away. You could pay 5-10 times more by staying at an ultra-luxe hotel brand (Miramar, Ritz, Marriott, etc), or you can pay much less at a historical hotel. Facility is pretty well-maintained.

Although the hotel was well in the centre of Cannes and near the Palsi des festival, the noise from the harbour starting at 7 am until late afternoon was really enoying. The chiminey of the restaurant next door caught fire and the pipe from the fire brigade burst on top of the hotel roof, which flooded the common parts. OK, it's not the Majestic but it is right next door (almost). it's a fraction of the cost so this review is based on value, not absolute. I booked a room each for a friend and myself. We were on different floors. Her room was twice the size of mine, far superior with a better outlook and more storage space etc. and yet they both cost the same, My room overlooked a back street with cafes and bars and was very noisy at night until the small hours and later. therefore could not keep the […] window open. we gaan 1 of 2x per jaar naar Cannes, en verblijven altijd in een ander gedeelte. Dit was de eerste keer in de buurt van de haven, dit is erg toeristisch, je wordt vaak afgezet. Maar het is een levendige buurt.

Hotel venduto come un quattro stelle ma in realtà non va oltre un 2 stelle. Camera molto piccola per essere una doppia e nel bagno si faceva fatica a muoversi. Pulizia scadente e necessita dii molta manutenzione. Insomma un disastro di Hotel. Si salva solo per la posizione.

Très bon accueil ce qui est de plus en plus rare à Cannes. l'hôtel est propre et les chambres confortables, bien que la mienne fut petite. Salle de bains impeccable et set de toilette avec des produits de qualité. Je recommande le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse avec vue sur le palais et le port. Très bon hotel, j'y séjournerai de nouveau.

Die Lage des Hotels ist direkt gegenüber dem Palais des Festivals und dem alten Hafen. Alle Geschäfte, Restaurants und Bars liegen in direkter Umgebung. Sofern man ein Zimmer zur Hafenseite und in der 3. bis 5. Etage hat man einen traumhaften Blick über den Hafen mit seinen Luxusyachten, über das Meer, zu den vorgelagerten Inseln und die Altstadt von […] Cannes. Durch die zentrale Lage muß man allerdings auch Straßenlärm in Kauf nehmen. Da die Zimmer mit Klimaanlage ausgerüstet sind, kann man jedoch die Fenster schließen und hört nicht mehr viel. Für ein 3-Sterne-Hotel ist es gut ausgestattet. Superior-Zimmer mit Plasma-TV, Telefon, Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher, Bademäntel, Toilettenartikel und täglich frische Handtücher. Frühstück schön auf der Sonnenterrasse im 1. Stock, allerdings nicht im Zimmerpreis inbegriffen. Personal sehr freundlich. Wünsche bei der Buchung (z.B. Lage der Zimmer) wurden alle berücksichtigt. Suveränt läge. Mysiga rum. Rent och fräscht. Vi bodde på gaveln och hade utsikt både över gamla stan och hamnen. Tyvärr ingen balkong. Gullig frukostmatsal med härlig frukostbuffet. Man kan även sitta ute på terassen och äta. Prisvärt.
