Staff was very good. Room cleaning was not the best though. Front desk was very polite and morning breakfast was excellent. This hotel has best location. The location is very convenient; less than 100 feet from the Slussen metro station. Price was adequate, given how expensive hotels are in Sweden in general. Pros: * Excellent breakfast. * WiFi access was fast, free, and stable. * Very convenient location. * The staff speaks excellent English, and went out of their way to be gracious and accommodating. * […] Gorgeous building. Furnishings are Scandinavian-style simple, but comfortable. * Beds are very comfortable, if a bit small. Cons: * Proximity to Slussen means it is not at all quiet on the weekends (Friday / Saturday). In addition, this is a very old building with little soundproofing and wood floors that amplify sound. I heard every conversation my neighbors had, and, if you are a light sleeper, you will have difficulties. Bring earplugs. * The single room (with bathroom) I had was very, very small. It was adequate for the two nights I stayed there, but others might find it claustrophobic, especially those used to U.S.-style hotel rooms. The bathroom is no larger than a hallway coat closet. * As a historic building, there is no elevator, and the stairs and doorways are quite narrow. Difficult to wrestle large suitcases around and up a couple of flights of stairs if you are mobility-limited.. If you're traveling light / one-bag, though, it's worth it. Read more

On occasion other guests left the bathroom worse condition than when they found it (to put it politely), but the hotel was wonderful about taking care of it promptly (and yet still, not what you like to see). Hotel Anno 1647 is very centrally located to the Slussen metro station which is only 1.3km from the main railroad station. It is an easy walk into old town and the downtown areas of Stockholm. My husband and I got a room with a shared bath (down the hallway). The room was mInimalist, very bare with a sink in the room. There is no air conditioning, so […] it got very hot in our room. The window opened to a loud street leading to the subway. We were here during the week, so it was loud around 11 pm. But we were told by someone else staying here that over the weekend it got really loud at about 3am when people were heading home from the local bar scene (which there is a lot of in the immediate vicinity). However, the breakfast saved this hotel. It was splendid! I would recommend this hotel if you got a room on a higher floor with it's own bathroom. And facing the front of the hotel or courtyard. You don't need to stay in Gamla Stan if you travel to Stockholm, this hotel is just a walk across the short pedestrian bridge and a Metro stop around the corner. The hotel staff were excellent. The location is also good, very close to the historic part of Stockholm. The area is noisy at night and the room gets too warm if the windows are closed. All the doors slam loudly if not carefully shut, so there is too much noise when people enter their rooms or go to the common bathroom at night.

Very Good position indeed, although in the centre of things, the location just off the main walkway meant a quiet nights rest! Perfect! Staff were fabulous, nothing too much trouble. This hotel was cheap, and very close to Slussen tube station. In easy walking distance to the old town (Gamla Stan) too. A little noisy outside at night in July, since the area is popular with people going out. However, windows were very good at keeping noise out. Staff always very helpful, and spoke excellent English.

Although the room was basic, it was very clean and had a large window.
