Worst hotel ever! Jacuzzi didn't work, and that's why we booked this hotel. We stayed 2 nights and our room was never cleaned. We complained, but young men behind the desk really didn't care. I would never stay in this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"DO NOT STAY HERE"
We drove by the hotel before booking on Hotels.com. It had a decent location and it looked nice from the outside. After booking we went back a few hours later to check in. NO ONE was at the front desk. We waited for about ten minutes and finally a guy came in and gave us a lecture about checking in early. At that point we were only 30 min early. He […] said he had to check to see if our room was ready. That seemed odd since this was a decent sized place. After checking in we were informed that our room was actually across the street and it was in horrible repair. The door to our room must have been broken down or broken into as the frame was dented and wood splintered. The room stunk and we did not feel safe. If we had seen this before booking we would NEVER have booked here. Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other nearby hotels that are about the same price and nicer. This place is beyond disgusting and they had a note on the wall that they have taken inventory and if anything is missing they will charge my charge card. Upon arrival we were given a room that was old, tired and in need of complete refurbishment. Because the tv didnt work right we informed the desk. They sent someone over to fix it but werent able to. The desk then gave us another room that was in much better condition. Dont get a room in the building across the street until its refurbished!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was very small and had an off smell to it. Beds were uncomfortable. Ice machine didn't work, no liners for the ice bucket and the bucket was dirty. Unusually a good hotel chain but this one was less then satisfactory.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good balance between price, location and room"
Room was OK, nice location, walking distance from downtown. Included an OK breakast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay was perfect. The room was good, the staff very friendly. I could walk to the shops and restaurants. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"rat nest in the air conditioner"
I booked the room based on photos provided by comfort inn on their website. The reality was an absolute nightmare. The room was tiny with the bathroom sink next to the bed. The bed spread was covered in old stains. The electric outlet tripped every time we used it. The air conditioner blew warm air, and upon closer inspection, a large collection of […] rat feces was seen in the outlet fins. The room above us was being remodeled/repaired. The construction crew began their work before 7:00 am. We left early the next day, just wanted to get home and wash away the stench of this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Watch out for annex building x street from main ho"
Been traveling for over 30 days. Poorest value for the money yet. Was stuck in annex building across street from main hotel. This is a 50s hotel. Rooms smaller than average. Nonsmoking room. Nite stand broken and had cigarette burns. No ice bucket. No matter ice machine broken. Chose this hotel because it had a gym. Gym "under renovation". Travelodge […] across street much better value. "Great place to stay for a great price!"
Great hotel close to downtown, easy walk. Price was great. I stayed at the San Luis Creek Lodge the night before, which is a much "nicer" hotel, but for the price and the amount of time you should be spending in your room when you are in San Luis, Comfort Inn rocks! Staff was awesome, room was clean, what more do you want?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice Hotel...good location...good bedsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is great in that it is within walking distance of downtown. The single queen room is nicer than the double queen room in which the microwave, refrigerator, and electrical outlets should be updated. Access to wifi is a necessary plus. My only complaint is that they always run out of breakfast food and is not replenished in a timely manner. […] Also there was a fire on the third floor, which set of a horrendous fire alarm, necessary, but they should've somehow offered some form of compensation or inconvenience apology to the guests. Very nice stay / very friendly staff. We noticed a problem with a fridge in my room (which is super important for us since we need it for our baby's milk). When we mentioned about that at the front desk, and we got a new room right away. Great location - 10 minutes wak to downtown restaurants though to get back to the hotel, we took taxi (it was $10 […] with tips) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"decent place to stay"
This place has a lot of things going for it. Location ideal to downtown SLO, service very good, etc. However there were a few things that made us wonder. The gap between the carpet threshold area in our specific room had the spikes exposed, the shower was poor in design and function, and the bathroom was about the size of the hotel room sleeping area. […] Wasted space. These "complaints" are minimal I think, but something to consider if you are picky. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was pleasant, room was dated, and bed lumpy. Toilet sounded like a jet taking off or launching of a torpedo. Breakfast was more than I had expected but not enough seating, had to eat standing up one morning because all tables were taken (no food allowed out of area).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dirty in San Luis Obispo"
While the overall facility is okay, two significant problems arose during this visit: (1) the shower didn't operate properly when we arrived, and (2) the room was very crowded with too much furniture in it. After contacting the front desk about the shower, it took several hours to get it fixed (a 5-minute repair). In the meantime, we had to go to a […] different room to take showers. To correct the room space, they need to have less stuff in it (e.g. lose the desk, or put a smaller bed in it). "Comfort Inn: the bad and the good."
Originally we were given a room across the street in their annex that looked more like a Motel 6 room; however, since there was no electricity in the living space, we went back to the office and they did a free upgrade without asking to a very nice room in the main bldg. It was up to the Comfort Inn standards. The staff was good about recommendations […] and the upgrade. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very conveniently located hotel at the north end of Monterey street, only 15 minute walk to downtown. Nice and quiet after I remembered to close the window! Stairways to rooms are in strange locations, but otherwise no complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Way to early"
My gf and I checked into our room and the front desk agent was really nice. Got to the room went in and was very un happy. First room was filthy dirty!!! Moved to another room dirty but not as dirty. Settled in and then we heard banging and scraping called the front desk oh sorry they are doing construction on the room above us.. This was a good accommodation for my family and me for my daughter's wedding nearby. We did have a problem with the phones not working at all to call the front desk with an emergency situation. We pulled up and thought what a nice place. The lobby was nice and clean. It was a Sunday night so there weren't many people there. We were put in another building across the street, (keep in mind, the main hotel was not even half full). There was no one else in this other building and the room didn't have towels or anything in it. We were next to the […] maid’s room, so they provided what we needed. The room itself was in quite a state of shoddy and incomplete repair. There were nails sticking up from in the carpet, the walls paint was peeling, the bathroom was a mess... you get the idea. So about 10:00 that night they put someone else in our dark spooky building, and guess where they put them, yep right above us. Of course you must have figured out that the floors squeak as well. What the heck, there is no one else in this building and the main hotel is not even close to half full! I cannot believe that Comfort Inn would allow their name to be put on such a place. Needless to say, we will not be staying there again. There are many other hotels nearby! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great price for a clean quiet hotel."
It was exactly what I paid for. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. More than I expected. Love the waffles, eggs and sausage. Close to Cal Poly Dan Luis Obispo and downtown. I have stayed in every hotel in town that charges less than $125 for a nights stay and this by far is the best in that lower price range.Genuine Expedia guest review

"FROM DISAPPOINTED TO DELIGHTED"
Upon check-in the room we received was like walking into a Motel 6 (totally disappointed); but after the first night and a problem with the room/amenities we were moved to a different room and ended up being in a room that was what we expect from a Comfort Inn. Our stay was a complete turn around from the first night, thank you. If we had been in the […] initial room the entire stay we would never consider staying here again, but knowing that the rooms are not all like the Motel 6 quality we would stay here again and ask to see the room first. "So So Hotel."
Unfortunately, the "Quality" Inn and Suites does not have much when it comes to Quality... I'd say that this hotel is good if you are looking for a place to sleep overnight on the way through California. Otherwise, I'd try to find a different place. The room we booked was supposed to be one of the "Larger Deluxe Rooms" but it was possibly to smallest […] hotel room I've been in. The drawers in the room didn't even have handles on them and the bathroom had straggling hair on the counter left over from someone else. The bed was decently comfortable, and we felt safe in the area, but coming from another hotel on the coast with a wonderful room, we definitely got hit with a dose of reality and had the opportunity to look forward to getting back home for the next night. The breakfast is pretty standard, and not too tasty. The location is decent, but there are probably eight to ten other hotels lined up on the same street. If you can find another place for close to the same $$ I'd suggest going elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just Fine for a short stay"
We arrived late in the evening and the fellow at the front desk was most helpful. The room was smaller than I'd expected, given that we had a "larger" queen-bed room. There wasn't room for more than the bed, a desk, two night stands, and a television. But it was clean and cozy. Breakfast the next day was not so good, because the space is so small that […] there aren't enough tables for everyone to be seated. We waited a few minutes until a table cleared, plates in hand, but by then the eggs had gotten cold. Still and all, it was perfectly fine for our short stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"you get what you pay for"
I paid very little so cant complain but will not stay again. We were in SLO for a CaL Poly event so at least we were close to campus. Our room was in the building across the street which was a bit run down. The room had an "old"smell but was clean. "convenient but faulty"
We've chosen this place since my daughter was going to drive to Santa Cruz and I was going back to San Diego on the Amtrak Surfliner the next day. The room was clean, we slept well but small complaints; microwave "start" switch did not work, shower curtain rod fell off. My daughter has food allergies and restrictions so we bring her food in a cooler […] and depend on microwave to heat it up. Did not want maintenance staff coming in and out at that point so she had to eat cold food. We understand the hotel rate is very reasonable but I would enjoy certain basic amenities to be in a proper working condition. Don't want to step in the shower and the curtain rod falling on you! The bed was very comfortable, like home. The shower curtain was torn and old. The room was nice and clean. The cleaning staff was eager to please. The fella at the desk, was Jed, and he was very very nice and eager to please. The others were ok. Jed helped us take things to our room, when we had our hands full and very friendly. The food in the breakfast […] was hot and fresh. The gals that worked in that area were sweet and also eager to please. The parking that we had was cool. Over all a great experience.
