Loved the room. Great location. Quiet. Very comfortable. Pool was too cold and kinda small, but the kids enjoyed it. Size of pillows on the bed were too big (too full) and we had some complaints of stiff necks in the morning, but we didnt call the front desk to see if they had different ones.

First time in hotel chain, room was great. Nice having separate rooms and main common area. Staff was very friendly and nice breakfast provided. Location is great to city if you want to run out for bite to eat or need something. Great location if visiting the university. Will definitely stay again!

Figured it would be a same-old typical hotel. Upon entrance, the decor was elegant yet welcoming. The personnel were very pleasant and helpful but not fake. The room was great. Very clean and cozy. Had great amenities. Wished I could have stayed for a week and taken advantage of more the amenities.

This hotel was a great place to stay. The rooms had ample space for everything you need. The one bedroom suite had a livng room area adjoining a kitchenette with a large table/desk separating the two. Ample towels were provided in the large bathroom. The forced air heating and A/C unit was much quieter and controlled the room temp much better than the […] typical under window style unit. The hotel was very quiet and close to everything, especially Iowa State U. An Old Chicago restaurant adjoined the hotel and could be accessed without going outside. I'm regularly a Best Western user, but this hotel was better than almost any BW we've ever stayed at. We'll be back here whenever we're in Ames. Read more

I was in town for an interview at ISU, and decided to "splurge" (for me...) on a nicer hotel. Found this one through hotel.com, and was very pleasantly surprised! Full kitchenette (including DISHWASHER), separate bedroom, TV in both livingroom and bedroom, Chicago Bar restaurant attached to hotel (delivery to room!), laundry on main floor, access to […] Anytime Fitness (free passes for all guests), pool, and HOT breakfast served 6-10am! That is just off the top of my head. On top of great amenities, the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. AND accommodating--without any issue, they let me check out at noon (usual check-out is 11am), since I was going to be hitting the road after my interview, and was hoping to have a place to change, go to the bathroom, etc. Would highly recommend!!! This hotel was located close to dining and some shopping. It was easy to access from the freeway and main city streets. The bedroom had a nice seating area/kitchenette. I felt the bed was a bit uncomfortable. I plan on staying there again when I visit Ames.

We enjoyed staying here between Christmas and New Years. It was quiet, comfortable and pretty clean. Except for the hot tub -- we turned on the jets and it overflowed with the wrong kind of bubbles. The kind that show it hasnt been cleaned well. otherwise it was a good place to stay with kids.

This hotel is immediately off Hwy 30 on South Duff, with lots of restaurants and retail shopping within half-mile or so of the hotel. Staff is great, hotel is very clean and comfortable.

The beds are very comfortable and the free morning breakfast is really tasty!! The staff is very friendly and it is connected to "Old Chicago" which is always a plus! Nice pool. It is the only place my family stays at when we go to see our son who lives in town.

The hotel was very clean, great free breakfast and sitting area in the lobby. Very willing to accomodate requests for things like extra towels. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit! The indoor pool is very small but relaxing.

Hotel was clean, the room was spacious and comfortable and the service was great. The continental breakfast was also good with a fair variaty. The only thing I'd complain about was the clenliness of the tiny pool and hot tub. It was over clorinated and very small.

Customer service could be improved. The staff was never at the front desk and were not very helpful when I had concerns. The rooms needed to be repainted or cleaned. There were scuff marks all over the walls and paint peeling in the bathroom due to moisture. When I checked in there was a used dental floss pick on the lamp table. When I complained I […] only received an appology and the front desk clerk saying, "I need to get a glove to pick that up." Gross. That should have never happened. The management response was, "we will make sure your room is extra clean tomorrow and the cleaning staff must have been in a hurry."
