"wonderful little hideaway."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
small, quiet complex within close proximity to restaurants and shopping..used the complimentary bike rentals, pool and spa. nice variety of continental breakfast items. was able to extend the checkout time a bit. bed was comfortable and bathroom was a good size. the noise and smell of the food from the mexican restaurant next door was a bit distracting if you were out by the bar or firepit in the evening.

see all hotels in Palm Springs"conveniently located"
A really horrible hotel with unwillingness to accommodate their guests. We were placed in a room with a very loud knocking noise. Because my friend didn't want to disturb me, we didn't request another room until 4:30 am. There was absolutely no effort by the hotel to provide any compensation whatsoever We were also told we could find food by the pool. […] Not so. There were no attendants available to provide any service at all. Find another hotel This one is nothing like we expected. Read more

"Nice Hotel But Check In Process Was Terrible"
The hotel is nice and is located in a great area of Palm Springs. However, after checking in, we had to wait 2 hours in the lobby before our hotel room was cleaned and ready. It was certainly disappointing in that regard. The room we had was nice but we could tell that housekeeping had rushed to clean the room as some things seemed dirty.
"A leftover muffin in our room"
Service was good. About the only downside was it was dirty. There was a leftover muffin in the room...gross! And hair on the walls of the shower double gross!
"Probably would not go back again..."
I did not have much option as far as hotels the weekend I went. I booked with this hotel because it was the best deal I could get. When we got there, they did not tell us there was going to be a resort fee. On top of that, when we got our bill, they charged us even more for the use of utilities. Also, there was not the best parking. It was either pay […] for valet parking, or we had to park at the back of the hotel on the street. Between the hidden fees, and the horrible parking arrangements, I probably wouldn't go back again. Also, It was very difficult to get in and out of the hotel because it is located on a one way street. Other than that, the rooms were nice, and the bed was comfortable. Read more
"The need new mattresses"
Everything in the hotel was great, except the mattress. Like most hotels in the US, they think that the softer, the better. You literarily couldn't sleep on that mattress, you sank right into it. VERY bad for your back, I woke up being sore.
Extremely horrible service. Will never stay there again with the rude service provided. Booked two rooms and requested to be near each other and near handicap accessibility for both but instead rooms where on opposite sides of resort and not near handicap access and front desk receptionist "Penelope" was unmentionabily and rude and unpleasant with unmeasurable […] attitude. "Lousy Pool area"
Extremely small pool with no umbrellas for shade. It was too hot to bake in the sun with no shade. They said it is too windy for umbrellas, but the Hilton across the street has multiple umbrellas.
"Make Palm Springs walkable"
Hotel Zoso is one of the more convenient locations in the heart of Palm Springs. From the weekly market on Thursday evenings to the convenience of local restaurants, not to mention the near by Palm Springs Museum of Art.
"Great location"
Zero night life at the hotel. For such a cool hotel pool closes at 10 bar is boring nothing at all going on. Restaurant is dead order ur food at the pool. They have a great veggy burger. They need to hire a staff that lookes like the hotel.
"great hotel in p.s."
Wonderful
"The Hotel Needs More Workers"
They did not have our room ready when we arrived, but they did have the room for our son. Our room was to be ready by 4:00pm as we had to attend the funeral of our dearly beloved aunt at 5:00pm. We did not know that there was a resort fee per room, plus a parking fee. When we finally got to our room I noticed that the vent for the air in the ceiling […] was all wet and the paint was falling off, also the carpet was wet where the condensation fell. After returning to our room the carpet was still wet. I would never recommend this hotel to any one! Read more
"Strange dynamic"
Waited 20 minutes in line to check in. Treated rudely by front desk on several occasions. However the rest of the staff were awesome and the hotel was fantastic. I never complain but i would not stay again because of the front desk and managers.
It was a brief stay. I was very unhappy with the surcharges the hotel charged.I would have stayed elsewhere had I known.

"Don't stay if you need internet"
The hotel claims "Rooms feature ... complimentary wireless Internet acces", but when I checked in they said wireless is only 'guaranteed' in lobby. I went on business and could get no wireless in my room. I had to sit in the lobby with a bunch of playing children and drunks from the bar while trying to get some work done. They force you to pay the fee […] for internet disguised as a resort fee and would not refund it. Stay somewhere else. There are better places within a block. Read more
"Suprisingly very nice hotel"
Don't expect Vegas quality - but I'd say its approaching that level - good value for the money for sure!
"Poor value, but super nice staff!"
Our room was large & clean with decent amenities, but wasn't as luxurious as the cost would lead you to believe. The lobby smelled bad (sort of like rotten broccoli)! Pool was less than average - small and only 4 ft. deep. The location is great! Shopping & restaurants within easy walking distance.

"Great place to stay in Palm Springs!"
My wife and I stayed here as a little get away for the two of us. It happened to be the same weekend as the Coachella festival. We had a great time here. The hotel is an older hotel, but it's been refurbished. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. The pool area is obviously a party scene usually, but as it was Coachella it was pretty tame.....we […] enjoyed the pool area. One of the big pleasant surprises was the restaurant. They offer 50% off for Hoyle guests. We decided to eat breakfast there the first morning and it was PERFECT. Eggs Benedict, Lox and Bagels, eggs over easy with bacon and sausage....all was perfectly prepared. We enjoyed it so much we came back on the second morning! Kudos to the chef at the restaurant and the entire wait team.....you won't be disappointed in staying at Hotel Zoso....it's not a 5 star hotel, but is on par with some of the other big names in Palm Springs (Hilton, Hyatt, etc.). "They charge for a resort fee not included here"
The hotel was nice, but internet did not work. We were charge $15 above Hotels.com as a resort fee which included used of internet. Not really sure what we were paying for. It made the price no better than others in the area.
"One of the worst hotels ever."
The pool is smaller than any other place in Palm Springs, they would need a pool two times as big in order to meet the guest requirements of the hotel. The lobby bathroom has a broken door, the hotel rooms had water spots when I came in. My blow-dryer was broken and loud noise in the room. It is like a prison when I needed to have a key everywhere I […] went. No self parking, too many unnecessary fees which they slide under the door when you wake up. Hidden chargers like ulitily fees which you pay for when you buy the hotel, just not at this place. No bathroom at the pool and the staff is unfriendly. Read more

"Great service and location"
My daughter and I stayed here two nights for the Coachella Music Festival. Everything near Indio was sold out months before. We were really there just to sleep. The hotel is stylish and neat, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to great restaurants and bars in downtown Palm Springs. I have no complaints other than the beds; they […] were slightly firm and industrial. Other than that, our stay was perfect. We'd definitely stay here again. Read more
"Hotel Zoso"
Nice hotel, we liked the modern look. Only complaint we really had was that the pool is very small and only 4 ft deep. My kids like a deeper pool, so they were a little bummed about the size.
"Not worth it!"
We were quite disappointed. This is our first review as we felt we had to share. The big thing for us was no shade whatsoever offered in the pool area. We were with our young child and at 90 degrees during the day the only shade was renting the Cabanas for a daily price of what we paid for the room. Come on! This is basic! I would have paid for the […] Cabanas if they were offered for an hourly rate. while we were there most of them were empty. Such a waist! When we asked and complained about this it was clear no one cared! Don't be mislead by the low room price! Its not worth it. Read more

"Hotel Zoso for your Coachella Weekend Stay"
Good option for those attending Coachella and seeking a quiet, comfortable and affordable alternative to camping. Lounge at the pool or enjoy downtown palm springs before heading to the festival grounds. Tips, avoid valet parking by parking your car in the street behind the hotel for free. Watch out for late check out fees. $15 daily resort fee, so […] make sure to use the pool! Read more

"great location, large comfortable rooms"
Everything was fantastic with the stay, with the exception of the check-in time, which ended being almost 4:30 PM, as rooms took all afternoon to be cleaned. I was upgraded to a suite however at no charge, which made it worth the wait. Normal check-in is 4 (which is late for the industry) so this was not overly late, but it deserves mention, as generally […] I haven't had to wait for a clean room this long at most hotels, and it may affect arrival plans for some. Once checked in, I have to say the hotel is excellent. Read more
"Not a Four-Star Hotel"
Hotel Zoso was disappointing overall. The staff was generally unfriendly and slow. I asked the valet if I could call ahead to have my car ready instead of waiting five to ten minutes, but they don't do that. There were room service discards in my hallway in front of the same room literally all day until I alerted the front desk. Our room was ok, but […] the bed appeared lumpy upon our arrival and there was a shoe print on one of the pillows! The patio was weird, a huge concrete area with only a small table and two chairs. Not much of a view. The bar and restaurant were continuously deserted throughout our entire stay. The resort fee and mandatory valet parking fee, though expected, we're annoying. We will not stay here again. Read more
"chic and convenient"
A pretty nice, contemporary hotel. The pool area's decor is nice and so are the rooms' decor. The hotel is close to the main street in Palm Springs. We walked around on a Thursday night during the weekly street fair.
Hotel was overall nice but the interior of the rooms were somewhat worn. Wallpaper was coming off the walls in certain areas and the furniture was warn. The elevator was dirty and the door was very slow to open and close and it sounded like the motor was wearing out. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

"excellant choice"
beautiful hotel in downtown. close to everything. rooms very nice
"worst hotel ever"
The place is like a prison, you need a key to get anywhere in the hotel. No self park, low staffed, water marks in rooms, broken doors in lobby restrooms, small pool for a big hotel, hidden charges on top of resort fee. Horrible place, avoid at all cost.

"Hidden Costs"
This hotel is mediocre at best. There isn't anything "wrong" with it but there also isn't anything "right" about it either. And for the price in comparison to the surrounding hotels there should be more things done at an outstanding level. In addition, they charge a "resort fee" on top of the stated room rate. This is reducilous since there isn't an […] option not to use the "resort" items...which consist of slow wifi, a two cup coffee maker that we had to ask them to bring to the room, a small workout room that had very little equipment, and access to the pool. I would have preferred to have them build these costs into the stated room rate instead of feeling ripped off by paying an additional charge. Which leads to the issue of the valet parking. Again, an additional charge, which they messed up on the bill and needed to correct at checkout. I understand that many hotels charge for parking but let me self park so I don't have to tip on top of the charge. Forcing us to valet adds to the cost each time the car is needed. In short, I didn't find this hotel to be a good value. It's dated décore and hidden costs will send me to a competitor for my next visit to Palm Springs Read more
"excellent"
staff was very friendly and room were very nice and spacious
"In heart of city"
Great hotel! Room was large and comfortable. Lots of amenities like nice exercise room, good restaurant (it was also inexpensive when we were there, with half price breakfast), and wonderful location in the heart of the city. One warning: No parking except valet parking, but there was plenty of free parking on the street just behind the hotel.
"Great Place, would stay again!"
Great hotel and an even better location, close to everything. room was outstanding! A very large and private patio. Pool was busy but the staff working in the pool were very attentive and helpful and made every effort to see to our needs. I was aware of the 'hidden' charges ie..resort fee, parking ect...only by reading the reviews prior to check-in. […] i would like to suggest that the hotel simply integrate these fees into the room prices. the room, service and location of the hotel are worth the additional room costs and the patrons would be less likely to object if these lumped in at point of purchase. "Girls' weekend getaway"
Comfy hotel, helpful staff, decent pool area and walkable to local restaurants and bars. We had a fun and relaxing girls' weekend getaway at Zoso.
"Zoso, Not-so"
First of all it's a beautiful property. Everything looks great from the lobby to the pool area & hallways. We arrived before normal check in time so our room wasn't ready which I understood. We wanted to get our bags checked in so we could go explore the city but after 10 minutes no one came so we had to ask again. This showed us the hotel was very […] understaffed. Hours later we came back to the hotel & got our bags, everything was good. Soon after in the room I ran a bath & to my surprise there were a few hairs in there. Also in the AM the door was knocked on 5 times, while on vacation I expect to be able to sleep in. Why do they bug us to get out at 10am when check out time is noon? I'd expect setbacks like this from a "regular" hotel but this seemed like a 4+ Star establishment. All in all I expected more from all the great reviews. They just seemed understaffed, which makes no sense as they charge plenty for the rooms. Read more
"Excellent on all counts!"
Hotel Zoso exceeded all my expectations. The check-in was friendly and fast, and the room itself was spacious and in great shape. Valet parking was also not that bad as some reviews have claimed. The pool was also smaller than I would have liked, but still great. The pool view including the mountains was fantastic! My only complaint would be that some […] noise from the hall and adjacent room could be heard via the door. Read more

"Don't stay here to spend time by the pool."
The jacuzzi had a layer of mold or grime all around it and the pool is tiny. Also, they blast really annoying and bad music at the pool, destroying any possibility of relaxation. The lobby was pretty but smelled like they have a sewage problem. The rooms are large but have the cheapest carpeting and no mimifridge/bar.
