"Location and Staff"
Across the street from the waterside, the location of this hotel is perfect. An easy walk to anywhere in town, including the Waterford Crystal factory, there is free parking, bar and restaurant, and lovely staff. The room is typically plain with no air circulation but a fan was brought to the room within minutes of my request. The bathroom was perfectly […] clean and modern and bright. Beds were comfortable. Although there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, the hotel’s in-house bar and restaurant are pleasant with good food, service, and prices. Although I didn’t use the fitness facilities, there’s a nice indoor pool and gym. The outstanding aspect of this establishment is the staff at the counter. They went out of their ways to help guide me where needed. Yes, I would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
No a/c in rooms and no wifi in room. Requested a fan and they brought it but still warm. Food was average in restaurant. Wifi only worked in lobby areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
We come home to Waterford every year but this is the first time using this hotel and location is the best. Its all walking distance to everything. If it wasnt for the Saturday wedding, we would have stayed at the Tower for 4 straight night instead of only 2 nights. We had to book and stay at another Waterford hotel and we were not happy. We will definetely […] stay at the Tower again. Caroline at the front desk was very helpful. The only issue is the parking- very tight when there's conventions same time. Other than that, its perfect. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was great - the only bad thing was there was cigarette smoke somehow getting into our room on the 3rd floor so that was a bit miserable. The room itself was much larger than I was expecting and plenty of great amentities that unfortunately we didn't have time to use, but it is practically next door to the Waterford crystal factory which was […] our destination, so it was perfect! "Disappointing Leisure Facilities"
Hotel is good overall, with good service, good size and well equipped room. Only had breakfast which was good. However, we booked with the view to using the hotel's leisure facilities. These facilities (or lack of?!) were very disappointing. The sauna was out of order (which were not informed of at anytime, until we had changed and tried to use. The […] jacuzzi had virtually no bubbles. The steam room was just a few green garden chairs thrown into a tiled small tiled room, which had virtually no steam. The changing rooms were very small and cramped. The showers only worked for a few seconds then switched off. The hand basins didnt work. However, the swimming pool was fine. "Great if you don't want food and drink!"
The hotel itself was fine. Reception staff lovely and housekeeping staff lovely. But our stay was very badly let down by the bar and waiting staff. We initially tried to have lunch in the bar. But after asking for menus, asking for someone to take our order and a wait of fifteen minutes and getting neither. We left. The bar that night was no better. […] As for trying to order a small bite to eat we gave up again and after three drinks went back up to our room. I have stayed in the tower before but was very dissatisfied with my stay this time round. Would think again about booking here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"okay could use some upgrade"
We enjoyed being in downtown Waterford. Our main intent was to be able to enjoy some Irish music at a central place so we did not have to drive. There was a band at the hotel that evening and we checked early in the afternoon with someone in the bar to ensure that the music would be Irish traditional. We stayed for dinner and waited for the band knowing […] it would be full, to our great disappointment the band played Louisianna polka music. Their name was Polka 2 I believe, I had indicated this to the women earlier, she said no this band plays traditional Irish. We were very disappointed as this was our only night in Waterford. Stayed for two nights, staff very helpful, room was clean, car parking available. Leisure centre was good. Breakfast was fine. We had bar food on one evening - portions were very small. Hotel was close to centre of town and we went shopping one evening. We also visited Waterford Glass which is very close to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, great location"
Well located city centre hotel, close to all the amenities Waterford has to offer. Very good bar, restaurants and excellent breakfast. Attentive staff. Would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is nice, reception staff very accommodating but bar staff were unfriendly. The bar staff would put me off staying again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attended a business in this hotel"
The staff are it's asset. Each and everyone of them were more than friendly and helpful. I found the beds hard and there was no place to relax also, as both chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. The toilet tissue was of pure quality as were the toiletries. I probably would stay again, but I would up-grade to a suite to see if that would make a […] difference. It is on,y a 3 star and is a good distance from a 4 star. "Good City location"
Rooms are good and clean but room service was not carried out for some reason. Towels replaced after asking. Not enough staff in the bar to do food and drinks in the evenings. Cooked breakfast is serve yourself from a hot buffett which has a ridiculous amount of lids to replace and remove. Queues quickly build up. Again not enough staff seem to be working […] in the breakfst room for tea and coffee requests. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tower Hotel Waterford worth a visit"
My wife and I needed a hotel in Waterford City for a recent overnight stay, and found the Tower Hotel on the Expedia.ie website. The hotel had an excellently-valued bed-and-bed breakfast offer during January and February. The room was comfortable, and included the very welcome teas-maid. The well-equipped inhouse leisure centre, free to residents, was […] most enjoyable and not overcrowded. The bar on the night of our stay was lively, with live music provided. The staff (particularly the Reception staff) were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was freshly made and very tasty. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was spotless and hotel was in a great location. Car park at the back was busy and is on a first-come-first-served basis, so get there early. We didn't use the leisure centre so cannot comment. Overall, a very pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Waterford central hotel"
We were initially given a smelly, run down room featuring a shower with no pressure but were moved upon our request. Our new room was much better, overlooking the port, was bigger and modernised with visible wear and tear. As long as you a room like the ones advertised in the online photos this is a good stay. Buffet is ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Relatively comfortable hotel in the city centre. Difficult to get parking as the car park was full when we arrived, eventually did but was a little hassle! "Nice Hotel but busy"
01/19/15 Groarked Roscommon, Ireland
I had a disappointing experience at the 'Adelphi Riverside' Bar, the hotel's main bar. The Staff were friendly but seemed to be run off their feet. Service was very slow but food was good when it arrived. Many Hotel bars seem to be understaffed particularly in the evenings. I blame the Management. I had to go to the bar to order dessert and after waiting 10 mins or so I gave up and paid the Bill. The 'Smart' room's are nice and what you would expect from a four star hotel with a nice comfy bed. I didn't like the twin room, which had a very hard plank like bed. The pool is nice and large but the changing areas were rather small. Most of the pool and gym area users seemed to be local members rather than hotel guests and unexpectedly It was quite busy at peak after-work time when I attended. Hotel is in a great central location and easily accessible by car.

A wonderful hotel with good food, clean rooms and a friendly helpful staff. Would absolutely stay here again. Close to shopping, sightseeing and just down the street from the world famous Waterford Crystal factory.
"We were pleasantly surprised."
We visited Waterford in December for Winterval and booked a family room in the Tower Hotel due to it's city centre location. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Our three daughters were delighted with the spacious family room, loved the pool and were well catered for throughout, which made our stay very relaxing. The bar food was excellent and reasonably priced. Damien and his staff were friendly and most helpful. The hotel was busy but with a great atmosphere throughout, in fact it was buzzing. We will be back. Sean and Sharon Hickey Cork.
"Good Rooms, Lovely Food"

stayed for a two night stay early in Jan 15. Lovely staff, very family friendly. Would recommend it for all. Restaurant is very nice. Food of excellent standard. Rooms clean, good size. Swimming pool area good. Very centrally located to go to town centre. Would recommend this hotel and will be back for a short break again this year.
"My best family break"
It's our first time staying here and we will definitely be back. Our experience has been faultless. We upgraded to John Roberts suite on arrival for our sanity as we have two toddlers and they needed space to run around and a separate tv etc especially as the weather was bad and this also allowed us to dine in the room. There are three large windows with great views of the city and the river, boats , it's addictive to sit on that window and watch the world go by. The breakfast was very good with a good range of hot and cold food. We also had lunch here and there was a lovely atmosphere in the bar, busy but relaxed. The food tasted good and staff in the bar and throughout the hotel were very friendly. The peoples park is just around the corner with 2 kids outdoor play areas which are well designed and a very unique coffee shop with the most superb selection of cakes etc. Shops are a close walking distance to the hotel which is ideal with small kids as they moan after too much walking. There is a lovely walk on the quay beside the river. Definitely lots to offer us. We live 30 mins from Waterford and never realised it has so much to offer. It is a wonderful city and the people are so friendly. I always update my trips as it's too easy to just update when you have had a bad experience and forget the good ones. I am going home refreshed and happy.
"Location, etc, etc."

Last July I was pleased to treat my entire family, wife, Denise, adult kids, Sean and Megan and son-in-law, Charlie, to a trip to Ireland. Our first stop, after Dublin, was the town of Waterford in Ireland's Southeast. We relied on European Destinations to help plan our getaway and the hotel they chose for us was the Tower. As always I have very basic needs when it comes to hotels. I simply need the rooms to be clean, the beds to be comfortable (not necessarily luxurious) and the location to be convenient. We could not have been more pleased with the Tower Hotel in Waterford. All of the above needs and more were met. The staff were friendly, the bar and food services were excellent and the location was perfect. The hotel sits on the waterfront right along the old quays of the city. It lies directly across from the landmark for which it is named, Reginald's Tower, an ancient Viking stronghold. Museums, restaurants, pubs and the beautiful Waterford Glassworks are all within a stone's throw. If you hop in the car, many sites are easily reached: the Ancient City Walls of Waterford; The Rock of Cashel; Cahir Castle; and the beautiful beach at Tramore. If cleanliness, comfort and convenience meet your hotel needs, the Tower Hotel in Waterford meets and exceeds those needs.
"Excellent to wine & dine!"

I recently had the pleasure of organising a staff Christmas party on Friday 12th December at the Bistro Restaurant in the Tower Hotel, for 32 people. From my initial enquiry, through to the night itself, both Michael and Jonas were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They were so professional, friendly, and could not do enough for me or the rest of the party. From the moment we arrived on the night, the service we received was second to none. The surroundings inside were beautifully festive and got us in the spirit! All of our party absolutely LOVED the menu, there was something for everyone... It was fantastic value for money, the choice was amazing and the dishes themselves are more than worthy of the Tower's AA Rosette! We were so well looked after, both Management and staff catered to our every need, happily taking care of special dietary requirements in some instances. Even though the hotel was very busy with lots of other party goers and diners, the service we received was 5 star!! A big thank you to all at the Tower! :)
"Cold, Loud & Uncomfortable"
01/02/15 Niall M Ashbourne, Ireland
We don't get away too often on our own but decided to get a night away in Waterford, the Tower hotel is where we picked. Checked in fine, our room wasn't ready do we said we'd be out for lunch/shopping and would collect our room keys on return. I received a call 2 weeks prior to confirm our booking and to tell us that the hotel would be busy as they had a wedding on so didn't mind this. Arrived back about 4 hours later and the corridor to our room was fairly cold, the night previous had been -5c out i think and this night was just as cold. Opened the room door to be met with a numbing cold. The window in the room wide open and curtains open, it was the same temperature outside as in the room and the radiator was off. Managed to turn the radiator on but it took about an hour to get even mildly warm, we were wrapped up under the bedsheets and watched some tv for a bit as we had an hour to kill before dinner. Dinner was fine, nice main but both desserts had very generous (and unneeded) helpings of coulis on them and the ice cream was straight from the freezer and extremely hard. Now where to start on the rest of the night.... The room had started to warm slightly by the time we got back after dinner Firstly my side of the bed sloped towards the middle, no matter how hard i tried it was just uncomfortable, i got over that. Once the wedding music started it kept us awake all night. Why would any hotel with more than 1 floor put non wedding guests almost directly over the function room on the next floor up???? 2 or 3 other floors up there for people that aren't there to enjoy the wedding music, we may as well have been in the room with them we could hear it that loud and clearly. After a terrible sleep we headed early for breakfast to avoid the wedding crowd. Maybe 10 other people down at the same time for breakfast so wasn't busy. Fry was your average hotel buffet fry up. Wife asked for the "Selection of Cold Meats and Cheeses" to which 2 servers had no clue what she was asking for even though it was on a breakfast menu? What arrived out to her was something like you'd have to make lunch for someone working on a site all day, 4 slices of bread and a toaster bag was all that was missing..... I had to take a pic of the meat and cheese selection. All in all a terrible night away, slight saving grace was the staff were friendly, front desk, accommodation staff and leisure centre staff all lovely, the waitresses at breakfast were clueless.

Going there for many years for family functions .first off all the staff were great as their were only three looking after full restraunt .rest were looking after a wedding the menu was limited and so were the portions, had to ask for side veg order and forgot kids desert as they were so busy ,will not be giving them business again sorry to say as is local hotel. On look out for different venue in future 25 year tradition going to tower will be no more
