"Location and Staff"
Across the street from the waterside, the location of this hotel is perfect. An easy walk to anywhere in town, including the Waterford Crystal factory, there is free parking, bar and restaurant, and lovely staff. The room is typically plain with no air circulation but a fan was brought to the room within minutes of my request. The bathroom was perfectly […] clean and modern and bright. Beds were comfortable. Although there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, the hotel’s in-house bar and restaurant are pleasant with good food, service, and prices. Although I didn’t use the fitness facilities, there’s a nice indoor pool and gym. The outstanding aspect of this establishment is the staff at the counter. They went out of their ways to help guide me where needed. Yes, I would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
No a/c in rooms and no wifi in room. Requested a fan and they brought it but still warm. Food was average in restaurant. Wifi only worked in lobby areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
We come home to Waterford every year but this is the first time using this hotel and location is the best. Its all walking distance to everything. If it wasnt for the Saturday wedding, we would have stayed at the Tower for 4 straight night instead of only 2 nights. We had to book and stay at another Waterford hotel and we were not happy. We will definetely […] stay at the Tower again. Caroline at the front desk was very helpful. The only issue is the parking- very tight when there's conventions same time. Other than that, its perfect. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was great - the only bad thing was there was cigarette smoke somehow getting into our room on the 3rd floor so that was a bit miserable. The room itself was much larger than I was expecting and plenty of great amentities that unfortunately we didn't have time to use, but it is practically next door to the Waterford crystal factory which was […] our destination, so it was perfect! "Great if you don't want food and drink!"
The hotel itself was fine. Reception staff lovely and housekeeping staff lovely. But our stay was very badly let down by the bar and waiting staff. We initially tried to have lunch in the bar. But after asking for menus, asking for someone to take our order and a wait of fifteen minutes and getting neither. We left. The bar that night was no better. […] As for trying to order a small bite to eat we gave up again and after three drinks went back up to our room. I have stayed in the tower before but was very dissatisfied with my stay this time round. Would think again about booking here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"okay could use some upgrade"
We enjoyed being in downtown Waterford. Our main intent was to be able to enjoy some Irish music at a central place so we did not have to drive. There was a band at the hotel that evening and we checked early in the afternoon with someone in the bar to ensure that the music would be Irish traditional. We stayed for dinner and waited for the band knowing […] it would be full, to our great disappointment the band played Louisianna polka music. Their name was Polka 2 I believe, I had indicated this to the women earlier, she said no this band plays traditional Irish. We were very disappointed as this was our only night in Waterford. Stayed for two nights, staff very helpful, room was clean, car parking available. Leisure centre was good. Breakfast was fine. We had bar food on one evening - portions were very small. Hotel was close to centre of town and we went shopping one evening. We also visited Waterford Glass which is very close to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, great location"
Well located city centre hotel, close to all the amenities Waterford has to offer. Very good bar, restaurants and excellent breakfast. Attentive staff. Would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is nice, reception staff very accommodating but bar staff were unfriendly. The bar staff would put me off staying again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attended a business in this hotel"
The staff are it's asset. Each and everyone of them were more than friendly and helpful. I found the beds hard and there was no place to relax also, as both chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. The toilet tissue was of pure quality as were the toiletries. I probably would stay again, but I would up-grade to a suite to see if that would make a […] difference. It is on,y a 3 star and is a good distance from a 4 star. "Good City location"
Rooms are good and clean but room service was not carried out for some reason. Towels replaced after asking. Not enough staff in the bar to do food and drinks in the evenings. Cooked breakfast is serve yourself from a hot buffett which has a ridiculous amount of lids to replace and remove. Queues quickly build up. Again not enough staff seem to be working […] in the breakfst room for tea and coffee requests. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tower Hotel Waterford worth a visit"
My wife and I needed a hotel in Waterford City for a recent overnight stay, and found the Tower Hotel on the Expedia.ie website. The hotel had an excellently-valued bed-and-bed breakfast offer during January and February. The room was comfortable, and included the very welcome teas-maid. The well-equipped inhouse leisure centre, free to residents, was […] most enjoyable and not overcrowded. The bar on the night of our stay was lively, with live music provided. The staff (particularly the Reception staff) were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was freshly made and very tasty. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"In need of major renovation"
Poor condition, unpleasant smell in room, very dated furniture, tear in duvet cover. Just overall not very pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was spotless and hotel was in a great location. Car park at the back was busy and is on a first-come-first-served basis, so get there early. We didn't use the leisure centre so cannot comment. Overall, a very pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

the wetaher was stormy and raining, couldnt sleep as there was a roof outside bedroom on third floor and the rain kept dripping down onto it sounded like from a broken eave shoot, other than that our stay was great, but we lost sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Waterford central hotel"
We were initially given a smelly, run down room featuring a shower with no pressure but were moved upon our request. Our new room was much better, overlooking the port, was bigger and modernised with visible wear and tear. As long as you a room like the ones advertised in the online photos this is a good stay. Buffet is ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was ideally located, Staff were exceptionally pleasent and helpful. Swimming pool was an added bonus. Great food. Only downside was some guests remained in hallways for hours after a wedding function and made it impossible to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Relatively comfortable hotel in the city centre. Difficult to get parking as the car park was full when we arrived, eventually did but was a little hassle! Very welcoming reception team, who helped us out a lot. However, our main issue was noise at night. We had requested a quiet room, and although there was no wedding there was no stop chatter in the […] corridoor outside our room... The stairs and lifts were just outside our door.... We went specially for the winterval festival. The hotel is perfectly placed. Everything is on the doorstep. The rooms are good warm and airy. We had an adjoining room as our daughter son in law and granddaughter were with us. The staff were lovely and helpful. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in waterford.
"Fab staff and great location"

We came here for an early family Christmas and a family reunion. The staff were over helpful and we couldn't have had the weekend we had without them. I booked months earlier and all of the way up to the date the staff helped me plan a great family reunion recommending photographer Gerry o Carroll, in house beauticians and many more extras that made our stay a memorable one. Great location and busy spot offering great deals with exceptional staff. We will be returning again in the future and will be confident in knowing that the staff go the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable.
Stayed on a Monday night in December. Hadn't been here for a few years but was looking for a hotel with a gym. Newly renovated room was nice but fairly basic. Staff friendly & bar food was decent & good value. Leisure centre is good & the gym is small but perfectly adequate. Hotel has improved since my last visit & I will return.
"Lovely accommodating staff"

I had a really positive experience dining inthe restaurant here recently. I was dining with a group of 20 people and I thought the above we received was second to none. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and professional. I also called ahead because of my dietary requirements (vegan) and not only were they wonderfully accommodating to my needs, but the food I was served was also delicious and especially prepared for me. Overall very impressed and I look forward to another visit!
"A lovely stay"

TIP: We checked the price of the room on the hotel website, it was 155 euro per night, when we rang the hotel we were quoted 145 euro for the same "smart" room. Not sure if that's the case all the time but it worked for us. The Good - We arrived at the hotel carpark at 2pm on a very busy Saturday afternoon to find it full. However, the very helpful security guard who was directing the traffic in and out said it wouldn't be too long a wait. True to his word it was only a wait of 5 minutes. We were at reception approximately an hour before check in so we had no expectation that a room would be ready. To our surprise, not only was the room ready, but we'd also been given a complimentary upgrade to the bridal suite! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room (called the William Wallace Suite) was lovely. One room with a large couch and a dining area, looking out on the river at one side and Reginald's Tower on the other. The bedroom was large, the bed huge and a good bathroom. There were flat screen TVs in both rooms. Location wise the Tower Hotel is perfect, it's a few minutes walk into the City center, once we got the car into the carpark we didn't need it for the rest of the time we were there. There are very helpful signs in the lift showing quiet and busy times for breakfast in the restaurant. While it was busy we had no wait and we were shown immediately to a table. The not so good - I've read other reviews about noise, there were parties going on in the hotel but we didn't hear them. There is a nightclub directly across from the hotel, we didn't hear anything from that. We could hear people going in and out of their rooms but I'd expect that. From time to time there was noise which sounded like creaking floor boards above us (strange given that we were on the top floor) or furniture being dragged. It didn't happen that often but it was loud enough to wake us. The shower at 11.30 on Sunday morning was only lukewarm. There was plenty of hot water the evening before so it must have been a supply issue. Overall - I'd recommend this hotel to others visiting Waterford.

Arrived for the Winterval Festival on Friday Dec 5th for a two night stay with my wife and 7 month old son. Check-in was at three o'clock, and we arrived before this so couldn't check in when we arrived - no matter we sat in the bar for a while and had a drink. The reception staff were very good with helping us to store our bags in the storage room, and then removing them fifteen minutes later and organising a porter to help us to get them up to the room. The room itself was generously sized for a small family, generally clean, apart from some old staining on the carpet by the window, and a travel cot had been provided for the baby, by prior arrangement. Still, it was good to see that the cot had been put there before our arrival. The room was like a Sauna, with no way to control the temperature, apart from opening the window - which was pretty bad, this made it a very uncomfortable nights' sleep. Also, the mattress on the double bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, so with that and the extremely hot room a good sleep was pretty hard to come by. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were all friendly, helpful and couldn't have done any more to make our stay any more enjoyable - we had a seven month old with us and everyone interacted with him, spoke to him and talked back to him when he greeted them with a "Hiya!" The location of the hotel is so good, especially for the Winterval markets and most of the activities - short walk to the main shopping areas and drinking emporiums. Good hotel, but the heat in the room was a bit too much
"Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer"
12/03/14 Ann1943 Brisbane
My daughter and I stayed for one night at the Tower Hotel on our way to Dublin and it was so nice we wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were warm and welcoming and Mariena in particular was very helpful in finding us a room and giving us information about sights to see in the town. With our hotel card we were able to get a two for one ticket at the Waterford Crystal showroom and factory just around the corner, and my daughter made use of the excellent gym. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a view of the Suir River. The location of the hotel is excellent- within easy walk of so many of the attractions in Waterford. The hotel provides a car park at the rear of the hotel, but it is first come first served so we were fortunate to get a space, We would happily book into this hotel again.

Recently we hosted a national conference at the Tower Hotel in Waterford City. The attention to detail is amazing here. We were very happy with the choice of this hotel as were the delegates. Many having spoken to us since of the great hospitality they received. The food was excellent and the chef visited each table to check same. I would love to name staff but each and every one of you be very proud of this excellent service you deliver.

Havent reviewed a hotel before but think that this one deserves the best that i can give. Was in Waterford for the week on business and was a little anxious after being diagnoses with coeliac disease a few weeks previous. It was difficult at home but felt it would be worse on the road. Checked in, went to the room, showered, used the wifi ect ................. the whole lot and then went for food. Monday night menu. explained the gluten free dinners. Had the chicken, super. Tuesday night menu, explained the gluten free dinners, Had the cod, super. Was hungry and wanted a desert. Spoke with the waitress and explained my situation and had a beautiful desert. Wednesday menu, wasn't as clear but as soon as i explained my situation, the staff made the menu clear. Had a lamb curry. 11/10 Thursday night, again wasn't as clear, but again the staff were great. Had a long day with little to eat so they provided me with a special starter menu. Bruscetta and had the cod for mains. Maybe being a newly diagnoses coeliac is why i felt more appreciated or this is the norm. But this is a great hotel. Staff were great from reception, to bar, to leisure centre. If only they could buy the river and extend the car park!!!! Hope this is read to the staff. Thanks
