I normally do not complain....BUT..... we REALLY needed our sleep those 2 nights and it was impossible in this place. Nice hotel, but we will never stay again simply because it is a very loud and "echo-ey" hotel. No money went into soundproofing here. Zilch. Heavy, loud, banging doors absolutely all night long. Loud pipes above us - loud, loud, loud. […] If you need your sleep - don't stay here! (On a weekend anyway) We were here on a Fri and Sat nights and it will never happen again. Hotel is wonderful...very comfortable beds and pillows, clean, spacious room. We had a suite and we had 2 queens in one room with tv and a couch, desk, chair, tv, frig, mic in the sitting room which made it perfect with kids still sleeping!!!! I would highly recommend this motel!!!!

This hotel is nice, but the furnishings were very stark and modern. The pool area was small and there were no lounge chairs for relaxing. The exercise room was great! The first morning there we had plenty of fresh fruit for breakfast, but not on Sunday. The desk staff was WONDERFUL, very attentive and dressed so nicely and were helpful.

The guest staff was great from the moment we walked in. They had pack-n-play beds ready in the room before arrival. Breakfast was great and hot with waffles, eggs and muffins. We didn't use the pool but it was a great experience. We traveled from Minneapolis to Denver and it was worth the money.

We enjoyed being close to a very nice mall, restaurants and a movie theater. The room was comfortable, clean and nice, but not luxurious. A hot breakfast was provided with scrambled eggs, sausage along with bagels, muffins, cereal etc. The hot tub was hot! The pool and hot tub area was clean.

It was very good for the most part. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was quite good - waffles, eggs, ham, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, English muffins, juice, milk, coffee, tea, and even soy milk. I was looking forward to using the hot tub, but found it so overun with 12 year olds that there was really no room for adults, nor would any adults wish to join this group! Then, there was a mirror attached to the wall right by our window, and all night long, the parking lot light hit the mirror and was reflected right to my bed, and the curtain could […] not be made to meet the wall, so there was no relief to be found from the dadgum light! Other than that, the staff was very polite, and the location was terrific. There was not a lot of noise or anything else. My only other critique is that the decor was not particularly inspired, but that certainly did not lessen our experience in anyway. I would stay here again, but probably not as a first choice. The only thing that was not superb was that the housekeeping staff hadn't put shampoo in the bathroom, and room service was pretty late (I stayed two nights). Otherwise it's a really wonderful hotel, and convenient to an interstate, restaurants, and shopping.

Some hair in the bathroom, which seems to be the standard everywhere you go anymore. The HVAC system was very noisy. In between the cycles there was a loud ticking sound which was very annoying. Average hotel for an average price. There are many nicer hotels in the area, for about the same money.

We stayed overnight on our way to Kansas City. Clean, modern hotel with attractive decor, simple but nice work out facilities and pool. Rooms were very generously sized. Breakfast left something to be desired but we will stay again on our way thru!

This is a run of the mill mid priced hotel. Nothing offensive about it, nothing exceptional about it. The staff could use some better fitting uniforms--I know it sounds picky but the men at the desk, and I only saw men at the desk in five days, seemed to have sport coats a size too small or a size too large. They could all use some grooming tips and […] they could all do with a bit of polish. At the same time, I laud and compliment them on being welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. By the end of the second day, they knew my name and room number, which meant that if I wanted to grab a soda or other item and they were helping someone, I could wave it at them and they would take care of putting it on my room. This place is casual, really casual, so I felt comfortable taking my carry out meals to the dining area and watching TV while I ate. I have one complaint: the wifi is slow. SpringHill Suites are located in the right spot. I say this because the hotel is centrally located to many restaurants, shopping options and easy access to major highways - 35 & 80. I ended up staying there for one night - new year's eve 2011 - so, drink & driving wasn't an option. Although I was in Des Moines to meet friends - I live in Minneapolis […] - even my most directional challenged friends could/can find this Hotel. The service was excellent - Thanks Tyler (last name unknown) - who checked me in and signed me up for their "rewards" program - for being attentive to my needs and the safety of others. Safety of others? I need some ice and the ice machine floor was covered in water. Called Tyler, within minutes...safety signs were in place to warn others. Why is this a big deal? I almost fell because the water/lighting combo made it hard to see. The hotel was busier than normal (or so I assume because of New Year's Eve) - and tons of kids running means injury or harm is highly possible. My only complaint - is trivial - I just didn't like the layout of the suite (207)...it's a visual thing "feng shui" thing...but seriously, this hotel is in the right spot at the right price for a last minute deal. I'd go back there again. If all the employees are as helpful as Tyler...I would stay there everytime/anytime I'm in the Des Moines area. Read more

Room and hotel was fine. A bit disappointed that reservation request for adjoining rooms could not be honored, given 2 rooms were prepaid six weeks in advance. The term 'suite' suggested more room when the pullout bed was extended. Will definitely request two queen beds next time.
