"Nice hotel for the price"
I was most disappointed that it had no business center with computer access. The restaurant was too expensive to consider, but we found some local restaurants. The staff were all friendly and willing to help. The rooms were modern, the bathrooms very modern and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"surprise in Madrid"
The hotel was great. The staff were extemely nice. The location was a little different. There's nothing to do around there. There were restaurants about 2 blocks from the hotel. That was nice. They advertised as having a free shuttle to snd from the hotel. We arrived at the airport about 9:30 am. By the time we figured out that we had to call for a […] shuttle it was a little after 10am. Shuttle stopped running at 10am and we had to wait until 12:30pm before the van would come for us. They sent a woman thst didn't seem at all familia with the van or pick up. She didn't help with luggage or anything. when we tried to make reservations for the shuttle, the person at the hotel said the shuttle didn't run on the weekend and that we had to catch a cab. For 10 minutes away the cab charged us $37.5 Euros. That equalled $53.00 US dollars. We made our hotel selection based on the shuttle. Very disappointed about the shuttle. No swimming pool or hot tub.the exercise room very tiny in a basement that's hard to find. Other than that, the hotel itself was nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel and Great Service"
The hotel is located within a short work from the metro station las tablas with a direct line to plaza de espana. Journey time takes about 40 minutes in total. The area around the hotel is buzzing during the week with great restuarants and bars, but quiet during the weekend. Also a supermarket a short walk from hotel. The hotel service is excellent […] and my room was very comfortable with walk in shower. Overall I would give this hotel 5 stars but the wifi strength was quite poor (seems common issue for Spanish hotels!) and the english speaking TV channels didn't work. It's a good hotel for the price for a weekend stay in Madrid, if you dont mind using public transport to get in and out to Old Madrid.

This hotel is far from Madrid but there are many pub/bars near there. Rooms are clean well organised with a nice bathroom with crystal doors that probably not usefull if you use hydromassage shower. The restaurant have a limited dishes but looks corrects
"Far off hotel, but great staff"
08/04/14 siteg Turkey
For visitors of downtown Madrid, location of this otherwise decent hotel may not be very convenient. The closest metro station is 12-minute walk away. Once in train, you have to transfer twice: first, changing trains on the same platform but not the line (at Tres Olives), and a second one, to get on one of the more convenient lines taking you to the points of direct interst in the center - overall 45-60 minutes journey (train + walk) to the center. Metro runs till 2 a.m, but gets less frequent after 11 p.m. (every 20 minutes). The cleanleness of the rooms and especially the attitude of the hotel staff makes up for pat of this difficiency. They really went out of their way to help with some of our demands. Overall, this should be perfect if you are in Madrid for business, or else has driven here and does not care much about public transport.
"Comfortable stay for short visit"
07/04/14 Andrew050665 London, United Kingdom
I spent one night in this modernised hotel. Holiday Inn took over the hotel about a year ago and have updated it. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There is an OK bar on the ground floor that serves a variety of bar snacks in the evening if you don't have time to go out. Breakfast was included in my booking and was reasonable. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel and it has a good signal strength which makes downloading etc. less painful. The staff were polite and cheery. The hotel ticked all the boxes for a short business stay.
"No shuttle bus service"
06/27/14 lolas2011 London, United Kingdom
The website advertises that there is a complimentary bus shuttle service from the airport to the hotel on weekdays. However, after making the booking I was adviced that this is not the case. You shouldn't advertise something on your website if you can't deliver the service! Ideally I would like to get my money back or shuttle arranged another way but I doubt the way reservations is dealing with the issue! So if you book with this hotel, make sure the shuttle is operating! Last thing you want to do is to arrive at the airport after 11 hour flight through the night and having to wait for something that will never arrive!
"Good hotel, handy for visiting Telefonica HQ"
06/16/14 sos100 Dublin, Ireland
I was in and out for one night, to meet Telefonica (nearby). So this drove my choice of hotel. It was walking distance to Telefonica. It's a classic modern Holiday Inn: somewhat stylish, nice communal areas downstairs, clean, free WiFi, etc. It did exactly what I needed, and the staff were helpful and friendly (and I don't speak Spanish except to ask for another Cerveza :-) I'd stay there again.
"Cheap and cheerful, but a bit far out........"
05/27/14 Daniel B Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Not a bad hotel, but in an inconvenient area. Save a Chinese "we stock everything under the sun" shop around the corner (inc. Snacks and drinks), it was a bit of a walk to the nearest cafe or pharmacy. That was about all there was in the area I found (weekend). A 10min walk to the metro and you could be in the middle of Madrid in about 15-20 mins. Very quiet area at the weekends, as all the large warehouses around were closed. Incase the website hasn't been updated, when they say the airport transfers are at certain times, it means not at all at the weekends! So your looking at a fair trip on the metro with a change. The gym is, small, a few running machines and bikes, 1 dumbbell. If you want a sauna, ask them to turn it on well before you want it.
"I'd give it three and a half if I could"

It is a 'standard' type Holiday Inn so you get the typical amenities like a safe and comfortable bed and pillows. And coffee and tea in the room. The hotel is in an office park so a bit barren but great if you work there (as I was) so you can walk very quickly to work. It is nice and quiet which is a bonus. Restaurant facilities are quite limited and sometimes there isn't a chef around. The menu is actually the room service one so don't stay more than about five days or you'll have been through it completely. Breakfast is good and there's hot food as well as the traditional continental ham and cheese. On my last night I went around the area and there are quite a few restaurants just a block or two up towards the west. This is a residential part of Las Tablas so obviously the people living there have to eat. I went to the Victoria Bar in Calle de Isobel Colbrand and the tapas were good. There is a Metro station about ten minutes walk from the hotel and it takes about 30 minutes to get into Sol with two changes (the first one is on the same line, Linea 10, which is a bit weird) so that's not bad. I got a combinado ticket for EUR18.30 for ten trips which worked out at about £1.50 each - not bad to get from Las Tablas to Sol or Plaza d'Espana as one viaje. The RENFE station at Fuencarral is about 20 mins walk so maybe a bit of a strain unless the shuttle takes you there. It is apparently a lot quicker into town, though. I never bothered as the Metro was fine. If I could give a single word to describe my negatives on this hotel it would be 'sporadic': 1. The aircon can be sporadic and not always cooling as much as you need. Mind you, you can open the windows to cool things down a bit at night. The problem is compounded by the need to switch on the electrics by putting your room key card (or other card, I eventually found) into a slot. This is really irritating when you return to the room after a day's working and find it's hot as the aircon wasn't on. Why can't they supply a second card to allow the thing to run all day? 2. Shower is also sporadic - water pressure rises and falls, and despite the thermostatic control you can get frozen and then scalded in a moment. This is really irritating. 3. Wifi - albeit free - can be sporadic. During the day it can be fine but in the evenings when everybody comes back from work or tourism the bandwidth just isn't enough and you can sometimes actually not get any feed at all. 4. The shuttle is also sporadic as it only works during the week so if you don't have a car it can be quite bad. There are taxis but they're quite expensive.

Stayed just one night on business, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Everything I wanted from a short business stay : Friendly & efficient check-in, very comfortable room, functioning bathroom, comfortable bar, decent breakfast. When I asked directions to a local customer I was visiting, they even took me for free in their hotel van ! Thank you Holiday Inn.
"OK Hotel, but Express is better."
01/31/14 ebookpunkie John O'Groats, United Kingdom
I chose this hotel for 2 reasons. 1/. because it was close to my business destination and 2/. because it was a Holiday Inn - after all this is Spain and I wanted to have a reasonable chance of eating at times that suited me. But it was a mistake. There is no room service until 2030 and the breakfast was poor. i specifically chose a Holiday inn so that I could avoid the carb-fest that is breakfast in the Express nearby. All I wanted was 2 fried egs. But the hotel does not cook real eggs - due to salmonella (!); however, it does offer eggs on the in-room breakfast menu. Something not right here. And security is poor. I never speak my room number, rather I show my card. This didn't stop the waitress shouting out my room number to all in the restaurant. So, all-in-all pretty poor. This is unfortunate as the hotel has the potential to be better.

I had a perfect weekend stay in Holiday Inn Madrid Las Tablas. The hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the metro station Las Tablas. To the city centre it will take you about 40 minutes (10 walk + 30 metro). Rooms are spacious and offers you a tremendous bed with a lot of pillows. Bathroom is also spacious and has a very nice walk inn shower. Excellent amenities! Also a terrific breakfast buffet, which is worth the money (11,50 euro per person). Staff is very friendly and helps you with any issue. Conclusion: Excellent hotel (only quite a bit from the city centre).
