This was all you could hope for in a budget Paris hotel room that you're not spending a lot of time in. Yes, the room is small, but what you would expect from a low price Paris hotel room. The room was clean and was tidied every day. We had a two twin bed room with a private bathroom. The bathroom was very good size and had a real size shower with good […] water pressure. You can't beat the location - a block from the Le Peletier station, short walk to the Opera and department stores and short walk up to Montmartre. It was about a 15 min. straight walk to Opera for the RoissyBus to the airport. A handy market across the street with cheap water, snacks and wine. Possible trouble spot - the room had a plug-in heating unit and fan. The heater did the trick for winter, but not sure how the fan will hold up in the middle of summer. Read more

Good surprise, the outside is not as nice as the room. Very clean and well respected bath room and shower facilities. We were on the 4th floor and very narrow toilette room. Overall is good. The hotel is located in a good location. There is a grocery store near by. The metro is very short walking distance. The service will depend on who is on duty. Charming hotel. The room we had was so quiet and peaceful...we slept better than at our own home. This is a cozy hotel in the middle of an excellent area. I travelled with my mom who is an old lady, walk with cratches, so we used mainly the bus system. Quite difficult at the begining but manageable. the best thing i have to say is that the customer service is unbeatable. since we arrived Thomas explained everything, so accurate, even printed out […] some of the bus routes for us. very clean hotel and bedroom. toilerettes and fresh towels every day,. dont expect a large room. i would say this hotel is not for claustrophobic people. no mini bar in the room. Faobourg street is a road with plenty options for drinking, eating and even do some grocery. Carrefour is like five blocks, there is a minimarket in front of the hotel, coffe shops nearby where you can have breakfast. I strongly recomend the coffee/daily shopping in the corner opposite to the hotel; fresh squeezed orange juice to go for 2,90, 4,90 or 7 litre bottle. if you feel like walking go to grand boulevards turn rigth and 300 meters after youll find many bars and even a Hard Rock Cafe. if you keep walking youl get to Opera. i would stay here again. and Thank all of you guys that make our stay very pleasant. I think this hotel was a bargain and made my stay in Paris much more affordable. Paris is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The hotel seemed to be in a safe neighborhood with a small grocery store and restaurants nearby. It was very close to the metro station so it was convenient to get to all the sights in Paris. It had no bathroom or shower in my room which I had expected. I don't mind shared bathrooms. The 2nd room had no toilet but had a shower. I think previous guests have used the shower as a toilet because I smelled a urine odor the 1st time I tried to use the shower. I did not use it again. I use the shared shower in the hall for the rest of my stay to avoid the odor. The shared shower was clean. I would recommend requesting a room without a shower because the 1st room I stayed in did not have the odor. Read more

The hotel is in a great location. A couple blocks away from the big shopping area (Galerie Lafayette and Printemps). Right next to the metro. The room we stayed in was really small, and did not have the space to lay out our 2 big suitcases. Other than that the room was comfortable and clean.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monaco. They were perfect for my needs, very clean and helpful staff who all spoke very good English. The hotel is half a block from the Metro but I often chose to walk where I needed since I enjoyed walking. It's close to Montmarte and a little farther to the Seine and the Louvre but still not bad. This is a smaller independent hotel and I have only positive things to say about my experience. I had a courtyard-side room with own bath (307). I was pleasantly surprised at how charming my room was and loved that it was wonderfully irregularly shaped. The space was aesthetic and adequate, clean and pleasant. The desk staff was courteous and helpful. I speak zero French. The area is dense with restaurants of all types and there is a lovely grocery store across the street. It's a safe 15-20 walk to the Louvre and one small block from the Metro. I didn't do the breakfast and have no comment there. It's self-serve for a little over 9 euro. I was happy to have the option. My only minor quibble, I'm a big person and thus chose a double bed, which happened to be assembled from two single mattresses with seam in between. Nonetheless, I slept comfortably and the room was perfectly quite. I would recommend if you enjoy a little character in your life. Everything suggested that this small hotel cares. The hotel website is worth browsing; the personality comes through there. The pictures are better lit than my experience, but accurate as to all other room conditions. Read more

I wanted to give my 7-year-old daughter her dream: a week in Paris. I saved and worked extra jobs to make it happen. She had high expectations, and I wanted to treat her to a memorable trip without being a cheapskate-or blowing my budget. The Monte Carlo allowed me to do both. The rooms were unique and wonderful-bright, colorful, nicely decorated and impeccably clean. My daughter never stopped raving about our room the entire week. Best of all was the staff, who were incredibly professional, warm, friendly, knowledgeable, patient, caring and just generally wonderful. We felt very welcome at the Monte Carlo, as if they were truly glad to have us as guests. By the end of our first day, my daughter was referring to the Monte Carlo as our "home," not simply "the hotel." Her image of the Paris "dream is intact, thanks in large part to the Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo was a great choice with no clue what to expect. Right around the corner from Pellitier subway stop and up the street from Grands Boulevards subway stop. Bought 10 metro trip tickets at Gare de Austerlitz rail station for subway at 12 Euros (1 trip was 1.7 Euros) so saved 5 Euros. Walking around the neighborhood after midnight felt very […] safe. We rode the metro to Statue of Liberty and walked back to Eiffel Tower. Hotel had someone at the front desk 24 hrs at day. Breakfast was offered at 8 Euros a day, but there were plenty of options in town for food and a couple markets within a block to buy snacks if you're on a budget. The breakfast was a little too simple to charge 8 euros - it would be perfect if there at least was some fresh fruit added to the cereal/toast/croissants offering that they had. We also walked to the Louvre and such, although that is probably about a 20 minute walk.
