A lovely small Inn with a classic winelands Cape Dutch look and feel. Located overlooking vineyards just outside Franschoek. A quiet setting with a very nice pool and breakast service. A perfect place to settle in after a day visiting the extraordinary vineyards and restaurants of the area.

We had a studio room, which is in the roof and half the room is sloping and small, but quite liveable. Great area with underground parking, as parking around there is tight, pull into drive to left of front door to check in. Staff effective and good breakfast.

Very nice palce that offers a lot of privacy. The hotel staff is very friendly and really tries to assist on any matter or question. The hotel is 10 min walk from the beach. Pool with fresh ocean water is a really nice place to relax in the evening!

Loved this hotel, loved this location and thought the staff was outstanding. What a beautiful location to enjoy a beautiful view of Table Mountain and great restaurants all within walking distance.

I've stayed at this hotel twice, both times for 2 weeks, and have yet to be disappointed. The facility is lovely and the staff cannot be beat. They are helpful and attentive-Michael remembers my drink order, Brandon is one of the best concierges I've ever met-and the rest of the staff are just as great. I can't recommend the Upper East Side enough!

"Tired hotel not worthy of five stars"
Booked two nights but stayed only one. Twice found the room allocated to us was dirty. Two people at the reception and one rather old but friendly helper could not assist us much. No hotel manager anywhere on the property either. Friendliness cannot make up for poor service, though it is always appreciated. After Hotels.com intervened we were upgraded […] to a rather tired looking junior suite. This privately owned hotel would do better to downgrade itself and rebuild it's service. How it was awarded a Luxury Hotel Award in 2011 I cannot understand. Three tiny soap, conditioner and shampoo bottles are also the only consumable found in our room. Nothing more than a one star hotel would have put in their rooms. Final issue after several was our discovery that the services offered by the hotel, in particular the gym or fitness centre, no longer existed even though the hotel is advertised as having them. Remember this is a FIVE star hotel! Advice to the hotel manager: issue a small vacuum cleaner to cleaning staff to collect pubic hair from baths, shower and toilet areas before guests move in. Have them flush used toilets before guests move in. Invest in proper toiletries and extras in your rooms to welcome guests. Spend some time in other 5 star hotels to better understand what 5 star service really means. Heck, try 4 stars if that's too big a leap for you! As this was a huge occasion for us (wedding anniversary) we were hugely disappointed with choosing this hotel, especially in light of all the real 5 star hotels in the Cape Town region. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Read more

Hotellet ligger på en flott vingård utenfor Stellenbosch. Naturen rundt og bygningene er fantastiskt fine. Man får et meget godt førsteinntrykk som hotellet etter hvert ikke klarer å leve opp til. Vi bodde der i 3 dager i desember. Det var ganske fullt og dermed måtte vi vente overalt, ved poolen for å få solseng, for å få håndkle, for å bestille drikke, […] for å få rommet ryddet, etc. Maten på restauranten var så dårlig at vi endte opp med å bestille hamburgere siste kvelden. Прекрасный отель, великолепное местоположение. Единственное, что несколько подпортило впечатление, это то, что подогреваемый бассейн не подогревался во время нашего пребывания, а мы, особенно дочь, очень расчитывали поплавать. Некоторое раздражение вызвал даже не сам факт, что температура воды была 18, а незаявленные 25, а то, что ни один из сотрудников […] спа не предупредил нас об этом, с радостными улыбками проводив в раздевалку. В результате мы не только потратили время на переодевание, но и выглядели довольно глупо, бодро подойдя к бассейну, а потом также бодро направившись обратно одеваться. Сказали бы сразу о временных трудностях, разочарование было бы несоизмеримо меньше. Но в остальном никаких претензий. Шикарный ресторан, в лобби все время стоит ведерко с белым вином и водой, а также графинчики с портвейном и шерри. По территории скачут белки, один раз вечером видели даже пролетающую сову. Отличное собственное вино, предупредительный персонал. С удовольствием прехали бы туда еще раз. Read more
