I'd asked the hotel to organize for 6 persons our transport from the airport to the hotel. Nobody was there. The hotel said they have never received my e-mail confirming my request. Enoyed the hotel immensely. However, Petro Palace has a number of extra charges that make the stay frustrating. Gym is only "free" from 7am-11am. Afterwards, you have to pay to use the gym. The best asset is its location since it's only 2 blocks away from the Hermitage & the Metro station is a block away. There are 2 restaurants across the street ; a McDonaldd & an excellent Asian fusion restaurant near the Metro station. The location is perfect, it's right in the center but a block away from the busy Nevsky prospect. We were there in July and the city was very lively almost all night long with lots of people strolling along Nevsky and embankment or taking night canal and river boats. Since the metro closes shortly after midnight it was easy to walk to the hotel even […] at night. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby. We used wi-fi in the downstairs lobby, but on a few occasions couldn't connect at all. The hotel claims to have a climate control in every room and we had a control panel in our room, but for some reason it didn't matter what temperature we selected, the thermometer always showed 71 degrees. I was traveling in SPB for business. The in-room Internet was so SLLLLLLLOOOOOWWWW. So slow that I could hardly do basic email tasks let alone do anything with video or media. It's small things like this that can actually hurt the overall experience. Aside from that the Internet was at a 15 euro cost per day.

The entire staff was pleasant and totally accommodating. We arrived ahead of check-in time and were given our rooms right away -- 4 hours ahead of schedule! Wonderful. We asked for recommendations for restaurants and were very pleased with the suggestions. The breakfast buffet had many selections including fresh fruit and and an option to order eggs […] the way you preferred them to be cooked. We found the location very convenient and easily walked to many of the sights. Our bathroom had a shower only -- no bathtub -- a drawback after long days of hiking around the city, but that was a minor inconvenience. The room was a no frills affair, large and simply furnished, but it suited our needs. We didn't spend much time in the hotel. The mattress could use some updating, but we slept well. After we checked out, my son realized he had left his headphones behind and rushed back to retrieve them. The staff helped him find them. We would definitely return. Read more

You can't beat the location for this hotel. Half a block from St. Isaac's Cathedral, two blocks from the Admiralty, the Hermitage and Nevsky Prospekt with a bus stop half a block away. The hotel is in an ideal location, the staff were courteous and responsive. The room was spacious. The only complaint is that the mattress had beg bugs. After initial skepticism when requesting the mattress be sprayed, they changed my room after seeing the bite marks on the back of my neck. No other issues. Enjoyed the pool, spa, and jacuzzi.

Location is central and very close to main shopping district and to the Hermitage. A few nice restaurants were also quite close by. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and warm ( even had heated bathroom floors) which is a plus for Russia's cold weather. Only thing off was that you had to pay for even basic TV and not only movies. Petro Palace Hotel is (I think) only about 6 years old, but the rooms are decorated in a very classic style. The staff at the hotel are almost all bi-lingual, which was great. They are all friendly and helpful. Our room was huge, one of the biggest I have seen! And the bathroom was also huge, with a heated floor, plenty of towels and the usual amenities. […] Breakfast was included in our room rate and it had all the usual choices (cereals, pastries, yogurt, fruit etc.) You could also order omelettes or bacon and eggs. The Lobby Bar, Sky Bar, and business centre have free wi-fi, or you can pay for wi-fi in your room. Our room had a balcony so we had a lovely view of St. Isaacs Cathedral. The Hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the Hermitage Museum and a block away from St. Isaac Cathedral. We enjoyed staying here and getting a room where our breakfast buffette was included in the price of the room. We stayed in Saint Petersburg for 10 days and we enjoyed ours stay in a very comfortable room, with a good size bathroom with […] a regular shower head and a built in-fan. There were small details that we valued as they made our stay more comfortable. For example, we could use the Computer at the Business Center at no extra cost. Besides the regular breakfast buffette they would cook eggs to order and add bacon, ham, sausage, etc. Our room had a thermometer in both centigrades and farenheit so we could always tell what the temperature was. There was also a 5 day weather report posted at the front desk and it was pretty accurate. The Bear Restaurant downstairs offered a limited menu, but the food was very tasty and at good prices. We ate there about 6 times. We also enjoyed the music featured in the Restaurant. The Concierges were there until late at night every day. Some of them are better than others at providing accurate information. For example, the lady that told us how to get to Pushkin to see Katherine's Palace was very well informed and gave us good directions. On the other hand,when we tried to visit Beloselsky Palace on Nevsky Prospekt we asked another young lady at the Concierge's what type of displays were there in this Museum and she said that it was just "an old palace" with furniture. So, we asked directions and the times that it was opened. She gave us the directions, but she never checked in the computer that she had right infront of her, so as a result, we found out after walking there for half an hour in the rain, that the Museum IS CLOSED AND HAS BEEN CLOSED for along period of time.
