"Funky Old Hotel"
Room was very small and cramped. So much has been crammed into the room (microwave, frig, coffee maker, dresser) there is no room to open the suitcase except on the clean bed linens. Bathroom was the smallest closet ever! My husband who is not a big man could barely get in the bathroom and close the door. Management staff were great and very helpful […] but haven't been their very long so still new at the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Mom and pop are only in their thirties, very dedicated service. Old house: Can hear your neighbors well, beautiful decor in many places, real oil paintings on the walls.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice motel which meets a traveler's basic needs. Bed okay, bed sheets and linens are boutique level. The bathroom mirror (the only mirror) is 90 degrees (imagine the medicine cabinet on the left as you're facing forward)from the wash basin, making it very awkward to use. Breakfast items could include some basic fruit like bananas, apples and oranges. […] Only apples were available. Pastries are the oversweetened pre-packaged danishes. "Good for a couple or single"
The Hotel Venue was an interesting old building that characterized the small town effect where it was located. The rooms were decorated tastefully, and there was a charming garden outside the room. A chair was missing, making it more uncomfortable than it would have otherwise been. Unfortunately one of the tenants in the adjoining room was noisy (TV […] on all night), which made it difficult to sleep. The staff was very nice, accomodating, and apologetic for the situation. "a wonderful surprise!"
This hotel is so cute, clean, and comfy. Very nice staff, too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great service, quaint area, neat hotel. The beds however were awful and uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a nice place to stay. This hotel is old but the room is clean. The staff is also very very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Step back in time!"
This hotel was farther away from the main entrance to Yosemite than I thought (70 miles), but we were thrilled with the hotel itself. It really seems like you have stepped back in time in this hotel built in 1922. My husband loved sitting on the back porch swing, it was very peaceful. My only complaint was that the glass window over the door allows […] the hall light to shine right on the head part of the bed. The front desk guy (only employee we saw) was very nice and was always asking if there was anything we needed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice stay - great staff - great for families!"
We had a slight mix-up with number of beds in our reserved room (we needed 2) and Alexis was fantastic about getting it all cleared up. The room was nice and immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable. Had a little trouble with the hot water in the bathroom sink but it worked out in the end. Will definitely stay again - great for families.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stay at this hotel for two nights and it was great stay there Service is simply perfect, most of it because of the guy at the front desk!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed in one of the cottages in the back. Good value for price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Couples will love it"
A charming Victorian, that I was not expecting for a Best Value Inn. Right on Main Street, with plenty of places to eat and shop, all within walking distance. You can sit out on the back porch or the front balcony and just put your feet up and relax.Genuine Expedia guest review

I loved my stay at this hotel. The guy at the desk was great and the room was lovely. Just a tip for cluless ppl like myself: the shower works by pulling the bottom of the tub faucet!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay!"
We went to Jamestown for spring break. This place was perfect! We ate toast and packaged bear claws for breakfast. After a day of adventure, we would drink some sarsaparilla and play some fooseball. The employees were friendly and helped out to suite our needs. It's gold country, not yuppy country, so go with an open mind and have fun!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rango in the beauty"
Old west, Gold Rush building. Excellent value. Wonderful experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel In Flux"
This was an okay hotel in an okay town. It seemed like it recently changed ownership and the new owner was trying to do everything himself. They were accommodating but the place seemed a little run down. The building itself screamed history but was hidden behind poor decorating choices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price. Excellent staff!!!!"
Great location and easy to find. The hotel is old and it shows it's age, but the owner has done a good job making it look nice. When I checked in I was told that I could upgrade to a room with it's own bathroom. I was a little confused because when i booked the room it said that it came with a private bath. It is not a private bathroom, it is a bathroom […] that is shared between a few different rooms. The clerk upgraded me to a room with it;s own bathroom for only $5 more a night. The room is cute but the shower could be a little bigger and it would be nice to have a light in the shower. There is only one light in the bathroom and it is to far away from the shower so you are showering basically in the dark. After we checked out the clerk showed us the private cottages they have and I must say next time i stay there I will stay in the cottages, very nice. If you are on a budget take your own food or eat somewhere else. The two restaurants in Jamestown are extremely expensive and my girlfriend and I felt out of place and way under dressed. I would recommend this hotel for couples and not families. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Worth a visit"
This is a reasonably priced, clean, older style hotel in middle of the town with smaller rooms in which we (a married couple) stayed and some outside buildings that accommodate larger groups or families I gather. Hotel seems to be establishing a pleasant, relaxed style as it updates. One night stay was just fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a very cozy stay. The hotel was built in 1920 so, it is aged but nicely aged. The staff was great! My overall rating was good, if you are looking for new/modern and city style stay, this is not the place for you, this is a warm down home mountain environment . My cottage room had a full kitchen with all the supplies you would need to make your […] own meals even a dishwasher the bed was awesome and futon inside the room was thick leather very comfortable. I plan to return real soon. Did I mention the cherry wood floors...Love them! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cozy Historic Hotel, Not Too Far from Yosemite"
My boyfriend and I stayed here one night before heading out to Yosemite the following day. The room was small (cozy) , but the bed was very comfortable compared to other hotels we had stayed in on our trip. I enjoyed the historic nature of the building and looking at the old newspaper clipping on the walls. Our room was in the back and had a second […] door that opened directly onto the back patio / smoking area, where there were benches and a foosball table. The price was GREAT. We arrived kind of late (I think around 9 or 10 pm), but the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and an added electric outlet. The shower was kind of hinky, but the building is old and we weren't expecting luxury quality. The main historic street of Jamestown is pretty neat looking. There's a railroad museum nearby that we were interested in seeing, but unfortunately did not have enough time for. The most disappointing thing about this hotel was that the complimentary breakfast was only toast and jam, but I guess that's how complimentary breakfasts go. It took us about 40 minutes via the 120 to get to the Yosemite entrance gate from this location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Royal Carriage Inn"
Great little quaint hotel in the heart of Jamestown. Would definitely stay there again if I was in that area.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a small, decent room with a beautiful, comfortable bed, the staff was friendly, the price was reasonable. The bathroom floors and sink were clean, but the shower shelves, floor carpet, and walls needed to be cleaned. Many of the lightbulbs in the upstairs hallway did not work and needed to be replaced and it was quite dark, maybe they took them […] off to save money? I would stay here again possibly, but hope that this review helps make it better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place for anyone - could probably live here"
This was an unusual gem from the normal Expedia discounted places. The dark cherry wood floors were magnificent. The full kitchen was a surprise as was the flat screen TV and Wi Fi. "Best Time Ever!!!"
At first site, what a nice looking older place, just like in the 1800's. We checked in with Carly. She was so very nice and friendly, you know, treated us like family! Made sure we knew where to go and what there was to do. The room was very clean. I was surprised to see a good size fridge, a little microwave and a coffee pot!! Plenty of towels. It […] was cold outside and the heater worked great. Plus, it did not make a bunch of noise like some do. We stayed two nights, got engaged, and they put a basket with a hand written note along with two sweet rolls, a bag of candy, and two waters!!! How sweet! We will be back again !!!! LOVE IT!! "walking distance to places to eat. good parking."
Enjoyed our stay very much. the bed was very comfortable. The manager, Carly was so helpful and when overboard to help us with any needs. All the staff was great. I like to read in bed so a night table with a lamp would have been great. Our shower floor looked like it needed a good cleaning. But over all the place was great. Everything was very close. […] I love antiques so enjoyed shopping at all the shops. The Willow Steakhouse and Grille was great, food was delicious. Had breakfast at the Big Scoop across the street from the hotel, food very good, prices good, not expensive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Spooky Fun & Old World Ambience"
Jamestown is known for its historical and old world vibe. We had a charming and slower paced stay at Royal Carriage Inn. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The room aged, but clean. This is a very very old hotel. Small rooms, some with a private hall bath, some with in room and then some cottages. The value of a standard room is outstanding. The room was clean and comfortable. I would stay again, however I would check with lobby to see if they had blankets. Also the gel dispenser in the shower was empty but did not know that until taking a shower-no other soap was available in room. "Not like owner-operated"
Historic Jamestown deserves a more owner-operated hotel with home town customer service.. First time experience of a required deposit at check-in. Plus they kept a photocopy of my credit card and driver's license. Shouldn't have bothered with that tacky coffee and toast service in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very quaint old hotel in a very quaint little town. It isn't 5 star, however it's probably the best you will find in the area. It's a bit out of the way regardless of your destination, but for the price, it is worth a bit of an extra drive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fair for the price"
Good location, tight parking. They gave us a better room, something about TV service in some. Access card slots on doors apparently give them trouble. Nice, clean room, about what one should expect for the decent price. Don't count on Continental breakfast too much. We found it all wiped out, my Wife got the last coffee cup, looked like there was coffee, […] some juices, and cello wrapped danishes. Didn't see anyone around who cared, or was in process of restocking. Limited seating, as well. No matter, we got a good breakfast just down the street at the nearby coffee shop. We had a very comfortable, affordable stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only reason I put a 4 for service, maintenance and cleanliness is that a used towel from the previous tennant was left on the towel rack. Things were fine, just not perfect. Great for a quick getaway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet stay in a small town."
We stayed here as a jumping off point for one day in Yosemite. It took at least 2 hours to get into Yosemite Valley but was fine for our purposes. We had a few minor plumbing issues with our room but didn't inform the staff until check out because everything still worked. When checking out, we waited at the front desk for 5 minutes despite ringing the […] bell on the counter before someone finally arrived. Besides these minor inconveniences, we had a nice stay. Manager was delightful young woman, very helpful and accommodating. Bed was very comfortable. No phone in room. Breakfast very limited! Housekeeping was dreadful! Entry door mats very dirty; never swept during 4 day stay. (would have moved, but REQUIRED prepayment was non refundable); entry porch boards moldy. Lots of bugs in bathroom lightfixture. […] Bathroom window and screen dirty; full of cobwebs.; Second morning, of 4) there I used the coffee pot and it was never cleaned nor were dirty mugs replaced. Third day, floors were not cleaned; full waste basket not empltied; Soap dispensers in shower emply first day and sink empty second day; request to be filled and was replaced with a 32 oz unlabeled commercial liquid soap product. 2nd request provided bars of soap because "dispensers filled once a month by company and they don't come until the 12th".
